The Spider Lords are a formerly Loyalist Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes created during the ill-fated 21st Founding, the so-called 'Cursed Founding'. This particular founding was notable for a number of Chapters falling into uncontrollable and often spontaneous mutations, aberrant behavior or a susceptibility to falling to the Ruinous Powers. It is believed by Imperial scholars that the Spider Lords genetic lineage hails from the Masters of the Night Chapter, however, it is unknow from which First Founding Chapter their progenitors hail from themselves.

The Spider Lords would later be declared Excommunicate Traitoris for severe mutation aberrations and barbaric practices they carried out. The particulars of the fallen Chapter's genetic failures are unknown, however it is rumoured that during their creation their gene-stock was somehow sabotaged by agents of Chaos during its foundation, like many of the Chapters that arose from this particular founding.

Chapter History[]

The Spider Lords were a formerly loyalist Chapter during their inception, however, due to their aberrant mutations and savage acts committed against civilian populations, the chapter was later declared as traitors.

Although Chapter Master Akabaran Shelob wanted to prove his Chapter's innocence several times to Imperial authorities, it was to no avail. When imperial forces arrived on his world, everything vanished for the master; Shelob and all his battle-brothers managed to flee their home planet Ungoliat, barely escaping with their lives as their doomed homeworld was subjected to Exterminatus. Since then, the Spider Master and his chapter have roamed space as wanted traitors by the Imperium.

Master Askabaran and his librarians continue to search the galaxy for a cure for their Chapter's genetic flaw, to avoid the curse of the spider. The other brothers continue to storm worlds and plunder ships in search of resources, slaves and weapons, vowing one day to take revenge on the Imperium. Those who have fallen under the spider's curse are locked deep within the chapter's black ships, like hungry dogs ready to be fed slave meat by their brethren.

The master of the chapter and his librarians sought the cure of their genetic failure in the hope of saving their brothers from the curse of the spider, it was also with the purpose of returning their Chapter to the arms of their beloved God-Emperor, whom they secretly venerate while their brothers still harbour great resentment towards the Imperium for what happened to Ungoliat. Their fanaticism for the Master of Mankind was lost along with their planet, therefore, they still seek revenge.

The Spider Lords often attack at night, searching and killing their enemies in complete stealth in the shadows waiting for the right moment to attack. When things get complicated they do not hesitate to free their brothers with the Curse of the Spider - warriors completely instinctive and savage, capable of being stronger and more resistant than a normal space marine.

Gene-Seed[]

The genetic seed of the spider lords has a genetic fault in a large percentage of it, having a single margin of 5% as pure, the master of the chapter is here, and 65% give facial features with four jaws, two on each side, and one on top of the other, making the mouth fully open. They also acquire two spider legs on the back that are as hard and sharp as neo-steel, and once they lose one, another grows again. Many of this percentage have altered and larger betcher glands being capable of spewing a corrosive poison and more powerful than an ordinary space marine, capable of opening a power armor in seconds. some manage to have the ability to shed spider webs and many in this percentage begin to show aggressiveness and loss of consciousness.

30% are fully mutated known as the curse of the spider, having a more arachnid face, capable of shedding the same acid but can also shed a silver cobweb so fine, tough and flexible that it can withstand a few bolt rounds before giving way.The whole body is made even harder with several more capable of chitin being more resistant than an average marien. The limbs in certain cases lose them due to totally sharp legs, and in others it completely maintains the arms but in the back more than two pairs of legs are formed. This percentage have completely lost consciousness of who they were before and have become totally wild although they recognize those in the chapter as part of their pac

the percentage of your gene seed is becoming increasingly unstable and it will be a matter of time for the entire chapter to mutate.
