The Seafarers is a tale of abandonment, brotherhood and futile redemption. For when empty promises of purification and penance are given to a Chapter devoid of purpose but full of honour, the tides can only break their willpower. There are few who would call the Seafarers allies, for they are the sires of abandonment. Abandoned by their chapter, abandoned by their brothers-in-arms and abandoned by true justice. Yet their loyalty still holds firm, while they are abandoned they shall not abandon others.
Due to unexpected warp disturbance the Dark Krakens aboard fleet Flotjr, originally sent as reinforcements, experienced time faster than those in the Materium tenfold. In the years that followed, fleet Flotjr experienced next to nil daemon invasions, surviving without a Geller field for short periods of time. This was the catalyst for the ensuing controversy between the other Chapters, but it was also the birth of the Seafarers.
Separated and now an independent entity from the rest of the Dark Krakens, the Seafarers reside on the agri-world of Thalassic, protecting the twisted experiments of the Inquisition from prying eyes. The Seafarers know that the promises given to them are empty, meaningless. Yet they still serve, for that was once their purpose. And it's only a matter of time till they drown in their own loyalty.
Often hired as bodyguards and mercenaries, the Seafarers are hunters who sell their services to Imperial nobles, rogue traders and other space marine chapters. They are a freelance military service for the Inquisition, exterminating entire xenos species with the Deathwatch and banishing warp daemons alongside the Grey Knights. They are a reliable asset willing to help anyone who can pay their price.
Chapter History[]
The Seafarer’s motives are mostly unknown. The Seafarers started out as an abandoned unit of Salamander space marines who were trapped on a planet within the ghoul stars without resupply. They would learn to survive to survive on the hazardous planet until a passing Rogue trader ship landed on the planet, lost in the Ghoul stars. The trader and Astartes would make a deal, the Astartes would perform jobs for the Rogue trader and in return the trader would ferry the Seafarers back into charted space.
After betraying the traitorous fool of a rogue trader, the Seafarers would hyjack the newly deceased owner of the ship. After returning to the Imperium’s borders, the abandoned Salamanders would become their own chapter, the freelancing Seafarers.
Notable Campaigns[]
The Burning of the Eead (007.M42)[]
The newly founded Seafarers, now at full strength, would take a mission to stop an invading Aeldari craftworld. The Seafarers would aid the Ultramarines in breaching the xenos ship, mostly inhabited by undead soul constructs. Both sides were evenly matched and both suffered many casualties. Only by the arrival of an Iron hands vessel containing a knight household was the rest of the craftworld’s undead inhabitants exterminated by sheer force. The Craftworld would fall into the surface of a planet, nobody there to prevent the crash. The Seafarers, seeing the ship’s potential, would commence a mass cleanse of the ship, setting it alight. The fires would burn for months until all the wraithbone was burned to a crisp. The Seafarers would take the Craftworld as their own, thus making them a fleet-based chapter.
Tidebreaker(028.M42)[]
Years after the claiming of the Craftworld, the Seafarers were called by the Ordovician Malleus to reinforce a Astra Militarum battalion engaging a traitor battalion, who had amassed planets worth of cultists. Nearing defeat, the traitors pulled a fast one on the loyalists and summoned a daemon prince and a horde of the horrid monsters from the warp. The Seafarers were to fight against the traitor battalion and the deamonic foes with the help of the recently arrived Grey knights. The deamon prince, now surrounded and nearing defeat, sent out a wave of warp energy across the planet. The Grey knights’ holy armor would resist the psychic attack, but unfortunately the loyal guardsmen and Seafarers were instantly vaporised by the attack. This would mark the greatest failure of the Seafarers had ever had.
Chapter Homeworld[]
Hastas Creui[]
The Seafarers are a fleet-faring chapter and such they do not have a home world. Instead they use the captured Craftworld Hastas Creui, obtained during the Burning of the Dead campaign. Hastas Creui is surrounded by other Seafarers vessels, which makes up fleet Aluvi. Since the month long burning of the craftworld, when the Seafarers were cleansing the ship from wraithbone, Hastas Creui has said to still be smoldering with an unending flame. The majority of the Craftworld is still uncharted, many hallways still pluming smoke. The Seafarers use this uncharted area of the ship as the final test for the recruitment process.

Combat Doctrine[]
The Seafarers specialise in boarding actions and shock and awe tactics. Using specialized tactics , the Seafarers prefer an efficient fighting style for a quick and clean fight.
Chapter Culture & Beliefs[]
The Seafarers believe in the Imperial creed, however they do not spread the belief as devotedly as other chapters might. Due to the fleet-based nature of the Seafarers, the entirety of the chapter do not share the same culture, which has caused some strife and rivalries in the chapter. However they do all share the practice of wrapping and adorning cloth onto their armor. The cloth can be used for sharing an individual’s achievements, feats, goals and their ranking within the chapter by writing on it like parchment. To avoid internal conflict amongst each other, members of the Seafarers join squads that share similar ideals and beliefs.
Chapter Recruitment[]
The Seafarers prefer to recruit from a wide variety of systems and planets. They train the potential recruits of a planet inside their renovated Craftworld instead of setting up temporary bases. Inside the Craftworld, alongside the standard Astartes training the promising recruits will:
- Fight to the death against other recruits
- Learn how to fight and hunt in enclosed spaces and open areas
- Learn how to utilize the modified gravis armor
Near the end of their recruitment, the recruit will be tasked with traveling from 1 side of the Craftworld to the other while a fully fledged Astartes stalks them. The recruit will be forced to use what they learnt to either hunt the hunter or avoid detection long enough to reach the other side. The recruit will have the choice to travel through the charted areas of the ship, benefiting from being able to plan a concrete route but disadvantaging from the extra security. Or travel through the uncharted areas of the ship, advantaging from the lack of security at the cost of not able to plan a route.
Deathwatch Service[]
Few Astartes from the Seafarers join the ranks with the Deathwatch due to how spread out the whole chapter is from each other. Instead they work alongside the Deathwatch to tackle unknown xenos threats in uncharted space in the galaxy, such as the Halo and Ghoul stars. Working as a mercenary force, they have assisted the Deathwatch in exterminating entire xenos species.
Chapter Gene-Seed[]
The Warp’s Entombment[]
Warpstone forms beneath the surface of an Astarte’s power armor and fusing itself with the rest of the body. The rocks will eventually break through the armor and requires removal. The process of removing the surfaced rocks is dangerous both to the body of the space marine and to their armor. The warp stone seems to have a mind of its own, influencing the thoughts and personalities of the space marines. Only through spiritual rituals and constant belief will the voices be silenced.

The spear was found and restored by chief techmarine Marais to become a viable weapon for galactic warfare.
- Seaforger Armor - The Seaforger armor is a modified tactical dreadnought suit able to withstand extreme heat. The suit has been modified to allow agile movement in Thalassic’s seas. The armor is worn by head techmarine Marais who creates the chapter’s unique war gear. It was also worn to protect Marais from the intense heat of underwater volcanoes required to repair the Seahunter spear.
Skulls of the tainted[]
Behind the inquisition’s back, Lelentos took the body and minds of the fallen Tainted and turned them into servo-skulls. The servo-skulls of the tainted are now known as the Faint because the spirits still cling to the servo-skulls, barely holding on, their souls slowing fading away.
Unique Wargear[]
The chapter’s gravis-units utilize modified gravis powerarmor. The suit has advanced gravity and magnetization modules inside the boots, which allows them to safely walk along the hulls of enemy ships in open space.
Chapter Appearance[]
Personalised power armour worn by chapter ancient Atuas.
