"When Death has an enemy, he calls upon the Sons of Zeus! Unbreakable! Unstoppable! For Humanity! For the Emperor!"
— Hercules Maximus, Chapter Master of the Sons of Zeus

The Sons of Zeus are a loyalist Space Marine Successor Chapter created during the 7th Founding from the stalwart and stoic Imperial Fists in the 34th Millennium. However, some of their gene-seed share some other qualities from another unknown Primarch. These other genetic traits are suspected to have been inherited from the Ultramarines Primarch Roboute Guilliman, but inconsistencies recently with the newly received Primaris gene-seed has proven otherwise. It is now generally believed that some of their genetic heritage is shared with the White Scars Primarch, Jaghatai Khan. With this mixture of gene-seed, the Chapter is known to favor both stalwart defensive and rapid offensive tactics, often making it seem like a wave forcing sand to crash into an immovable wall. So this chapter specializes in mounted warfare, aerial and naval warfare, defensive warfare, and siege warfare as well as supporting a series of specialized combat teams similar to the Kill-Teams utilized by the Xenos-hunting Deathwatch. Even sometimes donating its members to the Deathwatch and further studying them to see how they might improve against the foe.

This storied chapter is famous for their ability to withstand against overwhelming odds and for their unbreakable will. The Sons of Zeus are surprisingly quick on the attack and often show up unexpected and sudden to reinforce the surrounding area with their massive nomad fleet and their current mobile chapter monastery, The Silver Citadel. Indeed, this ability of theirs has lead to great victories during the Indomitus Crusade and has often solidified the regained ground from further discord.

Even before the Indomitus crusade, The Sons of Zeus have gained a reputation of showing up just in time to turn the tide and win battles and wars relatively quickly with their sudden shock attack and defensive tactics. Most of the time, not even the imperial world being under duress knows that this chapter is on their way, allowing the chapter to remain hidden from any enemy espionage, giving them the advantage of surprise which allows them to easily overwhelm enemy defenses and suppress any enemy attacks.

Chapter History

One word descriptor; Unbreakable

The chapters founding is strange in most regards due to it being commissioned by an unknown source. Originally, it was thought that the Highlords of Terra planned it, but it seemed to be a miss calculation by their part. After this discovery, they tried having the chapter disbanded in M36, which was ultimately decided against after the chapter proved themselves highly capable in many forms of combat after obliterating the Alpha Legion trying to start an uprising on the Hive World of Hera, and were instead allowed to exist as sort of a happy accident. Of course, any news of this to be allowed to the chapters knowledge would prove harmful to the chapter. At least, that is what they thought.

When, somehow, the Alpha Legion told the truth to the Chapter during one of their many battles as a form to dampen moral, it was a surprise that the chapter took pride that they earned a place amongst the Imperium's finest. After the inquisition caught wind of the chapters new found discovery, they thought the chapter would turn traitor so they amassed army and a contingency of space marines to confront the Sons of Zeus, but was surprised from the chapters pride in this detail of the founding and found no further need to start a war. Further Investigations led the inquisition to find that the chapter has actually implemented this detail as part of the training process in new recruits, making a new rule that the chapter "Has to earn their keep!". This has created many stalwart and hardworking recruits, never afraid to do what it takes to earn their keep. So, ultimately, this bit of information has become part of the chapters overall culture.

The First 100

Legend of the chapter and its founding was originally made with just 100 scouts, none not yet dedicated to the rank of Space Marine. Non have yet earned their place amongst the sons of Dorn or as the Emperors finest. 12 labors would be inscribed onto those chosen to take this path. Each uniquely inscribed onto the acolyte's flesh, each would have to be witnessed and slashed out with a knife by a battle brother. With no leader, the first 100 took their orders and training under their original chapter, The Imperial Fists, as well as the Ultramarines and White Scars and a handful of their many successor chapters. However, despite not having any leader, one stood out from the rest and would claim the ultimate title of champion, his name was Zeus. Eventually, this demi-gods deeds would become legendary and the chapter became founded under his name, forever being known to all as "The Sons of Zeus".

With Zeus's divine ability to lead stoically as well as his ingenious combat tactics, the chapter would be formed out of the remaining scout companies with their sargents being crowned captains. Out of these first 100, 1000 would be drawn into the chapter over its tenuous creation. Zeus would lead his chapter with the divine will of Rogal Dorn himself, embodying his gene-father in almost every way, except one. Similar to that of Jaghati Khan, Zeus reveled in the thrill of combat, often laughing through pure enjoyment and always taking the chance to prove himself in any challenge. The rest of the chapter took after this, never outwardly speaking of their deeds but instead showing what they are capable of in any chance they got through their actions.

This attitude would form the foundation of the chapter, leading to an extremely durable defensive style tactics, making the enemy break upon them only to strike out with lightning fast attacks to break the enemy assaults' once they were worn thin. Many tactics and deeds were recorded for educational purposes and reused to fight the many enemies of the imperium, more often than not, winning the chapter many victories over the foe. except for one. Indeed, the chapters one weakness is both the Eldari and Drukharri, with both races being highly unpredictable and extremely quick paced. These two foes have brought the chapter low on more than one account. Though, when it concerns the Eldari, unless this chapter absolutely have to, they will avoid the fight directly, preferring to get as much information on the foe as possible. Unlike the Drukharri, in which the chapter has a deep seeded hatred for and thus will not waste an opportunity to strike out at the foe.

Despite this, they have joined forces, though begrudgingly, with the Eldari against greater foes and have received help from the Eldari on numerous occasions. For what end, the chapter suspiciously is unaware. The chapter has almost formed a fragile and temporary accordance with the Eldari that consistently help them out, if it wasn't for Dark Eldar trickery in the Campaign known as "The Trojan Horse". It was during this war campaign that would foresee these two factions eternal hatred for one another, for a slight against the Sons of Zeus is NEVER forgotten.

The Indomitus Crusade

When news that Roboute Guilliman has resurrected and returned to terra to recall all the fleets, the Sons of Zeus were all to ready to return to terra to set out on another crusade. During their return, they encountered an Ork Waaagh! that was ravaging the star system of Graul. Though with direct orders to return to Terra and abandon all current missions, the Sons of Zeus made a fast campaign to obliterate the Orks and evacuate the system. After two weeks of continuous fighting, the Waaagh! was devastated and the star system was evacuated, all too willing to take a holy pilgrimage to the home planet of humanity and the seat of power of the Imperium of Man.

Arriving with their massive fleet and the Silvered Citadel, they were ordered to fortify and defend recovered ground from the enemy. With their massive fleet, the Sons of Zeus were stretched across the stars and fought in many different theatres of war. They would often fight beside other chapters and earned many allies and enemies during this great crusade. They would fight in many different key battles and hold many different worlds back from the brink of destruction. It was during this time that the chapter learned the mastery of fighting Orks and even encountered the Tyrranids and have proven to be a perfect counter for the ravenous horde. With their hyper defensive and sudden fast attack tactics, the Sons of Zeus have found the perfect enemy to destroy.

