The Storm Knights are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter created during the 19th Founding in mid-36th Millennium from unknown genetic lineage, however, Imperial savants believe they were created from the lineage of the mysterious and enigmatic Dark Angels. The Chapter continuously served the Emperor's will for nearly a millennium until they faced near extinction on the world of Sengor II to an unknown race of xenos. In the current millennium the Storm Knights have faced heavy combat in the Carrobract System, crusading against a never ending horde of cultists, Traitor Astartes and daemons.
Chapter History[]
Chapter Homeworld[]
The Storm Knights' Chapter homeworld is the Imperial death world of Stehlcia, a unforgiving and lethal place. Cursed with eternal storms from brutal tsunamis to deadly dust storms. Most of the planet's surface is barren of life with only a few dwindling lakes left. It is a cruel reminder of the planet's former ecosystem. Home to the ruins of dark age cities, it's rusted skeletal remains having been scavenged and salvaged to sell off-world for centuries. What remains of the local population live in nomadic tribes that are constantly on the move to avoid the deadly storms of Stehlcia.
Fortress-Monasteries[]
Over the 6,000 years of the chapter’s existence they’ve acquired three total bases that they consider their Fortress Monasteries
- The Lightning Castle: The Lightning Castle is considered to be the main fortress monastery of the chapter. It is well known that the higher the level on the Fortress the more ornate and beautiful it becomes. On the tallest peak of the planet’s mountains there lies the Lightning Castle. This fortress is home to all of the chapter’s remaining records and their most sacred of relics.
- The Basilisk’s Horn: This is the chapter’s space station that orbits the homeworld’s moon of Khymeris. This station mysteriously showed up orbiting the planet and the chapter’s reaction was to make expeditions into the station using Khymerian pdf troops and their own neophytes to explore the shadows of this mysterious station.
- The Honor: This is the chapter’s mobile headquarters, this battle barge contains the spoils of war that the chapter has earned. Be it imperial, xeno, or other, with these spoils they trade with the trusted forgeworld of Mereda.
Notable Campaigns[]
- Battle of Xerocrath (Unknown Date) - This was a victorious xenocidal campaign against a nomadic species upon the planet of Xerocrath. The chapter used their orbital weapons to cause massive dust storms that gave their warriors the advantage of blending into the storm. The alien forces were in disarray as the astartes blended into the dust and picked off the aliens, one by one.
- Tolrao Crusade (481-503.M37) - A previously unknown independent human empire known as the Kriden Protectorate wished to expand their territory, they conquered dozens of worlds before the Imperium could respond. This fledgling empire invaded the night world of Sarcoris, there the fledglings built the fortress called the Xantrium
This fortress would be their base of operations for their newly acquired colonies by the Kriden Empire, when the Imperium responded their fleets were caught in an ambush.
how the Kriden knew when and where the Imperial Fleet would materialize from the warp is unknown. but eventually the smaller Kriden fleet retreated back to the world of Akalda, there the Kriden fortified on a downed space station. ----- - Battle for Anoxic'an (999.M37) - This Feral world seemed insignificant to the Imperium only really pressing their warriors into feral regiments to the astra militarum every generation. However near the end of the 37th millennium. That changed when a force of the T'au xenos landed on the planet.
The alien's diplomats swooned the tribal leaders to devote themselves to the Greater Good. When the chapter heard word of this betrayal they took action, accompanying the Astartes were regiments of Grytalen Guardsmen. They descended onto the far side of the planet and made the long march to the alien base. The operation started off successful until an arrogant Nomad Scout failed to assassinate the T'au leader.
Because of this failure the T'au were alerted to the imperial forces, this was followed by an intense battle in the dense jungles. Because of the Nomad's failure he unintentionally caused the death of Storm Captain Eralan, Tempest Marshal Durkorva and his squad. The failed Nomad was harshly punished because of this. What followed was months of rough fighting in the jungles until the imperials broke through the Tau line. After that breakthrough the Chapter and Guardsmen slaughtered the aliens and burned the base to the ground. After the planet was reconquered the chapter showed their wrath to the leaders that betrayed the Imperium.

Primarch's Curse: The Ghosts of Stehlcia[]
This defect is little understood among the brothers of the Apothecarion. What they do know is that the affliction comes in multiple stages
- Stage 1 (Voices of the Past): The beginning stages of the curse is hearing the voices of their fallen Squad Brothers, this could range from warnings to lamentations to pure rage.
- Stage 2 (Visions of the Fallen): When the voices begin to fade the warrior will begin to experience visions through the eyes of long dead brothers. This usually happens in times of sleep or high stress situations.
- Stage 3 (Visits from Ghosts): The final stages of the affliction is hallucinations of dead Dust Brothers, many looked as if they were alive and others wear heavily damaged armour and long decayed skin. These ghosts can range from passive observation to aggressive attacks. The degree to which these hallucinations appear varies, but in a few cases while in heavy combat a Dust can think that there are more battle brothers fighting alongside him than there actually are.
Chapter Belief[]
When a potential recruits becomes a member of the chapter he is given a new name, a combination of both the recruit's birth name and the name of a fallen battle brother. This is done to keep the memory of the fallen alive and to make sure that nothing of the neophyte's past remains with him. When at battle-brother is designated as a veteran or has brought honor to the chapter he is allowed to mark his helmet with a lightning bolt.
The chapter loosely follows the codex-astartes and instead focuses on tenants of what they call the "Dust Tenants". These tenants have been updated and worked on for 6,000 years and the Storm Knights are proud of these tenants more so than the codex astartes.
Chapter Recruitment[]
The Storm Knights recruit from the nomadic tribes of Stehlcia, the Stehlcian tribes see the astartes as spirits of those boys that became lost in the storms, and to the tribes people these ghosts attempt to take their sons into the storm to become one of them. This causes the tribes to be fear and sometimes venerate the warriors while holding their sons close so they are not lost forever. Tribes are unknowingly chosen for potential recruitment when the chapter secretly herds the chosen using their own superstition into hostile zones, there these battles pick out the most capable of the tribes young warriors, after the warriors are picked out the astartes purge the threat and take the potential recruits to the planet’s Fortress Monastery. The first thing the recruits are trained into is swordsmanship, it is not rare for recruits to die from dueling wounds. After a time the recruits are sent into the ruined cities of their world and survive in any way possible such as working in teams or going alone there they must fight against mutant abominations that roam in the cities.

After slaying the mutant king young Kallon was immediately taken by chapter observers. Kallon was forced to take the chapter trials and there he succedded. After successful bonding with the Gene-seed he was placed in a Nomad squad with his first mission being a scouting run during the Lorio Crusade.
