After cleansing the entirety of the Laanah Rifts from the "Hellgrammite", the chapter would go on to make their landing on a world called Krakatoa Minoris within this sector. Establishing a foothold within the planet and claiming it as their homeworld.
The Chapter’s origins can be traced back to early M38, when the Imperium set out to claim back lost pockets of space of old night. Expedition and crusades were set out to uncharted systems and domains thought lost since the Age of Strife and the dark days of the Horus Heresy to be reclaimed in the name of the Emperor. The subsequent endeavor saw the increase of domains brought back to light, and establishment of multiple new Imperial forces integrated into the Imperium.
One such push into lost space was the Bellrath Crusade. A crusade directed towards an area of uncharted space, designated as the Laanah Rifts within the Segmentum Pacificus. The Crusade was launched and conducted by a well-known Lord General Militant, Slayban Bellrath. This long-benighted region was home to a foul race of xenos known as the Hellgrammite. These frail, arthropod creatures possessed ethereal weaponry that spouts Ætheric fire – while mounting on bio-mechanical monstrosities that could easily cleave through heavy armour.
Knowing well that the presence of Astartes would be crucial in this crusade. Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes were summoned, with a few more participating throughout the crusade to help aid the Imperial forces consisting of: 25 million Imperial Guards with unnumbered pilgrims and 2 Titan Legions on the Crusade.
Despite a strong military presence, skeptics had pointed to the idea that a potential successor chapter be built out of scattered grounds by the Lord Militant, but was kept hushed by the upper echelons of Slayban’s retinue. Whether the skeptics were true or false, no man of any position could deny or disprove Slayban's position and power; as such the crusade was initiated by 182.M38.
Entering the Laanah Rifts proved less challenging then anticipated, however as Imperial forces descended onto its frontiers worlds – hostility began to show itself. Within hours of the crusade, Imperial forces from the Astra Militarum were already torn and decimated. Such losses were likely proved to be the Imperium’s initial lack of understanding of the xenos species with their exotic warp-based weaponries; failing to find counter-measures against their foes. Astartes' presence such as the Sons of Medusa and Tome Keepers chapters soon found their way into the fray with the xenos.
Within years, the Imperial forces were at a constant standstill as ground was gained and lost. As the fighting worsened so did the relations between imperial forces strained, such as the Tome Keepers with their Adeptus Ministorum allies and the Ordo Hereticus. Wishing to prevent such calamity, Slayban in his righteous divinity, decided to agree with the proceedings of the founding of a chapter that could fight his war.
In the eighth year of the crusade, the Lord Militant contacted the High Lords of Terra through his private channel link of communication to Terra. His proposal included the immediate formation of a new successor chapter that could aid him in the crusade. What followed was not just the approval from the High Lords of Terra but also the arrival of an emissary from Terra to Medusa; homeworld of the Iron Hands.
Founding (190.M38)
It is unclear on what occurred during the emissary’s visit or how the first Chapter Master was selected to raise the chapter, but the chapter’s first lord would be an Iron Father of the Iron Hands. Through a series of debates within the Iron Council in Medusa, it was ultimately decided that Iron Father Varros Tekmerr would be the new lord of the Chapter.
The Iron Father was granted permission to bring with him a dozen battle brothers to raise his new chapter, along with the precious gene-seeds of Ferrus Manus. Drawing elements from Clan Kaargul, Borrgos, and Morlaag, each marine was handpicked by Varros himself to take with him as the first members of the chapter. With a wistful farewell the Astartes departed from Medusa.
By the time the chapter arrived at the Laanah Rifts, Varros had only managed to muster 3 demi-clan companies to aid in the Crusade. Recruiting from worlds leading from Medusa to the Northwest of Segmentum Pacificus through a trail known as Parlath’s Road. Imperial forces who were unaware of the chapter’s inception, initially treated the Astartes with varied suspicion.