One such battle with the Tyrranids would almost destroy the 4th company of marines, a company known for their last stands. After the company was replenished with the all new Primaris gene-stock, its veterans rewarded with ranks and gear, they have become an unstoppable force against this new foe. Indeed, many victories and worlds would be saved by the 4th company and their fleet of four light cruisers and six frigates, and of course, the company's battle barge, The Doombearer.

Mobile Protectors

Since the fall of Devein, the brave Sons of Zeus have adapted a mobile defensive strategy, moving from star system to star system. This has proven to be highly effective at sustaining the imperium's losses, due to the chapters ability to take on a massive amount of refugees onto their flag ship, and their current fortress monastery, The Silver Citadel. Which also allows the chapter to lay siege or aid imperial forces and other Space Marine chapters at surprisingly fast speeds. More than one battle has been made decisive due to the Sons of Zeus timely intervention.

This has made the chapter famous for its ability to aid its allies, allowing the chapter to earn many battle honors as well as many allies along their long voyage throughout the stars. Not all hope is lost when you can call upon The Sons of Zeus! For when an ally calls for aid, the chapter responds immediately, often not sending a warning and just appearing in real space and immediately sending what they can spare. This has given the chapter a highly reliable friendship with their allies, at least on their part. Funnily enough, the chapter typically asks nothing in return for their aid, stating that "We all take our due in service to the great Emperor."

This tactic has also been used against the chapter, luring them into many traps and making them suffer for having a need to aid those closest to them. The Alpha Legion and Black Legion has sabotaged their generosity so much that, now, all allied chapters and imperial forces must know what is known as the primordial code, a ever changing code system that the leaders of those forces have in their possession. The item in question was found upon the Silvered Citadel and has been used to deter many would be tragedies.

It is to be noted that every company has their own battle fleet. When combined with the overall fleet, the overall power of the chapter is devastating. This tactic also allows every company to act independently of one another and allows them to cover more ground when pressing the attack. This can make sending more than one company all the more effective. On each battle barge assigned to each company, there is at least three ready to fight guard regiments as well as the companies main force and place of operations, each containing a ready to go attack/defense force situated for any problem that the chapter may come across.

The Heroes of Humanity

The Tyrranid Threat & March of The Solblades

With the rise of the Tyrranid threat, the Sons of Zeus have found that their typical tactics of warfare proved extremely effective against the ravenous hordes and gargantuan monstrosities of the hive fleets. When Solar Leontus ordered a new defensive crusade against the encroaching and growing Tyrranid threat, code named "The Solblades", The Sons of Zeus were ordered to defend an entire sub-sector against the xenos foe. With renewed numbers, they barricaded the sub-sector and stood firm against the foe, holding off the enemy and even forcing them off many systems and losing only some to the ever hungering hive mind.

With their aid and some from their nearby allies, despite being cut off from the rest of the greater imperium due to the shadow in the warp, the sub-sector was held firm. However, not all victories were heroic in nature. The Sons of Zeus suffered a high amount of casualties by the end of the war and for every planet lost, though another would be held, it would only be a matter of time that the chapter would face opposition from other forces looking to take advantage of the weakened state of the chapter. Old enemies such as the Alpha Legion and Black Legion allied with a Iron Warrior warband would strike out at the wounded but victorious chapter, taking and opportunity to attack the chapter which was unable to call for aid while fending off the Tyrranid threat.

For this, the chapter suffered more, having their beloved chapter home ship, The Silvered Citadel, under constant siege. Still, they held stubbornly, despite losing the entire 3rd, 5th and 6th companies due to the siege. They held until reinforcements showed up from a new chapter formed for the soul purpose of purging the ravenous xenos threat. Though the new chapter struggled against the chaos veterans, they bought the Sons of Zeus enough time to recuperate what they could and plan a counter offensive. One that would force their old enemy back into the warp from whence they came!

After the siege was finished and their old enemies gone, the Sons of Zeus welcomed their new salamander successor allies, The Flaming Edge, and together held the incoming Tyrranid swarm back to the outer rim of the sub-sector. The veteran chapter, The Sons of Zeus, teaching the new chapter many different tactics and strategies while The Flaming Edge numbers made up for the Sons of Zeus unfortunate circumstance. During the crusade, the Sons of Zeus would gain many new recruits, with many scouts finishing their labors and a small influx of Primaris marines to refill their previously lost 5th company.

Over the course of the crusade, the chapter and their new found allies would share a bond unlike any other chapter, both due to the battles to come and similarities in perspective, culture and care for humanity, despite both chapters having entirely different ways of warfare. The Flaming Edge favored close quarters flame weaponry and close combat with flaming blades, while the Sons of Zeus favored mounted rapid offensive warfare and high volume defensive gunlines to hold any gained ground. Despite this difference, the two chapters worked perfectly together, each covering the others weaknesses and improving upon each others strengths.

During this campaign, no company earned more names in the Halls of Heroes than the 4th company. At every turn, desperate and hard won victories were claimed by this company, ever relentlessly battling from system to system, never taking a moment to recuperate and only scavenging what they needed to continue their fight. Even when the chapter became besieged by their old foes, a small strike force of the 4th company would covertly siege the Iron Warrior battle barge, The Fist Breaker, and completely take them out of the fight, leaving any fighters that were attacking the chapters main fleet stranded which were eventually picked off and killed. With this, Lieutenant Tyros Armstrong would be promoted to company captain due to the company's previous captain dying from grievous wounds in a combat against a Tyrranid Hive lord. Tyros took up the responsibilities well and would earn a reputation for his relentless attitude and stoic determination.

Notable Campaigns

The Sons of Zeus are known as "The Traveling Defenders" or "The Frenzied Storm" due to their immediate response to threats near their constantly traveling massive fleet guarding their home ship, "The Silvered Citadel". Due to their mobility, as well as their fleets greater capabilities, they have proven themselves as deadly adversaries and much welcomed allies. Even so, they have had their fair share of difficulties as any other chapter. They have launched and have been involved in many Crusades and Campaigns throughout the imperium and have been marked as a blessing by many and have made many chapters their allies, but also proving some to be less than favorable. Especially those hell bent on unnecessary destruction and those who can't tell friend from foe.

  • The Devein Crusade - 'The Crusade of Vengeance' ( M34-M42)

Since the tragic loss of their home and founding chapter master to the archenemy, the Sons of Zeus have vowed to wipe the stars clean of the chaos filth. They scour the stars, defending the emperors realm against this foe with impunity and vengeance. With the wrath of the emperor, and with the vengeance of their people, the Sons of Zeus will destroy the dark gods and those that worship them. Not for zeal, nor for the inquisition, but because of vengeance.

