The World Marauders are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter of the noble White Scars formed during 23rd Founding, also known as the 'Sentinel Founding'. A fleet-based Chapter, the space faring World Marauders move as a singular powerful force, striking planet after planet filled with the enemies of mankind. While they are cooperative with the Imperial Navy, having fought alongside them in numerous campaigns, the World Marauders have developed a reputation of defying orders from sources such as the High Lords of Terra should it interfere with their operations and capabilities of combating the enemies of man, known for acting autonomous in their actions. They have also been known of attacking human pirates, recruiting from their ranks or forcing others to become their serfs.
History[]
Notable Campaigns[]
- Battle of the Icarus Sub-Sector (M541.M41): Located in the Segmentum Pacificus, the Icarus Sub-Sector had come under repeated attack from Ork Freebooters. Eventually, the World Marauders arrived without a word, disrupting a skirmish between the Orks and the local Imperial Navy, quickly wiping out the former. The Marauders then began a solar-long month against the Orks, hunting them down and destroying their ships. Sometimes they would ambush the Greenskins by luring them out with bait, such as large merchant fleets, all the while ignoring all Vox and Astropathic messages from Imperial Forces. Eventually, the World Marauders located the Ork leader at the planet Obalis, Capital Planet of Icarus. Captain Kalgian personally faced the large Ork aboard the planet's sole space port, chopping off the xeno's limbs before ejecting him and his Nobs into space. Later, the World Marauders took large groups of young male Hive Gangers to become new recruits for the chapter, before departing.
Organisation[]
The World Marauders Chapter has slight differences in comparison to the Codex Astartes Chapter, though they do adhere to the rule of having a total of 1,000 Battle Brothers. The entire chapter moves as one single entity, an entire fleet to be exact, or as they call it, the Flotilla, and rarely dispatches their forces to separate engagements, preferring to remain together to overwhelm their foes with firepower. The majority of their fleet is crewed and command by mortal servants and servitors, overseen by the Astartes of the Chapter.
Officer Ranks[]
- Admiral: The Chapter Master of the World Marauders, the Admiral commands the entire Chapter Fleet. Commanding from either their mobile Fortress-Monastery or the Flotilla's sole Battle Barge, he oversees all orders, battles and the condition of the chapter's ships. One of the major requirements is that they are to be a master at void combat, capable of combating any foe in space, no matter the size or designs of the enemies' ships.
- Quartermaster: The Quartermaster is assigned to protecting the Fortress-Monastery and also serves as the second underneath the Admiral. However, when the Admiral is not present, the Quartermaster's primary duty is assigning assets and supplies to the Companies as well as new supplies that the chapter receives. In addition, the Quartermaster oversees the training of new recruits and the assignment of mortal servants to the Flotilla.
- Captain: The Captains are the ones who command the Companies. Each one is given command over a Strike Cruiser in their Company. These Marines carry centuries of combat experience related to void warfare and aerial assaults, as well as boarding parties and both air and ground lightning attacks. They are also responsible for ensuring that all ships in their companies are fully prepared for battle, as the chapter commonly engages with enemies of various kind.
- Lieutenant: The Lieutenant was already a rank used by the World Marauders before the introduction of the Primaris Space Marines. They are veteran officers of the Chapter and each Company has a total of four Lieutenants, each one serving a different function. One Lieutenants commands ground forces in the Captain's place, another commands their Company's fleet in orbit, the third acts as an advisor for the Captain, accompanying him everywhere, and the final one now commands the Vanguard Space Marine squads.

- Raiders: The Raiders are a specialized Veteran Squad. They are trained similar to the Breacher Siege Squads used by the Legions of old, the Raiders would be the first into battle. They would be deployed either via drop pods or from Caestus Assault Rams, for ground and void combat respectively. Each squadron has five squads of these veterans, in respect to the White Scars' Legion Number.
Non-Astartes[]
- Voidmen: The term is used to refer to the majority of the Chapter Serfs whom serve the World Marauders, serving as the primary crew of their ships. These Voidmen carry out various roles like all other serfs, most notably manning the weaponry of the vessels, piloting the fighters, and protecting the ship from boarders. These mortals are highly trained in void combat, many of them having grown up on ships.

Recruitment[]
As a fleet-based Chapter, the World Marauders do not have a homeworld to recruit from. The worlds they normally recruit from are Feral Worlds, taking from there the most ferocious warriors and killers. Feudal worlds are secondary, recruiting both knights and bandits, mostly the latter as they are considered more battle-harden and having better survival intuition. They will also sometimes recruit from civilized worlds, mostly from hive cities' underhive thugs, preferring these rebellious souls over the strict nobility. However, the World Marauders are unique in that they will also recruit from human pirate crews, taking the young males into the chapter while forcing the others into their service as Gunners (Serfs) or worse, as servitors.

Fortress-Monastery[]
The Void Traveler[]
The home of the World Marauders is a Battle Barge called Void Traveler. Along with being their fortress-monastery, it is also the flagship for the Chapter Master, and has long-served the Chapter for centuries. Due to this construct's large size, it is able to house hundreds of the World Marauders' war machines, as well as serving as the mobile fortress-monastery for the Chapter itself. Many times over the years, it has been modified to serve the World Marauders' needs, possessing a formidable array of void shields, and various orbital and sub-orbital weaponry, able to lay waste to entire cities and earning a dreadful reputation. The durability of the Void Traveler enables this mighty mobile citadel to shrug off the heaviest fire all but unscathed and smash aside defense lines and attack Imperial fleets with contemptuous ease.
Chapter Fleet[]
- The Wave Crasher (Strike Cruiser) - The ship of the 3rd Company, the Wave Crasher is normally at the front of the World Marauder's Flotilla, serving as the vanguard and blockade breaker. While holding the usual armaments, the Strike Cruiser has been modified for ramming action, the front reinforced to take the impact of almost anything it strikes. Along with that it has a device, most likely of xenos origins, that allows it to remain undetected by others, even Astropaths.
