The Saurian Tyrants are Space Marine chapter Successor Chapter from the 7th founding around the 34th Millennium. All the records of the chapter was lost no one remembers who they descend from. The chapter is semi-Codex compliant the chapter was created to destroy a small ork empire in the outskirts of the Segmentum Obscurus near the Halo Stars and the Void. The sector is called the Leviathan's Coil, which the sector got its name from a minor warp opening that is shaped like a snake coil. The Ork Klan that was in charge was Snake Bites Klan led by Warboss Scraggg Bonewhacka, so the Imperium sent the Saurian Tyrants and the Shadow Griffins on the Leviathan Crusade.
After the Leviathan Crusade was complete the Saurian Tyrants would search the sector for a suitable homeworld. The Tyrants would eventually go to Primordia Rex a feral planet full of diverse but dangerous wildlife that reassembles prehistoric animals from Terra. The human population used to be in imperial control until the orks destroyed the cities and this sent them back to stone age. The Saurian Tyrants claimed it as their homeworld and would start adopting the culture and habits of the people on the world.
Chapter History[]
The Saurian Tyrants were created during the 7th founding and were sent to the Leviathans Coil Sector to crush the ork empire. Which they would succeed in it and managed to kill the Warboss in charge Scraggg Bonewhacka, and put his corpse on display in the chapter masters throne room on their home world. The chapter has had problems fighting tyranids, and orks in the sectors.
In the current setting the chapter is in rough area they just went through a small civil war, and are now being attacked on both sides. The chapter is now not getting supplies from the Imperium, since cadia fell and causing the Cicatrix Maledictum split the imperium in two. The Saurian Tyrants are in Imperium Nihilus with diminishing resources, and being attacked on both sides while being spread thin. The Tyrants would eventually receive primaris reinforcements and so would the Shadow Griffins saving both chapters from extinction.
Notable Campaigns[]
- The Leviathan's Coil Crusade (Unknown Date.M34) - This crusade lasted about 350 years before the ork empire was put down in the sector. The crusade was hard fought, because the orks outnumbered the Imperial forces 4 to 1. The guardsmen were the backline raining down the wrath of the Emperor as the Tyrants dropped into the ork forces with drop-pods and teleporting terminators to break the back of the orks, as the Shadow Griffins went and took out key targets and war bosses. After the crusade ended the Saurian Tyrants and Shadow Griffins would claim homeworlds.
- WAAAGH!!! Gasgurk Jawbreakah (Unknown Dates.M36-M37) - Gasgurk Jawbreakah was originally a war boss that worked for Scraggg Bonewhacka. Gasgurk gathered the orks from the empire together again under one banner, and would return to the Leviathan's Coil sector. It would actually be mostly successful and would cause chaos through the sector before retreating just out of the sector. The imperium actually lost the war since they weren't able to kill him, but he distracted them and raided one of the few forge worlds near the sector. This war would bring the chapter to a new low by Gasgurk killing the original chapter master in single combat.
- The Rusted Campaign (Unknown Date.M38) - A Nurgle-corrupted Iron Warriors warband called the Rusted Legion. This warband would get into a war with the fifth company of the Saurian Tyrants, and the fifth company would almost be destroyed until their allies of the shadow griffins and imperial forces came to aid them. The beginning of the campaign went poorly for the Tyrants the fifth company being almost annihilated and the other companies not being close enough to support.
- The Bloodied Maw (Unknown Dates.M41-M42) - Fourth Company Captain Garrik Redfang was corrupted by Khorne due to a previous campaign, and was able to corrupt just over a hundred marines most from the 4th Company, but not all. Garrik would reap a bloody campaign almost killed most of the loyalist from the 4th Company. Eventually Garrik would attack the fortress-monastery with the aid of daemons since they didn't have the numbers to fully invade Primordia Rex. Kaelar and the first company were the only ones on Primordia Rex when the other companies were racing back. A Bloodthirster attacked Vorek Flamecaller the Chief Shaman, but the Tyrannosaur in the fortress monastery came and helped fight the blood thirster they eventually would banish it. The war for Primodia Rex ended when Kaelar defeated Garrik in one on one combat, and this caused Garrik and the traitors to retreat and barely manage to steal a Hunter class Destroyer battle ship and would join a world eater warband that Garrik would take control of and rename it the Bloodied Maw.
- The Veiled Vortex Campaign (Unknown Date.M42) - A Chaos warband called the Veiled Truth would manage to cripple the Shadow Griffins, and even manage to destroy the homeworld of the Shadow Griffins. The Saurian Tyrants made it to late to bring aid and help save their homeworld due to trying to hunt Garrik down but failing. They would come and find that the Shadow Griffins lost 7 companies, their homeworld, and 2\3rds of their fleet. Them failing to make it in time brought the Chapter great shame, but this campaign after this they managed to kill the sorcerer that lead the warband. This caused the warband to scatter, and almost be completely destroyed.
