The Sentinels of Cadia are an Ultramarines Successor Chapter formed formed during the 13th Founding at the order of Roboute Guilliman so that they may stand guard over warp rifts and chaos. As loyal and as patient as their namesake, they are true sons of Guillaman.
Chapter History
The Sentinels of Cadia are long servants of the Imperium of Man, formed in M36.634. They where founded to protect Cadia from fear of the Eye of Terror, consolation for the massive contribution of guards from the planet. It was deemed unsafe, such a strong warpstorm near the light of the Imperium.
Created with the Primaris Ultramarines gene-seed, each and every last battle-brother of the Sentinels of Cadia is a son of Guillaman to the bone. Masters of tactical warfare and strategy, they do not believe in defeat and have yet to meet a foe who can outsmart their tactical genuis: The Captains of the Ten.
The sentinels have taken great interest in the Cadian System and specifically the former fortress-world turned dead-world Cadia. The marines of the Sentinels were greatly inspired by the mettle and grit of the mortal guradsmen and Auxilia.
Now after the destruction of Cadia the Sentinels are a fleet based chapter, set on purging the Galaxy of the vile Mutant, the putrid Xeno and the forsaken Heretic.

The Indomitus Crusade
Warden of the Gate, Darnath Valerian lead the Chapter of the Sentinels of Cadia for a brief time during the Indomitus Crusade most notably the Battle of Gathalamor. During the Battle, Valerian solidified his worthiness of Chapter Master and in quick order in the aftermath Roboute Guilliman founded the Sentinels of Cadia.

Fortress-Monastery
The Fortress-Monastery of the Sentinels of Cadia is a homage to the mighty Kasr Vazan; a strategic point during the Black Crusades and a lot of masters of war came from the Kasr and surrounding cities. Fortress-Monastery Vazan floats before the Eye of Terror, fighting back forces of Chaos leaking through. It serves as a citadel where the Chapter Masters and Company Captains are laid to rest, most notably the Captain Valatrixus den Ferrus Captain of the Fourth company who was transferred to the Death Watch in M42.223 and was slain at the hand of a Necron Lord in M42.281.

- Warden of the Gate - The Chapter Master of the Sentinels of Cadia. Currently held by Darnath Valerian, those appointed as Watch Master prove themselves as mighty warriors, cunning and strategic. You are proven to be a Watch Master after 5 long trials, first the Astartes must show they have slain a daemon prince, with nothing but their own chainblade, second, they must hunt down a daemon's weapon and place it in the Aula Artifactorum upon the Kasr Vazan where it will be researched by the Techpriests, third, they must strip themselves down to nothing but their garments and fight 20 fully armed Astartes, rendering each prone, fourth, they are expected to carve their name into a rock atop a mountain on the planet of [Redacted by the Inquisiton], and finally, the final task is for them to carve a statue of themselves into the Aula Custodum. Then, and only then, is a Sentinel worthy of the rank of Watch Master.

Chapter Recruitment
The Sentinels recruit from all over the galaxy as a homage to the Cadian Guard. Their tests are a grueling six months but those who survive earn a place among the most honourable of Battle-Brothers.
Chapter Beliefs
It would be heresy to forget of the strong beliefs riddled into the legions of the Sentinels of Cadia. It is a common belief among the Chapter that when one truly feels their loyalty to their comrades and the Emperor during battle that the God Emperor himself takes over for just a moment to give them the courage needed to slay even the deadliest of foes. Astartes or man both can experience this rush of battle, the Sentinels of Cadia believe it is what allowed the Cadians to fight on during the 13th Black Crusade as their own world crumbled beneath them.
Chapter Gene-Seed
Genetic Flaws
By their very nature the Sentinels of Cadia are old, each is allowed to live longer than the average expectancy of an Astartes because of the Warp radiation that they have come in to contact with because of odd time manipulation and fields of the system.
The geneseed of the Sentinels of Cadia is infected with a strange anger; The Wrath of Cadia. If a warrior is overcome with the lust of battle and cast out their loyalty of the legion the Wrath of Cadia takes hold of them and they are beyond saving.
Combat Doctrine
The Sentinels approach combat with the full expectance of fighting the worst of the worst. Their favoured ways of combat are the heavy primaris armour types, the most commonly used units by the majority of the Companies are the fast moving Inceptors and Gravivolcius on the front line to take the hard hits and break through the lines of infantry often backed by some sorts of heavy weaponary from allied Guardsmen. Also commonly used would be the Primaris Eradicators and Heavy Marines, their thick armour perfect for the extermination of heretics. Vindicarii support is often close behind the front line of Gravivolcius and Inceptors to supply heavy hitting melee aid.
Deathwatch Service
Members of the Sentinels of Cadia join the Deathwatch under one of two circumstances; 1) They reach the rank of Senior Veteran and are contaced by the Ordo Xenos to be enlisted into the ranks of the Deathwatch 2) They are overcome with the Wrath of Cadia and deemed unfit for loyal service.
Notable Members
- Darnath Valerian (M30.989-Present) - Darnath Valerian is the current Warden of the Gate, he is the first Battle-Brother to have proven himself worthy of the title. He hails from the planet of Ultramar and fought alongside the Ultramarines both in their ranks and as Warden of the Gate of the Sentinels of Cadia. He has proven his skill multiple times, most notably during the Indomitus Crusade and his time among the Ultramarines during the Great Crusades. (Although the Chapter was founded to watch the Eye of Terror, no real threat was posed during the Crusades so the Sentinels where shipped off-world to help with general war-effort, this is why they were not present at the fall of Cadia.)
- Cassian Thorne (M36.542-Present) - Thorne is the High Apothecary of the Sentinels, he was appointed such by Darnath Valerian himself and has since fought alongside the Warden. Thorne famously worked under the Ultramarines for 78 years before being moved to the Sentinels of Cadia during their founding.

The Battle Fleet of the Sentinels of Cadia currently consists of 6 battle barges, notably The Fist of Cadia and Revenger, 25 strike cruisers and their flagship, The Eyes of Creed.

- The Shard of the Pylon - A remenant of the legendary Cadian pylons, constructed by the Xeno race the Necrons thousands of years before the light of the Imperium of man could touch the Cadian system. it has a peculair air about it, it seems to repel chaos blight. The Shard is kept on Kasr Valazan.
- Crux of the Black Crusade - What has often been mistaken as simply a jar of dirt is in fact the very essence and remains of the once might planet of Cadia. Retrieved by Delerion Bless'd of Cadia he carries it into every battle to inspire his brothers. The Crux of the Black Crusade is kept safe in the Kasr Vazan when the 1st company isn't crusading.

Chapter Colours
The Sentinels have taken the colours of the Cadian Shock Troopers, as a homage to the Cadian Shock Troops and in honour of those who fell during the 13th Black Crusade. Higher ranks wear a red stripe down the center of their helmet to symbolize the and pay repsects to the fall of Cadia.

Chapter Badge
The chapter badge of the Sentinels of Cadia is considered rather bland for a Space Marine Chapter especially as it does not adhere to the Codex Astartes. The ancient-Terran camouflague plays into the utilitarian aspects of the Chapter. it is made up of a sandy green, brown maroon and various greens.

- Raptors - The Sentinels of Cadia and Raptors are allied through similarity and how their strategies compliment eachother.
- Ultramarines - As the predecessors of the Sentinels of Cadia it is only natural they have fought alongside eachother and that they have made a pact of allegiance.
