The Swordmasters are a heroic Successor Chapter of the noble and heroic Blood Angels created during the 9th Founding. They are famous for their championship in the art of sword fighting and the deployment of power swords.
History[]
First Years[]
The long and glorious history of the Swordmasters starts at the end of M34. Early in their early years, they faced disastrous losses in wars. As they were founded they were not assigned a home world. They traveled in their first battle barge all over the Imperium. During this time the Chapter destroyed several dozen Ork WAAAGHs!, stopped over 23 Drukhari raids, and slayed over 3 million heretics. But deep in their hearts, the desire for one slumbered for their homeworld.
The quest for Vestarmark[]
As 698.M38 the Astropaths of the Swordmasters heard the call for help. As the Swordmaster prepared for yet another war they encountered a usual setback; there was no stellar map where the planet Vestarmark was listed. Neither the Adeptus Astronomica nor the Navis Nobilite possessed the actual position for Vestarmark. But the cries for help didn't stop. And so they decided to start a stubborn and more than determined search for Vestarmark. For many years searched the Swordmasters Vestarmark. They studied old maps, asked Rouge Traders, and read old Administratum reports. The few pieces of information which they found true were either inaccurate or contradictory. After 24 years they traced the missing planet to the Ölerch sector. There the Swordsmasters found the exact position of Vestarmark. As the Chapter arrived upon Vestarmark they saw the reason for their call for help. Group pirates terrorized this poor feudal world for decades. The Swordmasters, in overwhelming anger, destroyed the pirates and killed every single member. After this victory, they claimed Vestarmark as their new homeworld.
