The Void Templars are a semi-Codex compliant Loyalist Successor Chapter of Imperial Fists' descent. Astartes of this Chapter are masters of void warfare, boarding actions and siege warfare. They were Founded during the 10th Founding and are followers of the Imperial Creed, fully believing in the Emperor's divinity. They were heavily depleted from a traitor siege of their homeworld until the resurrected Ultramarines Primarch Roboute Guiliman arrived with his Indomitus Crusade and granted the sorely depleted Void Templars with newly revealed Primaris Space Marines and some additional vessels. Currently, they are participating in the Indomitus Crusade. Although they follow the Codex Astartes, they also possess their own unique ranks and Chapter traditions.
Chapter History & Notable Campaigns[]
Founding & Early History[]
The Void Templars were Founded during the 10th Founding in the late 35th Millennium. Formed as a response to a large increase to Chaos, Renegade and Xenos raids upon imperial worlds and defence stations within the Ultima Segmentum. The leadership for the Chapter was decided to be drawn from the Imperial Fists 4th Company, with the first Chapter Master being Konrad, Captain of the Fourth Company and Master of the Fleet. The Chapter was originally fleet-based, with the Battle Barge "Void's Fury" serving as their Chapter Monastery. The first recorded campaign in which they participated was the Siege of Malkaan (which lasted from 065.M36. to 070.M36.) where the 3rd Company of the Void Templars led by Captain Sigirsius aided Imperial forces in retaking the hive world, which has rebelled against the Imperium due to an increase in tithes requested by the Administratum. Captain Sigirsius and his Company eventually managed to break through the traitor defences at the capital, Hive Mariar, after which they managed to locate and execute the leadership of the rebellion. The hive world would be reincorporated into the Imperium after a few more months of fighting, with Hive Mariar being completely destroyed by orbital bombardment and even harsher tithes being imposed upon the world as punishment for rebellion.
Discovery of Novigrad[]
During one of their early campaigns in M37. the Chapter would re-discover the world of Novigrad, which was cut off from the rest of the Imperium since the War of the Beast. After making sure that the population was free of major mutations and kept true to Imperial laws, the Chapter would exterminate the Orks that were plaguing the world and its moon, after which they decided to adopt Novigrad as their primary recruitment world and established their Fortress Monastery on the moon of Klothrad.
Valkhaan Crusade[]
The Chapter's next recorded campaign in imperial records is the Valkhaan Crusade (652.M39. to 670.M39) where a united Imperial force of 6 Astartes chapters & Militarum regiments from 10 nearby worlds were sent to retake the Valkhaan Sector from heretics. The Valkhaan sector was subverted into rebelling against the Imperium by a force of heretic Astartes, with the largest of the Astartes warbands being the "Ironbloods" Iron Warriors Warband.
Chapter Homeworld[]
Novigrad[]
Is an oceanic feudal world, which was granted to the Chapter after being rediscovered by the Chapter in M37. , alongside its moon of Klothrad. It is mostly covered in seas that are full of many aquatic lifeforms, with the most notable being the gigantic Leviathans, which are hunted by the local population as one is able to feed a community for a year. Another notable species is the Novigrad Mawsnake, aquatic serpentines which can grow as large as a sail ship. Most of the land is divided by human principalities, which are kept in a constant state of conflict by the Void Templars, to act as a source of able recruits.
Klothrad[]
Is a mostly uninhabited death world, with the only real centre of population being in the Zvezda Mountains, with Starpeake, the Fortress-Monastery of the Void Templars and Deepstone City, a large bunker under Starpeake, which is where most of the Chapters serfs live. Otherwise, the only other humans on the moon are the recruits that are released upon it by the Void Templars during their initiation rituals.
Chapter Beliefs[]
Most unusual amongst the Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes, the Void Templars follow the Imperial Creed, and as such, believe the Emperor is a god. Upon taking a world, the Chapter's Chaplains will start spreading the Imperial Creed amongst the populace. The Chapter believes that the lives of ordinary humans are not of great importance, with Holy Voice Aleksei saying "They only exist to live and die for the Emperor, nothing more, nothing less".
Chapter Gene-Seed[]
As a Successor Chapter of the Imperial Fists, the Void Templars share their genetic legacy with their genetic forebears, especially after receiving their progenitor's own gene-stock following their redemption of the Years of Shame. Due to this direct link with their forebears, they have inherited many of the characteristics of their common Primarch Rogal Dorn. The Chapter's gene-seed is highly stable, though the Imperial Fists', and therefore the Fists' genome is lacking the Betcher's Gland that allows a Space Marine to spit corrosive acid and the Sus-an Membrane that allows him to enter a life-sustaining state of deep hibernation. The Star Fists's gene-seed is remarkably stable and healthy, free of all other major mutations and Chaotic contamination.
