The Screaming Skulls are a Chapter descended from the White Scars. They are a splinter group of the 23rd 'Sentinel' Founding formed when the Black Void Chapter went renegade. The Chapter is very zealous and the Reclusiam has a lot of control within the Chapter's structure. The Chapter Master of the Screaming Skulls is also the Chapter's Master of Sanctity.
Chapter History
The core members of the Screaming Skulls were originally part of the Black Void Chapter. After the First War of Eduris, the Black Void turned renegade and left the Imperium. This caused Kion, the Master of Sanctity, to assassinate his Chapter Master and escape from the Chapter's Fortress-Monastery along with the rest of the Chapter's chaplains and a small group of loyal marines.
These marines who escaped were led by Kion to Chogoris, where they eventually formed a Chapter of their own, known as the Screaming Skulls. The Skulls aimed to decimate the Black Void, and any traitorous Chapter like them.
Notable Campaigns
Chapter Homeworld
The Screaming Skulls' originally didn't have a homeworld, being set up as a fleet-based Chapter. Following the events of the Second War of Eduris, the planet was mostly uninhabited and the Chapter was given permission to use it as their base.

Combat Doctrine
The Screaming Skulls prefer to combat their opponents at long-range, but close quarters combat is the specialty of the Fourth Company, Bladescream. Most of the Chapter's officers also wield power weapons in case it's required of them.
Wargear
When Mark X 'Primaris' power armour was rolled out to the Space Marines, the Screaming Skulls fully converted to the newer armour. The Skulls also employ a large amount of troops in the Gravis variant of Mark X armour, as well as plasma weaponry.

- Chapter Master Kion: Status: Deceased. The only Doa-Khali (Master of Sanctity) the Black Void had. After the decision made by Sirius Katharion to turn renegade, he slew the Staud-Khali with his plasma pistol, before fleeing along with the Chapter's other Doa (Chaplains) to stay loyal to the Emperor. He escaped and founded the Screaming Skulls. Kion was eventually killed by the Black Void's second Staud-Khali during the end of the Second War of Eduris.

The Screaming Skulls and Black Void are extremely antagonistic whenever they come into contact with each other. This is due to both the Void's exodus from the Imperium and Kion's assassination of Sirius Katharion, the Void's first Chapter Master. These tensions were deepened following the Second War of Eduris, which ended with the death of both Chapter Masters. |