These newcomers would spend the remainder of the crusade fighting in unsung wars, spending their time mostly unrecognized. Yet they remained undaunted in the face of adversaries, often seen providing fire-support to beleaguered Imperial forces in fierce warzones. With Varros leading from the spearhead in battles, the fledging chapter’s morale never frail nor would they ever bow before the foes of the Imperium.
As the crusade waged on, the chapter's resilience was forged under the crucible of bloodshed war. Forging them into hardened veterans of xenos warfare, while humbling the chapter as a whole from strength not of their own. Owing blood to the Tome Keepers for their timely liberation from a desolated warzone as the chapter and imperial forces were grounded to the last. As well as earning the trust of the Sons of Medusa chapter as the two chapters would commit their all to the final push at Wormgyre to rid the xenos from the Laanah Rifts.
After the final push at the Wormgyre saw the heart of the xenos torn out and its remaining forces shattered. Worlds in the Laanah Rifts were swiftly liberated from the xenos. And the Imperial forces were able to coordinate smoothly against the last few hostile xenos, before inevitably departing the system. Before long, Imperial ecclesiarch and other imperial organizations would establish themselves on the absolved worlds. At last after a long gruelling campaign, the Laanah Sector was finally part of the domain of the Emperor; and the crusade officially ended at 453.M38.
For their valorous participation, the world Krakatoa Minoris was granted to the Storm Paragons. It was once one of the many Imperial outpost used for regrouping and for resupplying during the Crusade. With that the crippled, but proud chapter would make their landings on this benighted world, replenishing their numbers while settling in their new world.
In charting their next course, Varros vowed that under his authority, the entire sector would stand guarded by the Astartes of his command. Starting their eternal vigil within the Laanah Rifts, the Storm Paragons would fight ferociously to defend their sector, hoping to prevent the sector from falling back into eternal darkness.

Notable Campaigns
Bellrath Crusade (182.M38-435.M38)- The Bellrath Crusade was a crusade intended for the reclamation of a benighted sector known as the Laanah Rifts. However, xenos known as the ‘Hellgrammite’ had infested the system and were marked for extermination. The Storm Paragons’ origin can be traced back to this Crusade, born out of necessity and through personal desire. Hailing from the geneline of Ferrus Manus, the chapter was led by Iron Father Varros Tekmerr, a revered veteran within the Iron Hands. The chapter aided the Imperial Forces across all frontiers often as fire-support. By allying with Imperial forces and other chapters such as the Sons of Medusa and Tome Keepers, they were able to drive off the xenos. In the end, the Hellgrammite were largely destroyed at Wormgyre and the sector was brought back to the Imperium. The Bellrath Crusade would be the first major victory for the Storm Paragons to bear.
The Reclamation of Anaxia III (502.M38)- From the outer reaches of the Laanah Rifts, a world designated as Anaxia III which was besieged by an ork warband - called for aid to nearby Imperial forces. Upon receiving the distress call, the Storm Paragons chapter mobilized their forces and directed their fleet towards the armoury world. It was known that the chapter’s strength deployed in Anaxia III were two squadrons worth of Storm Eagle gunships that broke the ork forces engaging with beleaguered Imperial forces. Led by Iron Captain Grudos of the nascent 2nd clan company, the 2nd clan were able to eradicate the disordered mobs of greenskins within 13 solar days. However, during the ensuing fight Warboss Drazzka managed to flee and cuss at the chapter on his eventual return for vengeance. After the reclamation of the world from ork control, the chapter was granted a part of the vast armouries within the secret vaults for their efforts on combating Drazzka’s forces. Some records speculated that they managed to acquired obscured tank variants along with ‘several’ terminator suits.

Deathwatch Service
The Storm Paragons had long since waged war against the xenos. Beginning from their inception during the Bellrath Crusade facing the Hellgrammites all the way to their current feud with orks. As such, given their long service on clashing against xenos, one would expect the Storm Paragons to field many of their Astartes into the Deathwatch to share their skills - however that would not be the case.