- The War of Claw and Talon (Unknown Date.M42; Ongoing) - The Saurian Tyrants are now attacked on both sides by orks and remnants of tyranid fleets from hive Tiamat. The Saurian Tyrants are spread thin due to the Shadow Griffins being greatly weakened, and the imperial forces are being pushed back. Eventually Primaris reinforcements would arrive to aid both the chapters and help to hold the line.
Chapter Homeworld[]
Primordia Rex is a large feral jungle death world with animals that resemble prehistoric animals from Terra but different due to gravity and the planet being rich with oxygen. This causes sauropods to be the size of titans and heavily armored. Each animal is denser, stronger, and heavier which allows species like the Dromaeosaurs to carry space marines. This didn't just affect the animals but the plants and humans that lived there the humans other time became larger, inherently stronger, developed a great sense of smell, and eyesight and hearing. The planet is composed of three really large continents with a few large islands around. The planet has multiple tribes that the chapter recruits from, and these tribes all have their own beliefs but all worship the emperor as a God since the Emperor's statues were left mostly intact after the orks conquered the planet. The tribes venerate the wildlife and would tame them through trial and error, but only one tribe remembered they were apart of the imperium. This tribe still has guns but no way to make the bullets so they rarely use them, and they can only make bullets that are just like the old musket kind of bullets. The Saurian tyrants recruit from every tribe, which gives them great versatility.

Fortress-Monastery[]
The Ember Hearth the chapter's Fortress-Monastery is right next a volcano and is surrounded by Lava and rock. The fortress is decorated with hundreds of thousands of ork and tyranid skeletons. Inside they have Scraggg Bonewhacka's skeleton hanging above Kaelar's throne. The chapter has a tamed Tyrannosaur that has been augmented with armor, guns, and enhancements that improve its already monstrous strength. The Tyrannosaur is able to wander near the fortress but is psychically linked to Chief Shaman Vorek Flamecaller. The chapter has five other fortresses on the world near each tribe, so they can help each tribe in case of an invasion.

The chapter recruits from multiple tribes, and some companies mostly recruit from one or two tribes specifically. The main tribes that mostly make up the chapter are.
- Turok Tribe - This tribe creates the strongest and the most adapted recruits, and the tribe will send their children out in nature and if they survive they earn their place in the tribe. This tribe makes up most of the chapter and 2nd company, and Kaelar comes from this tribe.
- Gorvak Tribe - The largest tribe this tribe has the largest society due to them having tamed entire species, which made it difficult for other tribes to raid them. This tribe gave the chapter their belief for marines of having a close bond with their Saurian companion.
- Starweaver Tribe - Is the most peaceful this tribe is made almost entirely psykers they mainly try to learn more about the past of the planet and the origins of the tribes, and they actually try trading with the ironclad tribe. ( Vorek Flamecaller is from this tribe.)
- Ironclad Tribe - This tribe is the only tribe that remembered the imperium before the orks devastated the world. The tribe lives in a hive-city thats inside a collapsed mountain, and is the only tribe that still has guns and even has a rough plate male armor. The techmarines come from this tribe, and the 5th company normally recruits from this tribe.
- Dustwalker Tribe - This tribe lives in the largest dessert on the planet, and the wield life here is well adapted for the environment. Recruits from this tribe also are the best snipers from the chapter. The 3rd company recruits from this tribe.
- Shadeweaver Tribe - This tribe is rarely seen by the other tribes, and this tribe uses mainly sign language instead of vocal communication. Recruits from this tribe are great for infiltration, and assassinations. The 3rd company recruits from this one mostly. (Sekatar the Hiddentalon comes from this tribe)
- Emberborn Tribe - This tribe worships the Emperor as a sun-god, and the tribe went to war with the other tribes trying to preach the word of their sun-god. The chapter's chaplains almost always come from this tribe, and the tribe would burn anything that went against the emperor. (High Chaplain Gor'rok Jorun comes from this tribe)
- Karsak Tribe - A tribe that lives in a large cavern and are a well rounded tribe that also are some of the greatest hunters on the planet. This tribe has created the best medicine and was quite peaceful and the apothecaries come from this tribe.
Chapter Beliefs[]
The chapter has a lot of beliefs many because each tribe is different.
The chapter believes the Emperor is a God, and the chaplains will preach his word whenever they can.
