Petrus Paulus Michael Gabriel Rafael Andreas Iacobus Ioannes Philippos Bartholomaeus Mattheus Thoma Alphaeus Simon Judas Maththias Josephus Yosef, more commonly known as the 'Solar King', has been the supreme leader of the Solar Watch Shield Host for over half a millennium and, by extent, the de facto Praetorian of Terra, acting as a bulwark against the darkness that encroaches around humanity's birthplace. It is his solemn duty to assure that the holy defenses of Sol are at peak performance, every turret ready, every soldier prepared, every ship fulled with ammo and fuel. It is a tedious, yet no less dangerous job, for the slightest mistake could bring down the whole of mankind.
Petrus's story amid the revered ranks of the Adeptus Custodes is a long one indeed, stretching all over across the beggining of the 41st millenium. Beggining his life as most custodians do, as a youngling from one of several noble families of Terra, he was given to the order by his parents, his name erased and his past life forgotten. It would not be long until Petrus would rise where so many aspirants fell, ready to serve the Emperor in body and soul.
Hot tempered since the beginning, he was unwilling to let the galaxy burn while his order watched. When the fabled Gothic Wars began, the young king would gather similar minded brothers and stride to aid in the war efforts. Unbeknownst to most historians, if it was not for the timely intervention of this custodian strike team, several battles would've been lost, and the forces of Chaos would have prevailed. Their actions, although carried over in defiance to the edicts of Guilliman 10,000 standard years before, were cherished by the demigodly brotherhood, and the Blade of Realities, Petrus's new title, would rise shortly after to the esteemed rank of Shield-Captain of the Solar Watch.
Just like the title of Warmaster, albeit tainted by its past, is still used from time to time by the Imperial military forces, usually given to spectacular beings such as the now Saint Macabius, the title of Praetorian of Terra still evokes awe across the population of Sol. This title, much more rarely used since the departure of Rogal Dorn, is now proudly carried over by those leaders of the custodians, especially of the Solar Watch, who have proven themselves in unthinkable feats of loyalty.
Today, almost one-thousand years later, and several names and titles gained, the Solar King bears such title, having ascended to the position of leader of the Solar Watch, and became a legend among legends. Now, with his bloodthirst tempered, but not his unflintching zealotry in the defense of the Emperor. Possessing a cold thinking mind that no strategist in the galaxy can hope to outmatch, and the physical might surpassed only by the Primarchs of legend, it is rare the traitor or Xenos who doesn't fear Sol for Petrus's mere presence.
And yet, despite all his glories, there are rumors that abound to the Destroyer of Eternities: that the weight of time is soon to claim its toll over the legendary hero, that soon he, who have stood among the companions for a century, who have claimed the lives of hundreds, who have watched over Sol without a moment's respite, shall join the ranks of the Eyes of the Emperor, the secret body of retired custodians. If such rumors are true, then perhaps heretics and unclean creatures across the galaxy rejoice in anticipation of such moment, for the Solar King alone ensures Sol will never fall.