Despite the prestigious honour of being inducted into the Deathwatch, the chapter had simply believed it to be simply pointless as they believe they are actively doing the will of the Emperor by exterminating the xenos together as a whole. Battle brothers within the chapter sees the induction as forsaking the Chapter Master’s vow of protecting their sector and a means to that of penance rather than honour.
But the chapter does send battle brothers into the service of the Deathwatch, not out of reluctance but through honouring the tithing oath. Though low in numbers, these veterans had proven themselves worthy for their expertise in combating xenos threats and as such were inducted into the Deathwatch brotherhood.
Often these veterans of the chapter joined the Deathwatch not out of prestige, but rather for personal vendettas. Seeking to learn much in their time within the Deathwatch from members of other chapters. Bonds of brotherhood had been formed and experience shared among brethrens as they dedicated themselves to rid the aliens from the galaxy.
It is known that there are currently only two members of the Storm Paragons known to serve in the Deathwatch.
Cadmus Pollon - He is a Deathwatch veteran of the Storm Paragons, and the only deathwatch member to serve before the Era Indomitus. Originally serving within the lauded 1st Clan company within the ranks of the Hammers of Iron as a veteran Terminator. It is not known what led to his ascension into the ranks of the Deathwatch, however with his skills and the brutal acts committed by his clan company in which he hailed from; none could deny the combat specialities he possessed. In truth, Pollon only accepted the honour of ascension to travel to far-flung galaxies, far from his homeworld in search of the 1st Clan Company’s missing captain. Patient and fervent in his mission to search his beloved captain, he had travelled far and wide and forged bonds with astartes of other chapters. He is known to serve in the Doombreak Watch Fortress - located on the border between Segmentum Solar and Segmentum Tempestus currently.
Kirin - Kirin is the second known Deathwatch veteran hailing from the Storm Paragons, and also a relatively new member recently inducted during the Era Indomitus. A Primaris marine from one of the Unnumbered Sons of Roboute Guilliman’s Torchbearer fleet sent to reinforce the chapter. The Primaris were met with mixed feelings by the chapter, but was ultimately accepted as one of their own. Despite their recent induction, the Primaris had proven themselves worthy and adaptable to battles on the onset; including Kirin. He is rather an aggressive brute known for his ferocity and preference for fighting foes up close. This eventually caught the gaze of his company captain, who recognised his skills and the unyielding determination in combating the xenos. Thus he was given the honour of being included into the Deathwatch; in which he reluctantly agreed. He is known to serve in the Null Breach, a Watch Fortress located in Segmentum Solar.

Notable Members
Chapter Master Varros Tekmerr - Varros Tekmerr was the former first Chapter Master of the Storm Paragons who was a veteran since the Horus Heresy. Originally serving in the ranks of the accursed Destroyer company within the 10th Legion known as the Iron Hands. He would survive the betrayal orchestrated by Warmaster Horus during the killing fields of Isstvan V, retreating with a handful of survivors hailing from the Shattered Legions. The crew would join with Captain Brondius Sal of the 255th company of the Raven Guard legion on his ship - the “Honourable Silence”. Attempting to warn the Primarch Sanguinius of the IXth of Horus’s betrayal, the crew all agreed to reach the homeworld of the Blood Angels for refuge. Entering the star-system ‘Aroglan’, they would find worlds that declared for the Warmaster and Imperial worlds that had splitted themselves apart. The Honourable Silence’s crew would raid and pillage the system in an attempt to weaken Horus’s forces as they made their way to Segementum Ultima. During the perilous journey, Varros would often find himself caught in the preying eyes of the Salamanders. For the sons of Vulkan had long abhorred the idea of destroyers along with its astartes who had bred chaos and catastrophic deaths. Facing multiple threats as a result, especially when a group of Salamanders abandoned Varros during a raid. However, Captain Brondius was able to form a bond with the destroyer - seeking to teach him the ways of war