The chapter also makes recruits hunt, and tame a dinosaur and they must also bond with the tamed creature. The tamed creature will then be given upgrades like armor to help them survive.
The chapter believes in strength, and abhors the weak which is why they have no respect for guardsmen or civilians.
Chapter Gene-Seed[]
They have a mutated gene-seed with only two mutations. The first mutation causes the marines to be stronger, and denser bones this gives the marines incredible strength and height compared to other marines.
Primarch's Curse (Genetic Flaw)[]
The second mutation causes the marines to develop claws instead of fingernails, and develop fangs instead of teeth. When a marine takes his helmet off in front of guards men it gives the guards men an uncanny feeling when around them.
Combat Doctrine[]
The chapter specializes in Terminator assaults, and close quarters combat. The chapter also specializes in fast strikes using dinosaur cavalry, bikes. The chapter likes drop pods launching their marines into the heart of the enemy.
Deathwatch Service[]
The chapter sent a lot of marines into the deathwatch, but currently they can't send many due to being in a difficult crusade .
Notable Saurian Tyrants[]
Chapter Master Kaelar Drakeskull, Chief Shaman Vorek Flamecaller, and High Chaplain Gor'rok Jorun
- Chapter Master Kaelar Drakeskull- Kaelar is the current Chapter Master he is a towering figure(he is just a little bit shorter than Tyberos). He wields three relics he wields a flaming power axe called Drakesbane that was wield by the original chapter master, a power talon called the Tyrants Wrath with a storm bolter attached to it, and is massive Terminator armor called Saurian Hide that had to be crafted specifically for him. Kaelar was found by the Chief Shaman/Librarian Vorek after a vision given to him by the Emperor, and Kaelar was found guarding his mother with a stone spear standing over a dead raptor. Kaelar would rise through ranks quickly eventually becoming the captain of the first company, and becoming close friends with the fourth company captain at the time Garrik Redfang. Kaelars killed the original chaos lord of the Bloodied Maw in 1 on 1 combat, which that chaos lord killed his predecessor, and this battle would end up corrupting Garrik. Now Kaelar has gone through the Rubricon surgery he is now even taller and the techpriests and techmarines had to modify his massive armor. Kaelar was quick to accept the primaris because it was first sign of the imperium for the first time in a while.
- Chief Shaman Vorek Flamecaller - Vorek is called ancient by the chapter he has lived through two chapter masters, but the name is more then just a mockery of his age its also out of respect. Since he has beaten greater daemons, and giant tyranids and even managed to tame a Tyrannosaur on this planet. He is about 867 years old and for a short time before Kaelar became chapter master Vorek lead the Saurian tyrants.
- High Chaplain Gor'rok Jorun- He is known for being ruthless, Jorun shows no mercy and has purged an entire hive city for not putting down genestealer cult uprising when only a squad of Saurian Tyrants put it down and preaches the word of the God-Emperor. He has a dilophosaurus skull helmet, and he has body parts of tyranids and orks decorating his armor. He lead a force of Saurian Tyrants and Shadow Griffins of forge world against the Orks.
- Captain Drekken - Drekken leads the 1st company the Dread Saurians, he has a massive rivalry with the Veiled Truth warband. The first company was the first reinforcements to make it to the Shadow Griffin's aid, and he even killed the original leader of the Veiled Truth on the warbands original flagship. He wields a massive power sword.
- Captain Sekatar, "The Hiddentalon" - Sekatar leads the 3rd company of the Saurian Tyrants, which the company specializes in stealth operations, and long range warfare. Sekatar rarely speaks and mainly uses sign language. Sekatar is very different from the other captains and is very off putting to the other captains, since he doesn't like duals and prefers to trap and kill from far distances and even has master crafted Las fusil. Sekatar does have power axe, but rarely uses it and tries to avoid it at all cost. Sekatar one time took on five alpha legionaries that infiltrated his company and won.
Chapter Fleet[]
- Amber Maw (Battle Barge) - The chapter's flagship.
Chapter Relics[]
- Drakesbane - A massive flaming Power axe, and it belonged to the original chapter master.
- Tyrants Wrath - A power talon that breaks through armor with ease, with a storm bolter
- Saurian Hide - A unique piece of Terminator armor that was made for Kaelar specifically, and its machine spirit is extremely violent and will drive marines into a rage. Kaelar is the only one able to wear it.
- Obsidian - The largest Tyrannosaur that was tamed by Vorek, and now is armored and given weaponry.
- Volcanoes Wraith - A land raider redeemer that was created way before the chapter, and might have been made during the horus heresy.
- Drake flame - A master crafted melta gun, and High Chaplain Gor'rok Jorun uses it.