  • Battle for Hera (M36 )

The Battle for Hera was more of an arduous campaign spanning nearly 100 years. This campaign involved well over 70% of the total chapter, several Imperial guard regiments, and more than two xenos species and two chaos factions. The enemies in question were the Death Guard, Alpha Legion, Drukharri, and Eldari. The planet was forced into war and split by civil war when the Alpha Legion coaxed an uprising and with their fragile alliance with the Death Guard, converted nearly 65% of the planets population to Nurgle via viral disease. With the planets massive population, with roughly 17 billion according to its last census, this posed a dangerous threat to the surrounding sector. The Sons of Zeus responded with the might of their chapter and brought 5 different guard regiments to reinforce the dwindling and desperate PDF forces that were holding the planet against all odds. After a long and bloody campaign of dissolving the leading government, killing billions of zombies and heretics as well as nearly wiping out all the heretic Astartes involved, the chapter had sustained tremendous loses, including their former chapter master, Perseus Adamantine and foresaw Theseus The Sage as the new chapter master. This campaign will go down in the chapters history as a defining moment of pure will and would solidify many enemies and allies for the chapter.

  • The Graxis Crusade (M39-M41 )
  • The Indomitus Crusade (M42-Ongoing)

The Sons of Zeus were pivotal in many warzones due to their massive fleet and, of course, The Silvered Citadel proving to be a near indestructible defensive thorn in the enemies side. Since the awakening of Roboute Guilliman was celebrated amongst the chapter, The Sons of Zeus dedicated their entire fleet, which was previously being dedicated to defending many weak spots of the imperium, to Guilliman's call for aid. With their fleet on the move, they guarded and reinforced newly reclaimed territory, protecting it from any counter offensive, as well as supporting in greater offensive naval and siege warfare, often fighting in battles other Ultramarine chapters were locked in and proving themselves to be a much welcomed ally, doing whatever it takes to claim victory. It was also around this time that the chapter started forging a strong bond with the White Scars chapter and some of its successors, proving to have much in common.

  • The Damocles Crusade (---.M42)

Though The Sons of Zeus didn't directly participate in the Damocles Crusade in the way of open battle, they used the war as an opportunity to test new scouts as well as learn about the new foe of the imperium known as the "Tau". Over the course of the crusade, The Sons of Zeus will gather much needed information on their new foe which may prove to be useful in any future conflicts with them.

  • Defenders of Man (---.M42)
  • 13th Black Crusade (ca. 999.M41)

When news of a another Black Crusade fell on Cadia, the Sons of Zeus answered the call for help in full. Unfortunately, the Sons of Zeus would enter into a conflict with a chaos warband on their way to Cadia. Iron Warriors had interrupted the Sons of Zeus before warp translation and locked them into a boarding action concerning the Silver Citadel. The Warband was wiped out within weeks with no significant loses to the chapter. It arrived late as Cadia was on fire. The Sons of Zeus put most of the 4th company on the planets surface and the rest to fight and engage in boarding actions with enemy fleets. The 4th company had to be rebuild for they stayed with the Cadians and fought alongside them until the planet was shattered by the Black Legions Black Star Fortress. Since then, the chapter has held the line in evacuating as much as they can in order to space people the horrors of the great rift. When Roboute Resurrected, the Sons of Zeus were all too ready to get revenge on the enemies of man!

  • The Death of The Hydra (M37-M40)
  • The Trojan Horse (M40)
  • The Patrida Evrima (M42 - Ongoing)

The Patrida Evrima was founded upon the new hope instilled within the chapter. One that involves them potentially finding a new homeworld. This idea was formed during the Indomitus Crusade, which saw the chapter gain new favor and has whisked away the wary eye of the Inquisition, at least, for the time being. Chapter Master Hercules Maximus himself stated that through the Indomitus Crusade, we shall find new skies to defend and cultivate a planet to call our own. Since then, The Sons of Zeus have been exploring the many different planets they fight for during the Indomitus Crusade for habitation for their people. With Roboute Guilliman's permission, they shall once again be able to call a planet home, but not without a war that will test the chapters indomitable spirit. A war that would drag old allies into the fray and establish old bonds, as well as old enemies to establish new wounds.

Chapter Homeworld

The Silvered Citadel

They are a fleet-based chapter due to their beautiful jungle home-world of Devein getting destroyed by a combined effort by the Alpha Legion and Black Legion. Now, they travel across the imperium in a massive continent-sized silver and chromatic ship that looks like an blossomed flower. Inside the flower supports more than 9 billion citizens, half are from Devein and the other half come from refugees from all over. Despite its massive population, the ship is very ideal for living and supports a high average life span. This is due to what is now dubbed "The Silver Citadel" being a Dark Age of Technology vassal, but one without an A.I. This was a prime target for the chapter after the God-Emperor would allow them to find it. The Silver Citadel was once a housing vassal and supports the means to live inside of it easily. The ship supports a near-impregnable titanium and ceramite alloy with dark age force field tech that allows it to shrug off moon-sized asteroids and warheads. Due to this, as well as all the other luxurious tech stored and used by the ship, many people live fulfilling lives, both in their own guard regiment and through normal lives duties, supporting the lowest suicide rate per person within its population compared to the rest of the imperium

With the discovery of this technology, the chapter has also found many STCs that support advanced cybernetics, allowing the medical industry to thrive on the ship and those that can afford the technology outside the ship. The cybernetics tend to be high-tech with a focus on functionality and form, often supporting a form of metallic bone structure with micro-Nano-fiber muscles, with either white and red or black and red variants.

The humans of this ship, and that of Devein, are often found to be more attractive with a very sturdy and fit physic and higher intellect than others. This is due to the number of nutrients and daily exercise and study routines that are enforced on them. Each citizen has to reach a monitored quota of exercise, both physically and mentally, per day in order to receive their rations. This produces very physically and mentally capable and disciplined soldiers and scholars for the imperium.

In truth, this is due to the chapter's rigid and sensible politics, laws, and infrastructure within the silvered citadel. More than that, though they show a stoic outlook and philosophy when it comes to life, The Sons of Zeus are humanitarian and capricious in nature, supporting a gift for hit and run and siege warfare, as well as a remarkable understanding of leadership and a heart for their people. When it comes to the needs of their people and protecting them, The Sons of Zeus show no exemption.

Because of this, many from The Silvered Citadel make it as high-ranking imperial and naval officers, often serving alongside other Space Marine Chapters as naval advisors or admirals.

Devein

Located in the Ultima Segmentum and between to the Maelstrom and the Cicatrix Maledictum, Devein is a lush jungle and ocean feudal world famously known for its supply of wood and high nutrient producing foods. The planet is a borderline pleasure world, known for its environmental beauty. The planet was selected for the chapter due to its environmental dangers and the inhabitants of the world being a hardy and stoic people, which look like a similar mix of the ancient Terran Polynesian, Mongolian and Greeks. They also share similar customs and philosophy to these three cultures, welcoming the grand imperium with open arms during the Great Crusade mean while sharing their stoic philosophies with those willing to listen and often appearing in leadership roles such as navy admirals, officers, advisers, diplomates, strategists, and appearing in their own regiments which are now disbanded and transformed into specialized fighting regiments similar to the Kasrkin or Tempestus Scions, specializing in small high tech attack groups capable of punishing enemies behind their front lines and operating primarily on highly specialized missions that no one else would take. Which in turn gives them a reputation for being highly effective, skilled and dangerous.

Devein was a beauty to behold. There is no other planet like it in the greater imperium, supporting its own variety of docile mega fauna and flora on land and territorial mega fauna and forested mega flora in the planets many oceans and lakes. The planet is roughly the size of terra, only being slightly smaller with two rotating moons, in which the chapter had two fortresses built upon, one of them being the fortress monastery known as "The Fist of Thunder". Devein was widely known to have frequent thunder storms and hurricanes that would devastate any lesser beings on the planet, all except for one time of year for a whole month during the summer, in which the planet had clear skies and most of its flora and fauna had their matting season during this time of year. This event was known as "The Great Union", due to most of the planet, even the more territorial creatures, becoming more docile and lived mostly harmoniously together for the short period of time.

Devein was ultimately destroyed by a conjoined effort of the Alpha Legion and the Black Legion and was swallowed whole by a massive warp storm. Unfortunately, the majority of The Sons of Zeus as well as most of the guard regiments from Devein were off fighting distant wars, so the planets defense was left open. By the time Zeus returned home, with half of his chapter behind him, the fortress moons have fallen and the legions of chaos were now invading the planets surface. The brave defenders held them off long enough for their people to hide in specilized bunkers build to withstand the horribly devastating storms that were all to common on the planet while the Sons of Zeus destroyed the traitors navy, but at great cost to their own. For 20 long years these wars were fought, with little to no help from the greater imperium for they were dealing with more crucial fights in their mind.

After a long fought battle and saving many lives, the Sons of Zeus were ultimately unable to save the planet and the solar system that it inhabited. The Black Legion and Alpha Legion had brought forth a massive warp storm that swallowed the planet whole, forcing the survivors to evacuate from the planet and risk a maneuver through the warp, a maneuver in which two of the remaining three star ships remaining got lost within the warp. The chapter still searches for these lost ships, The Odyssey and The Guardian.

After a fight with two chaos lords from both legions, as well as a daemon prince summoned onto this reality, Zeus was mortally wounded by a cursed and poisoness blade. Even after this, he held these three off and holding his own against them. killing a chaos lord of the Black Legion and a summoned Daemon prince before he was wounded by a sneak attack from the Alpha Legion Chaos Lord. He still helped his people escape and survived 100 long and painful years, forcing himself to endure until his people can rebuild their lives at their new home, which he dubbed "The Silver Citadel". For this space faring marvel held beauty liking to that of sterling silver. It was a space ship from "The Dark Age of Technology" and hosted many sustainable and comfortable ways of living.

Though he had found his people their new home, his heart burned with absolute rage at his failure to protect his old home. This deep seeded hatred will effect not just Zeus, but all of those who once called Devein home, fostering a long grudge war between the Alpha Legion and The Sons of Zeus, dubbed "The Devein Crusade" or better known by the chapter as "The Crusade of Vengeance!", a crusade that will see the utter destruction of the Alpha Legion by The Sons of Zeus

Zeus had a ceremony of death in which those closest to him him cut out his heart and wrapped it in black soft cloth and cemented it in liquid obsidian as a way to honor the people of Deveins tradition, which later became the chapters tradition for ceremony of their fallen. Since he had two hearts, as do most space marines, one was kept by the chapter and is held on the throne ship in a sacred armory, and the other is on The Silver Citadel, on display for all to see and pay thanks too. The Sons of Zeus will carry one this tradition, giving one heart to the Space Marines family and putting another heart in their "Hall of Myth and Heroes" upon the Silvered Citadel for all to see. This is to represent what the chapter is in a constant fight for, the Emperors Imperium and its people.

Headquarters: The Silvered Citadel

Companies

1st Company: Split into two parts. The first half being called "The Heroes of Hercules" and the second half " The Wrath of Zeus!" The first half is completely dedicated as Hercules personal guard, hand picked from the finest heroes of the chapter by Hercules himself, many members often found during famous last stands or as lone survivors. Together, these soldiers have an unshakable bond and fiercely protect one another and wreak devastation against any who would be dumb enough to oppose them. They are the inventors of the adopted tactic known as "The Moving Fortress", which the chapter has implemented in every company besides that of the scout companies. The Wrath of Zeus is a specilized part of the first company completely filled with terminators and dreadnaughts who are either carried into battle, teleport or are drop podded right where the chapter needs them to be in order to devastate the enemy. Like a storm, they strike swiftly to break the enemy before holding their position stubbornly for the outer assault to catch up so they may leave and strike again or form a phalanx to hold their ground. This second half is assigned to the First Captain, for he usually accompanies them while donning his relic terminator armor into battle.

2nd Company: Primarily, the second company mostly consists of veterans and honored heroes of the chapter. Both from the Speed Force and from The Wall, these heroes work as shining examples of the chapters might and each warrior is said to be a one man army. Extremely skilled sharpshooters, riders, fighters, exemplars, each warrior tested in the fiercest of battles where even angels falter. It is here that the warriors of the chapter are tested, for when the 2nd Company commands the field, the enemy demands all manner of respect. First Captain Adonis Froxis commands this company as well as the famed "Wrath of Zeus", in which he arrives with the second half of of the 1st Company, veteran terminators clad in ancient relic terminator armor, to reinforce and strike out the enemy like thunder strikes it prey.

3rd Company:

4th Company:

5th Company: Once known as a general company as dictated by the Codex Astartes, the fifth company has recently been completely wiped out, except for a single marine, simply known as Umbra, who was in service to the noble Deathwatch at this time. Upon the company's unfortunate destruction, chapter master Hercules Maximus ordered Umbra's return immediately. Upon Umbra's arrival, he was greeted with the unfortunate news that all his battle brothers were killed and that he is the only member left from the original 5th company. However, due to his remarkable service not only to the chapter but also the Deathwatch, Hercules saw fit to crown him captain of the 5th company. Upon this promotion, Umbra asked for special permission to rework the 5th company into an idea of his own. A company primarily focused on infiltration, sabotage, assassination, ambush, gorilla warfare, as well as the study of the enemy and their motives and tactics in order to better siege them. Though hesitant at first, Hercules allowed it once Umbra passed through the Rubicon Primaris and created his own small phobos task force which successfully infiltrated and destroyed an entire Chaos war fleet that was harassing the Sons of Zeus for months, with surprisingly little to no casualties. Since then, Umbra has successfully restocked the fifth company entirely with stealth focused war gear and reinforced tactics akin to that of the Ravenguard chapter. Tactics he learned and adapted to from his close bonds with members from the Ravenguard chapter, and their successors her served with within the Deathwatch. Except with the soul intention and focus of sieging the enemy unnoticed, like a terminal cancer hidden from any sense of sight, only ever noticed when it is too late to act. Their structures, both physical or otherwise, fall around them without any chance of retaliation. Since its reform, the chapter has seen a large amount of success within its missions and commonly dedicate its members into the Deathwatch as a mark of honor, adopting this tradition due to their favored company captain, Umbra.

9th Company: Primarily known as a fast attack air force dedicated company. Every marine in this company has their own flyer. Every marine is addicted to modifying, maintaining, customizing and mastering their dedicated flyers to go faster, hit harder and perform better than most. They tend to form an unbreakable bond with the machine spirit within their flyer and spend the vast majority of their time, both on and off the field, racing one another and working on their flyers, always competing with one another on who is and who has the better flyer. Often, this company is sent out with squads of 3 to 6 flyers, with a Eagle (Sargent) at their front. The Captain of this company is Killikoes Artemis, a renowned and ancient captain. When this company descends upon its prey, the loud and thunderous roar of its engines as well as the yellow and white colors of their flyers make like thunder coming forth to strike out like the wrath of the Emperor. The power of the heavy weapons striking hard at the enemies weaker defenses and opening lines of opportunities for their allies to strike out. This company is often paired with other companies and can be seen in just about every aspect of war, such as naval, Arial, siege, defense, in space, if you can fly there, this company will dominate its skies. This company is known as one of the hardest working companies and are widely respected among the chapter, despite its primarily supportive role.

The Moving Fortress (The Wall)

The Sons of Zeus support their own form of combat doctrine, mixing 4 full man squads of Aggressors, 3 full man squads with all forms of Centurions, 4 full man squads of Heavy Intercessors, 4 squads of Eradicators, 2 full squads of hellblasters, paired potentially with one or more dreadnaughts, with a Command Squad, Chaplain and a Liberian at its center from many different companies. This Tactic is known as "The Wall", or "The Moving Fortress". It is a mobile defensive phalanx capable of utter obliteration of the enemy within its path. It is the needle driving into the heart of the enemies defenses while awaiting the hammer that is the Speed Force to deliver the final strike, often causing the enemy to either retreat or try to take on The Wall from all sides, all the while they make a highly defensive position. Which is when the famed Speed Force get to show off their talents.

Hercules himself utilizes this Doctrine and built a specialized strike force out of the first half of the 1st company just for this tactic. He hand picked marines who have shown promise or highly talented heroes of the chapter to fit into this role. When he takes the field with this specialized force, the enemy becomes nothing more than shredded corpses and mangled bodies, either dying at their feet or running away like cowards. No siege last too long and no defense holds stronger than Hercules and his band of elite heroes of the chapter, praised time and again for dominating the enemy.

The Speed Force (The Wave)

Like a wave crashing into a wall or cliff, the speed force surrounds the enemies outer, now exposed, flanks and rear, forcing them to crash into the meat grinder that is The Wall. They hit with such sudden speed and ferocity that a warning almost never gets through by the outer ranks. Only the mangled screams and the sound of speed bike and land speeder engines followed by an armored column of tanks. This causes mass confusion among the enemy ranks and at this point, many break free in a desperate attempt to save their own life, which ultimately almost always ends in failure as they are cut down by scout bikes taking out stragglers like vultures to a corpse.

Further more, the chapters air force sweep the enemies heavy guns at neck break speeds and accuracy, while also proving to pain any approaching reinforcements, softening them up before they can prove to be effective. With the combined tactics mentioned, it easily causes fear and panic amongst enemy ranks. All the while, The Wall breaks the enemies center of defense and challenges any leaders itching for a fight, allowing them to enter The Wall only to be potentially eviserated by the company champion or captain in a one on one fight, further harming the enemies moral.

These combined tactics often win them many battles, especially against slower moving armies or armies too chaotic to form an counter front. Even in battles where this tactic proves unsuccessful, it is still a devastating threat on top of the enemies front line, all the while costing the chapter very little in the way of casualties and resources.

All The While...

Of course, they still support standard combat tactics and doctrines and often utilize them to hold key strategic points as well as saving imperial citizens from further harm. They also use the 3rd through 5th companies to push through places the Speed Force or The Wall can't get to in order to clear it up and build makeshift fortifications on them to better hold a choke point over the enemy. With veteran terminator squads from the 1st company, as well as First Captain Adonis Froxis, awaiting on the sidelines for an order of reinforcement, able to immediately send aid to whichever force needs them most.

Designated Marksman

Every squad, even for close combat or fast attack, has a designated marksman who is specifically trained and equipped to take out very specific targets. Some may carry around a Consternator Pattern Bolt Sniper Rifle equipped with specilized heavy krak ammunition that can both penetrate extremely heavy armor or cover, as well as poison the targets nervous system. This ammunition's can be traded out for a specilized EMP round to take out vehicle engines and technologies with ease. These marines are cold and unrelenting, giving no care who they hurt in order to get a perfect shot on their target. They paint the opposite side of their upper body and helmet yellow and leave the rest of their body painted black. Instead of their squad designators, it is instead a red cross hair with a bronze skull at its center. They support a yellow trim for their shoulders and yellow gauntlets like their brothers. These sharp shooters are designated like this for a reason, so that allies know to get out of their way when the sharp shooter spots their target or is ordered to take out a specific target. They wage into battle with only three clips of ammunition, two with specilized krak ammunition known as "Zeus's Thunder" and one with the EMP rounds, only using it when absolutely necessary. Typically using a standard bolt pistol or combat knife for normal fights. They are dubbed "Stalkers" or "Hunters" for their ability to effectively and efficiently take out high value targets upon the battlefield at a far range, only revealing their skill when it is needed, for every kill is a work of art for them, one they treasure above life itself.

Chapter Recruitment

The recruitment begins with acolytes who are selected at a young age and raised through the intense training and hardships placed upon them, often being recruited within The Silvered Citadel or other planets The Sons of Zeus have erected a fortress on. Every Acolyte/Scout must past 12 labors randomly inscribed onto them in ink in order to become a fully-fledged space marine. Once a labor is completed and witnessed before the Scout Captain or Sargent, the scout may make a mark through the Tattoo with a knife, giving the scout their badge of success. Once a Marine, they are allowed to revisit old family and friends in order to allow them to hold onto their humanity and teach them what they are fighting for, both the imperium and its people. Occasionally, they may revisit their family for 1 day during a event known as "Elyson", which may only happen to Marines who are not currently engaged in combat and only happens once every Terran year. This holiday is celebrate similar to how Christmas is celebrated, with the Marine usually bringing home some otherworldly trophies or gifts as well as being allowed to receive 1 gift themselves. Furthermore, it is tradition to cut out the right eye during their final initiation and inject themselves with a serum that, for a weaker body, would often kill its user if they lack the willpower to endure through the pain.

The serum is made out of nerve deadening agents and chemicals that induce extremely intense version of symptoms such as dry mouth, pink eye, nausea, a variety of migraines, pain similar to being burned alive spread throughout the body, pain similar to an infection located throughout the skin, as well as a variety of really bad psychedelic effects that induce a bad psychedelic trip. These symptoms can last up to a month, in which case the initiate is placed in a 10 foot by 10 foot padded room until they reach the end of their journey. After these events, the initiate will cut out their right eye in front of their new chapter company and stomp on it. Afterwards, the company welcomes them in with open arms and allows them a rest period of 1 week before they are allowed to revisit their family and friends for 2 Terran days. Afterwards, they are sent off where they are needed to the many front lines of the imperium, or sent to guard as reinforcements to planets with fortresses on them, or to join the imperial fleet.

When it comes to the new Primaris Marines, due to what is famously known as "The Adjustment", only veteran marines or honored marines are allowed to become Primaris marines. When the Chapter received their shipment of the new Primaris Space Marines, they shipped, en masse, all the new marines on suicide missions throughout the Imperium. Well over the sum 700 out of the 1,000 marines were killed. Those who returned successfully were accepted into the culture and honored. Those who died were forgotten. This was known as "The Adjustment", for when the new Primaris returned, many of the chapters veterans transformed themselves into the new Primaris while new recruits were allowed to be recruited through the chapter's normal means of doing so via; Acolyte, Sentry (Scout), Firstborn Devastators, Firstborn Tactical/Assault, Veteran status.

Chapter Beliefs & Traditions

Every acolyte/scout must past 12 labors randomly inscribed onto them in ink in order to become a fully-fledged space marine. These labors can be any where from saving a young child to killing a Ork Warboss in hand to hand combat. This makes recruiting new fully fleshed-out marines difficult, which is why they don't follow the Codex Astartes in terms of recruitment, though their chapter fleet never exceeds 1,000 Marines, their numbers can be found spread throughout the imperium on fortresses erected on planets that they have protected in the past. Though not even they have over 100 marines each and they operate independently from the rest of the chapter, only ever to be reunited during a Last Wall Protocol.

Once a Marine, they are allowed to revisit old family and friends in order to allow them to hold onto their humanity and teach them what they are fighting for, both the Imperium and its people.

It is tradition to cut out the right eye during their final initiation and inject themselves with a serum that, for a weaker body, would often kill its user if they lack the willpower to endure through the pain. They do this to teach endurance and to emulate what Zeus Ena Mati, their founding chapter master, who was renown for losing his right eye, and his life saving a solid 50% of the planets population, during the battle for Devein. This is honorific and a judgement call all in one.

Strangely, the chapter don't worship the God-Emperor like other Space Marines might. Instead, they believe in the Imperial Truth but still remain fiercely loyal to the Emperor and their primary gene-sire, Rogal Dorn. They uphold the belief that the Emperor knows best and whatever may come, it is their duty to protect the people of the Imperium. As you could imagine, this has led them to be under suspicion from the Inquisition. Though the Chapter, and its members have proven themselves loyal to the Emperor time and again, never leaving a slither of disloyalty or distain for the Golden Throne. Even when their homeworld burned, and the greater Imperium ignored their call for aid, they remained loyal and vowed to hunt the Alpha Legion to the bitter end, which began the Devein Crusade, also known as 'The Crusade of Vengeance' by those within the chapter, in which still continues to this day. This is why they are always on the move, forever hunting the Alpha Legion as well as any traitor legion that dares cross their path.

Despite them only having one eye, The Sons of Zeus are renowned marksman and have gained acute senses accordingly, allowing them to still be fully functional despite only having their one working eye.

While accepting the Codex Astartes as a tactical marvel and a piece of art in literature and genius, the Sons of Zeus failed to recognize it as the standard or "law" of how a Space Marine should be. Despite this, they utilize the book where they can and use it as a primer for training new marines as well as a guide while on the field. Though they never use it for more than its worth and often make small changes to the tactical guidelines as situations deem fit.

The chapter believes in earning your keep as well as that no deed is to great in the name of the imperium. The Sons of Zeus humbly believe that every man, women and child have to earn their way in this world through hard work, discipline and perseverance. Without these three, one can easily fall to chaos and the false promises that they present. For hard work will keep you distracted and self reliant. Discipline will keep you organized and efficient. Perseverance will keep you strong and content. All of these attributes keep you from wanting which ultimately keeps Chaos at bay. And so, the chapter and the people that are protected by them, put these three attributes at the highest priority and live by them each and every day without break. After all, how can you be tempted when you have already what it is you want and need?

The 12 Labors

Each warrior in the chapter must succeed in their 12 labors or die doing so. Every labor is a tenuous act requiring the young Sentry (Scout) to perform beyond what would normally be required of them from other chapters to become fully fledged space marines. As you could imagine, this makes recruitment all the more difficult. Luckily, their gene-seed is adequately supplied despite the common intrusion forced upon them by their arch enemies, the Alpha Legion, and the chapters in ability to produce gene-seed naturally, having only 1/4 of their total chapter with the ability to produce gene-seed.

These labors force the Sentry to conquer what may be perceived as impossible by other chapters, with some deeds requiring the Sentry to kill such a foe as an Ork Warboss, while others simply require them to save a mortal child. Both can prove fatal more times than not, hence why the chapter is allowed to have more than the allotted number of space marines that the codex Astartes normally allows. In order to make up for their above average numbers, each time they participate in a war for a planet, they must erect a massive fortress onto the planet near key strategic points and leave behind five squads of marines to defend it, which is typically the 10th company, who often see fresh Marines enter their ranks more than any company.

Due to the impeccable nature of the 12 labors inscribed on each Sentry's flesh, those who survive these trials of character are reformed into mighty and independently capable warriors. They are taught to fight the fiercest battles before they are gifted their first set of power armor. For this, each warrior within a squad supports a unique personality and are more often than not capable of performing in missions in which they are alone. Together, however, the brotherly bond these Space Marines share see them through the thickest of last stands and often out perform other chapters in certain areas. Due to this, the chapters and allies they often fight beside revel in their mastery for battle and find it easy to respect each marines ability, often fostering and forming a bond with those they fight beside.

The nature of the 12 labors falls on the founding chapter master, Zeus Ena Marti, and the first 100. Each man would have to prove that they are indeed the Emperors finest and are worthy of wielding his name into battle. Each man would have to be capable of tasks that would lay low most other marines from other chapters, to achieve the impossible. Each man would have to hold humanity to its highest standard, as imposed by the Emperor himself. Each man would have to assure humanities safety and continuation even if it costs him his own life, for he is ultimately sacrificial in the Emperors grand plan for humanity.

"To die for humanity is to die for the Emperor. Never forget. Never relent." - Zeus Ena Marti final words.

Gene-Seed

Mutations and Interesting Characteristics

Having one of the most stable gene-seeds out of all the Primarch's as well as being hand-picked from some of the Imperium's most physically capable, it comes as a surprise for the Sons of Zeus to have any form of mutation. Luckily, they only endure three. After the process of the gene-seed has taken place, the marines gain golden glowing eyes with red centers in them. This is due to Devein having a high amount of very specific nutrients that can be found either in Devein's past or on The Silver Citadel that comes from a plant similar in appearance to the sunflower except as massive a skyscraper, and with one large red circle at its middle and having bright brown bark thicker than an oak tree. These plants have been saved and planted on planets visited by the Sons of Zeus as a memento to the one planet they couldn't save, their own.

The second mutation has to be their physical strength. Pound for pound, the Sons of Zeus are double the physical strength than most other Space Marines. Where some can move tanks, these marines can move trains. Though, this presents an interesting issue. Due to their increased muscle mass as well as their ability to rip limbs off by a mere tug, their bodies require more nutrients than other Space Marines. For this, they can "starve" quciker on the battle field unlike other Space Marines from other chapters. Because of this, they have invented a even more highly nutritious food from a mega flora that was native to their home planet of Devein, and mixing the normal gel that is inscribed to many other space marines as a dietary supplement. This new form of nutritious gel can harm other marines not from this chapter and will even kill normal humans.

The third mutation involves the common problem of not producing a second gene-seed like other chapters. These can lead to a shortage in available gene-stock, making the defense and acquirement of vat grown gene seed all the more important for this chapter. If any form of interruption is introduced, especially during a long campaign, it can be devastating for the chapter and hence why they typically are allowed to recruit beyond the allotted number of Astartes typically assigned to them.

Due to their gene-mixture, many who are from the Sons of Zeus look mixed between Greek and Pacific Islander (Samoan), with a hint of Native American, and so to do many of the people on board The Silvered Citadel and from Devein. Unsurprisingly, they adopt many different facets from these cultures, often proving to be more superstitious than expected and living for the thrill of battle and honor, as well as honoring their peoples ancestors and taking great care when it concerns the traditions of their people as well as the people of other chapters. Furthermore, they have a very strong hold on stoic philosophy and practice it daily. When it comes to their people, they are very protective and are willing to risk everything to protect their people and their ancient traditions. This also applies to their allies.

They lack the other supplemental organs other Imperial Fists lack.

Chapter Fleet

Because of its fleet-based nature, and the large lack of offensive capabilities on The Silvered Citadel, The Sons of Zeus travel with a large imperial fleet making a huge defensive barrier as they travel throughout space. It isn't uncommon for the Chapter to send out portions of this massive fleet to help out neighboring worlds as they pass through, often proving as a much welcomed and sometimes desperate surprise by the Imperium in need and a much-feared unfortunate circumstance for their enemies hoping to hit a weak spot.

Many have tried to take the Silvered Citadel, only to be utterly destroyed by the extremely defensive technologies of the ship combined with the strong and offensive capabilities of the imperial navy, which has some of the best imperial naval officers, some of which call The Silvered Citadel home, and the Sons of Zeus fiercely loyal protection.

Zeus, before his tragic death, did everything he could to make this fleet his peoples new home. He spent his last moments with his people and invented new lifestyles and ways for his chapter and the people they have sworn to protect to enter a mini-age of prosperity founded upon the strength of the union and unforgotten loyalty to the Emperor.

Though the marines themselves do not worship the emperor as a god, their people do. But for this, they support their decision and have helped erect magnificent structures and chapels for their people upon the silver citadel and planets that they visit and have protected their faith nonetheless.

Chapter Armory

Chapter Relics

  • The Fist of Zeus - This relic is passed down from chapter master to chapter master and was once crafted and wielded by Zeus Ena Mati, the first and founding Chapter Master of this Chapter. The relic is a massive power fist painted black with yellow fingers pultruding from it, with the chapter's logo at its center. With each new chapter master, a personal blessing is bestowed upon the machine spirit of the weapon, increasing its might. This weapon can shoot burst of red lightning from its palms that can pierce through armour when sufficiently charged. The might of the weapon is said to be able to crash through even battle-hardened terminator armour with ease.

Appearance: A large power fist (even by space marine standards) that is mostly black besides its fingers, which are yellow, made to look like the chapter colors for "The Wall". At its center, on the back of the hand, is the chapter logo embolized with bronze loreals protruding from behind the logo and a bronze skull at each knuckle. The weapon has at least 4 blessing attached to it, each with the initials of its previous wielders, the chapters previous Chapter Masters.

  • The Armor of Hercules - Built by Hercules himself, this armor is a masterfully crafted and a perfect fit to Hercules unusually massive bulk, even for a space marine. He stood a massive 9 tall and so he couldn't fit in any traditional armor. So Hercules built himself this piece of art. It is marked with masterful art work from his famous and arduous 12 labors on different parts of the body with stoic quotes said by Hercules and the other chapter masters, to inspire their men. With this master piece, Hercules Dominated the field, like a knight and his horse.

Appearance: The armor worn by Hercules is a decorated piece of Centurion Power Armor, featuring his 12 labors painted like art you would see on a cathedral ceiling. This piece of centurion armor is slightly bigger than most centurion armors as it is made to fit Hercules oversize bulk. It is equipped with mounted two Twin-Linked Heavy Stubbers over the right shoulder, the Fist of Zeus on its right arm, Zeus's Thunder on the left arm, as well as two multi meltas in its chest plate.

  • Spear of Athena - During the battle for Hera, the admiral of The Sons of Zeus main fleet, Athena, was a crucial member of that fight. With most of the chapter fighting on the planets surface in a hard fought battle against the Black Legion to save some imperial citizens and key strategic points, only a few strike squads were left to defend the Silver Citadel. Athena, with her fleet encountered a Tyrranid splinter fleet coming towards the planet and embarked on a mission to stop it before it could reach the planet. With her tactical genius and a great deal of wisdom, though despite being young, she won a desperate battle and successfully fended off the tyrranid hive fleet. After Hera was saved by the Sons of Zeus, Chapter Master Hercules Maximus crafted this power spear in her honor. It is currently waged into battle by the chapters Champion, Ilidor, the Emperors Chosen. This spear will be continued to be passed down from champion to champion instead of a traditional blade, for without Admiral Athena, The Silver Citadel and the planet of Hera would have been lost.

Appearance: the long shaft of the spear is wrapped in two long blessing seals stamped onto the top guard of the spear. The metal of the spear is the color of pure silver and the blade is in a similar design as the scimitar but with a pointed tip. On the center of the blade, on both sides, etched ever so beautifully, is "Athena, Ad Imperatorem". The bottom of the spear, and the counter balance, is the twin eagle of the imperium painted in a golden hue.

  • The Doom of The Hydra - (The sword of Patroclus)
  • Sword of Achilles - Achilles, lieutenant of the 1st Company, went mad at The Battle of The Hydra when his Battle-Brother, and close friends since they were both part of the same scout company and being both orphans, had fallen in battle against the Alpha Legion. He wielded a two-handed power blade in his right hand easily one-handed and wielded a storm shield in the other. He picked up his friend's blade and dropped his storm shield and led a charge headlong and in pursuit of vengeance for his fallen battle brother. In truth, Achilles sought out his own death in battle for his loss was too severe. It is said that this blade, either by superstition or by the will of the Emperor, kept him alive for every time he would take a hit that would normally kill a space marine, he emerged unscathed, forever cursing his wish for death. The superstition is that this blade will grant you the vengeance that you seek but at the cost of your life. As luck will have it, after 100 years of war since Patroclus's fatal event, Achilles died in battle against a Chaos Lord of the Alpha Legion after getting his leg cut off via the heel, but not before killing the lord by cutting him clean in half with his great sword and Patroclus sword, which would later be named "The Doom of The Hydra".
  • Zeus's Thunder - This Heavy Bolter was crafted by Zeus as one of his 12 labors. He had to craft a relic worthy of history and created the most devastating Heavy Bolter known to mankind. This Bolter was said to shoot so fast at its target, the bullet will hit you before the sound of the gun leaves the barrel. The sound of the bolter is so loud, it sounds like thunder had a vendetta and can be heard from far away like a distant brewing thunder storm. With advanced targeting systems to help its wielder see behind walls, which are nothing before this mighty weapon. Zeus famously pared this weapon with his power fist, amply named The Fist of Zeus for a devastating combo, in which Hercules Maximus currently does this same combo. With this weapon, Zeus and Hercules will slay many traitors and save many lives, making it infamous amongst the foe and famous amongst the Imperium and their allies, proving to be awe inspiring in imperial ranks, often inspiring great acts of bravery even in the face of overwhelming odds.

Appearance: A double barreled black heavy bolter with a large yellow thunder bolt stretching from the barrel to the other side of the gun. It has optic sights at the top end of the gun that directly links to the helmet of its wielder, assisting in aim and control of the gun. The metal of the weapon is etched in Zeus's 12 labors in perfect lateral unison.

  • Heart of Patroclus -

Chapter Appearance

Chapter Colours

The Sons of Zeus paint their battle-plate in a unique halved colour scheme, with the left half of the torso painted black and the right half painted a vivid yellow reminiscent of their progenitors. This latter colouration includes the backpack and both gauntlets, with the helmet being halved between black and yellow with the yellow side opposite of the uncut eye . The trim of their shoulder pauldrons as well as the Aquila or Imperialis symbol affixed to their plastron (chest guard) is a light gold/silver colour. Uniquely, the Sons of Zeus traditionally have the right lens of their helmet blacked out. These standard Astartes are known by the Code Name; The Moving Fortress, or The Wall.

Those battle-brothers who serve in a fast-attack role instead utilise a halved yellow/white colouration, with the latter colour replacing the orientation of the black colour. These Astartes are known by the Code Name; Speed Force or The Wave.

A large black coloured squad specialist symbol stencilled on the inset of their right shoulder pauldron indicates a Battle-Brother's assigned combat role (Fire Support, Close Support, Battleline, Veteran, or Command). A small black coloured Roman numeral stencilled on the interior portion of the right inset indicates squad assignment. A much larger white-coloured Gothic numeral stencilled on the left poleyn (knee guard) indicates company assignment.

Apothecaries of the Chapter are designated through the use of white-coloured power armour, with the exception of the helmet, backpack and both gauntlets being painted yellow. Librarians of the Chapter are designated by blue coloured power armour, with the exception of the left shoulder pauldron which is kept in the original Chapter colours. Chaplains make use of sable-coloured power armour and skull faceplates affixed to their helmets, granting them a fearsome aspect. Techmarines are designated through the use of red-coloured power armour to show their allegiance to the Cult Mechanicus, with the exception of their left shoulder pauldron which proudly displays their Chapter's original colours.

Their Primaris have a very similar look to the first born except that they have a yellow trim instead of the light gold/silver color. The shin guards is painted in yellow but with black knee pads. On their right knee pad is their company and on their left knee pad is their combat role painted in white. The Aquila on their chest is either gold or silver depending on the marine.

Chapter Badge

The Sons of Zeus' Chapter icon takes the symbol of a black armored gauntlet clenched in a fist, similar to the Imperial Fists, grasping a yellow thunderbolt, ready to strike.

Last Wall Chapters
Being primarily a Imperial Fists chapter, The Sons of Zeus proudly honor the Last Wall Protocol and all its allies.
Ultramarines
Originally thought to be mixed with the Ultramarines primarch, Roboute Guilliman, The Sons of Dorn have fought many desperate and key battles with their brothers in arms. However, despite recently being disproven as related to one another, their ally ship still holds strong and they have shared many battles during the recent Indomitus Crusade, forming a even more inseparable bond despite their differences.

The White Scars is another suspect to the second gene-sire of The Sons of Zeus. So much so that, when comparing both chapters favor towards reason, tradition, fast attack tactics, and their desire and love for bringing the battle to the enemy, they make great allies upon the battle field. Alpha Legion
Ever since the chapters founding The Sons of Zeus have fought and specilized in fighting the Alpha Legion, as well as other chaos legions such as the Black Legion and The Death Guard. Though there is none they hate more than the Alpha Legion, for they have haunted the Sons of Zeus since their creation and brought their home world to ruin. For this, The Sons of Zeus have vowed a never ending crusade upon any and all Alpha Legion and their allies.
Drukhari
The Sons of Zeus despise the Drukharri, often relating them to The Alpha Legion by pure trickery and dark intent. Ever since the War for Hera, a four part campaign involving the Eldar, Alpha Legion, The Sons of Zeus, and Orks, in which the Sons of Zeus barely won thanks to imperial navy and Chapter Master Hercules brilliant mind for strategy, due to the Drukhari's sudden attempt to take out all four sides while they are week and reek havoc upon the imperial citizens that still inhabit the planet, as well as upset their newly formed but very fragile alliance with the Eldari trying to save a relic on the planet, The Sons of Zeus have made a sacred oath to wipe out the Dark Eldar once and for all.

By the Sons of Zeus

"When Death has an enemy, he calls upon the Sons of Zeus! Unbreakable! Unstoppable! For Humanity! For the Emperor!"
— Hercules Maximus, Chapter Master.
"Stand tall and face the opposing evil. You may die here today, guardsman, but your name shall be carried in the myths and song of our chapter, for the Memorial of Heroes upon The Silver Citadel is forever growing. Stand with me in these final moments and bear the Emperor's name upon his foes! Force them back into the timeless hell hole that they cower in! Show them why they should flee before us! Together we fight and together we die! For Humanity! For the Emperor!"
— Sergeant Telyphos, Sons of Zeus 5th company, 4th Battleline Squad during a last stand against an overwhelming chaos invasion on Meandroes Prime. He was later found with a small squad of Cadian Shock Troops, holding the line, waiting for reinforcements. Said reinforcements later repelled the invasion but Telyphos would die during the final battle defending the same Cadians he fought beside.