of the Raven Guards in a means of camaraderie during these dark times. Eventually, the bond between the two would greatly influence him and led to integrating it into his chapter to honour their shared brotherhood. The Honourable Silence would reach Segmentum Ultima on the Baal system, however it was with a great cost. Out of the 52 crews of the Honourable Silence and its captain, only four made it out. Varros and what remained of the fifty-three would stay within Baal with many other members of the Shattered Legions, under the governance of Warden Akhad. As the Horus Heresy ended, the survivors were sent back to their respective legions during the Scouring era. Varros would eventually be elevated to the rank of Iron Father, where he always recounted his experiences during the war to initiates of the chapter. During the Bellrath Crusade, he would be chosen to lead the new Storm Paragons chapter to aid the Imperial forces and established his chapter on the world of Krakatoa Minoris. Vowing to protect the system with his chapter. The Chapter Master would lead his Paragons to many glories until the ill-fated defence of Milhand cost his life. During the defence of Milhand, a traitor warband invaded the forge world where the Storm Paragons were quickly summoned. Amidst the discord of battle, Varros would sacrifice himself to take down the Chaos Lord, Arrialos Fellbringer, an act of mutual annihilation. The resulting death of both leaders stunned the chaos warband enough for it to flee, but were not spared from the ire of the Paragons as they mercilessly hunted each member of the warband. The aftermath of the tragic battle saw the High Priest of the Forge World swearing its allegiance to the chapter and establishing the Landath Alliance. The death of Varros would inspire many within the chapter, fuelling them with an unprecedented fury and the notion of sacrifice; thus ensuring his legacy remains.
Captain Terrus Khadar - Terrus Khadar is the current elected-Chapter Master of the Storm Paragons chapter. Formally acquiring the rank as Lieutenant of the 4th Clan Company, he was unexpectedly chosen to lead the chapter by the council of senior commanders. His experiences under Captain Galban had allowed him to be a void operation specialist, however he was also a reserved master-duelist. Keeping his skills at arms and only showing it when the 4th Clan are under assault or during battle. Khadar took the mantle of Chapter Master with great honour, but often felt unworthy of his role despite the urges and encouragement from senior peers. Having led his chapter after the death of Varros, the young Chapter Master would have to undertake the burden of his role and vow. Deciding to lead the chapter to undertake many secret wars behind the glories of cousin chapters. During Abbadon’s 13th Black Crusade, Khadar summoned the 4th and the 8th Clan companies to aid in the defense of the Cadian Gate. Khadar is currently fighting within the Hersmian System during Era Indomitus, last seen leading his brothers at the forefront of battle with brutal efficiency.
Captain Varnead - Captain Varnead was the former captain of the 1st Clan company. A renowned legend whose glorious deeds were recorded deep within the annals of the chapter. Varnead was originally a battle brother from Clan Kaargul, in which he was selected by then Iron Father Varros Tekmerr to join the ranks of the Storm Paragons as his right-hand. Serving alongside the Iron Father during the crusade, he was quickly elevated to the rank of first Captain shortly after the landing on Krakatoa Minoris. Entitled to the 1st Clan company, the honoured captain would have the clan company named after him for his loyalty and valour. Through his leadership, the 1st Clan would earn their brutal reputation for the total annihilation of their foes. Earning the bloodmarked moniker as the "Hammers of Iron". The Clan would go on to prove themselves as the chapter strove evermore to new foes alike, and these wrathful warriors would bring down any foes presented to them. For the remainder of his service, Varnead would lead his "Hammers of Iron" to more successful campaigns, bringing victories and honour to the chapter, until the fateful day where the captain was declared lost. Recorded as lost by the chapter when Varnead's fleet suddenly disappeared into the void pursuing Drazzka's mega fleet. The Chapter to this day still searches for the lost captain of the "Hammers of Iron"; for whatever lies within the warp, the captain must still be alive.
Captain Kisarn Taurokk the Just - Captain Kisarn Taurokk was the former captain of the 6th Clan company. An admired leader within his chapter and widely known for his compassion and patience towards subjects of the Imperium, a trait unheard of within the sons of the Gorgon. A fair individual and an exemplar of a true astartes, thus there was no doubt when he was appointed by Chapter Master Varros to be the chapter's Jury when deeming a heretic’s crime. Captain Kisarn also served as the chapter’s most steadfast diplomat in Imperial relations regarding the chapter and their homeworld. Despite his adoring deeds, Kisarn would die during the battle of Tellan in a selfless show of heroism. During the siege on the palace of the rebel governor of Tellan, he led his battered company on a final suicidal charge at the gate of Slantes to allow the rest of the chapter to usurp the palace. His death would be remembered with his armour and wargear retrieved and stored within the fortress monastery on Krakatoa Minoris.
Captain Aalruk Drosan - Captain Aalruk Drosan was the former captain of the 6th Clan company, replacing Captain Kisarn after his death. Unlike the benevolent Kisarn, Drosan was nothing like his predecessor. He eschewed the mortals around him, treating those not of astartes as weak and with cold mannerisms. His preferred tactic in war was the use of a brutal shock assault, swiftly forcing the entire force of insurrectionists to surrender in a quick succession. The captain was a talented boarding expert, reforming his company into a shield-bearing company who assaults the bowels of ships and massacres its crews. During the 989.M41, the captain would set his eye on the renegade Night Reapers chapter travelling within the Laanah Rifts. Unable to warn high command as the majority clan companies were venturing on Segmentum Obscurus, he took it upon himself to prosecute these renegades. Engaging the renegades, Drosan and his company would be surprised to learn of the Night Reapers' use of xenos-weaponry belonging to the ‘Hellgrammites’. Drosan's strike cruiser the "Adamant Will " would be damaged, and he also gravely wounded. He would begrudgingly retreat back to Krakatoa Minoris and inform local Imperial forces of the threat that now lurks within Segmentum Pacificus. The Imperium, already suspicious of the Night Reapers actions, dispatched the Red Templars and Minotaurs chapters to exterminate the renegades. After many battles fought against the Night Reapers, the renegades would be cornered at the Perun Cross by the Imperial Forces. Eventually the fighting would be so difficult that a Grey Knights strike cruiser Equinox Blade under Brother-Captain Danicus would arrive at the Perun Cross. Authorising Imperial forces to pull back from the space hulk as they conduct a teleport assault. Unbeknownst to all forces outside of the Perun Cross, the salty captain of the 6th had already entered the space hulk and had joined the assault with forces present within. Concern was raised when the Perun Cross structure began to break up into burning fragments, before a series of gigaton-level explosions happened. The demise of the Perun Cross led to the complete loss of the Grey Knights' strike force and a substantial, but undefined number of Minotaurs Space Marines, along with heavy damage to the Equinox Blade and the death of all those left on board. Drosan and his boarding teams were also thought to be lost by those who remained aboard the Adamant Will. Its remaining crew would then return back to their homeworld in bitterness.
Apothecary Maarik
Apothecary Maarik - Maarik is the current Apothecary instated within the 7th Clan Company of the Storm Paragons. A resolute, but surprisingly empathetic individual that valued his brothers in the chapter and the populace of their homeworld. Often seen aiding and collaborating with the local medicae of Krakatoa Minoris with regards to the irises of the populace in the benighted world they dwelled.
Chapter Fleet
The Chapter fleet of the Storm Paragons is known to contain the following starships:
Ducens Noctem (Chapter Flagship, Battle Barge) - 1st Clan Company, 7th Clan Company (occasional), 8th demi-clan company

Lacyraemarta -
Ancient Amager the Black Mamba
The Black Mamba -The origins of this relic remain shrouded in mystery, its discovery and acquisition by the Chapter lost to record and rumor alike. Identified as a Deredeo-pattern Dreadnought — a design thought vanished since the Horus Heresy. Entombed within its ancient sarcophagus lies a figure known only as Amager, a name whispered seldom and known only within the secretive Forge Covenant of the Chapter. To most of the battle-brothers, the warrior within is but a forgotten legend of a different timeline, often spoken of in reverence and unease — a being of darkness known only as the Black Mamba.
