The Redeemers are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter comprised entirely of Primaris Space Marines, raised during the Ultima Founding from unknown lineage, circa 999.M41. This Chapter was created to provide a stalwart defence over the vital Imperial sectors of the Eastern Fringe against potential xenos threats from outside the known galaxy, particularly against the ravaging Orks and the insatiable Tyranids.
Chapter History
During their actions on the Indomitus Crusade the members of the Redeemers were part of the Unnumbered Sons, acting in a mixed group with members of many other chapters. The chapter would be created later around the end of the crusade and would be dispatched in a new area of operations far from the at the time position of the Crusade's fleet.
Although the members of the chapter would operate usually in much bigger formations, only a few hundreds astartes were placed under the chapter's command. They also would recieve only a small fleet, beeing promised to receive more vessels once they reached the final destination of their journey to the Eastern Fringes.
Disaster would soon strike the chapter in their travels. Having already started to build up their numbers, the Redeemers would be ambushed during a warp travel were their small fleet would be attacked by warp spawn. It's unknown what events took place in the warp besides the fact that only around 200 Redeemers emerged alive aboard the Astra Invictus and the Strike Cruiser Void's Blessing.
The Chapter would still strugle in their journey to the Eastern Fringes, while assisting the forces of mankind in innumerous conflicts. Their ranks would only be strenghtened again once the chapter managed to get to the Forge World of Triplex Phall, a key position on their route, where they would be able to replenish their equipment, rebuild their fleet and to recruit inhabitants of the nearby planets in to their ranks. After their fleet was rebuilt the chapter resumed in their path towards their designated area of operations and have very little of it beeing heard ever since.
Notable Campaigns
- The Great Penitence (early M42) - The Redeemers traveled through a large portion of the Imperium trying to reach their newly designated area of operations near the Eastern Fringes. They would take heavy losses and would be ambushed while traveling through the warp before reaching their final destination.
- Plague Wars (ca. 111.M42) - The Redeemers kept watch over Thramas Sector as the chapter was in disrepair due to recent events, only taking charge of small scale operations such as the quenching of the rebellion taking place in the Mining World of Dorbah V.
- Revolt in Dorbah V (111.M42) - was the conflict in Dorbah V, were it's population of slaves, prisoners and civilians took arms both in support and against the planetary administration. Many groups would be formed during the conflict and wage war for months. The revolt would only be quenched by the Redeemers who arrived and managed to eradicate any opposing forces and reestablish control of Dorbah V to its rightful governor. By the end of the conflict only 1/6 of the original population would remain alive in Dorbah V.
- Goldenray (111.M42) - The Redeemers investigated the world of Goldenray after strange reports indicating hostile activity on it's surface. Upon arrival they were greeted by "zombified" guardsman, who took arms against the Chapter.
Fortress-Monastery
The Redeemers are a fleet-based Chapter, and they utilize their mighty Battle Barge, the Astra Invictus as their Fortress-Monastery. The Redeemers recruit from planets on their fleets path, either by taking in the orphans of said planets, - through agreements with the planet's administration - or by kidnapping their future battle-brothers.

Chapter Beliefs
Captain Gabriel Praetor in action
The Redeemers are martial warriors who take greate pride in their skills and in fighting for the Imperium. They follow the Codex Astartes closelly while adding their own imput based on their experiences on the battlefield. They believe that they can redeem themselves through their actions in the battlefield and will assist the citizens of the Imperium in any way they can, even in the direst of situations.
Warriors of purity seeking redemption from actions that weren't even carried out by them, they see their genetic descendancy as both a curse and as a blessing - even though, some of them wish their origin was different. The Redeemers go to extreme lenghts to make sure that their foes have been properly purged and redeemed in the eyes of the Emperor. Colaboration with xenos is rare, but following the example of Guilliman they will cooperate when deemed necessary.
Chapter Gene-Seed
Having only Primaris Space Marines, the Redeemers don't have any known gene flaws. Their gene-seed is perfectly pure and somewhat considered stronger than of the average gene-seed of a Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes. The full origin of the Chapter's gene-seed though appears to have been purged of official records, and their descendance is unknown to very few, besides the members of the Chapter.

Combat Doctrine
The Redeemers are specialized in shock assault and armoured assault tactics. They regularly practice close-quarters actions, both based on planetary structures and boarding action. Battle-brothers of the Chapter are also expected to take on planetary interdiction, and high ranking officers are daily trained to deal with diplomatic relations and civilian populations. This results in a flexible fighting force, able to adapt to almost any combat situation, while being capable to take on diplomatic roles, negotiating with their enemies when necessary.
Deathwatch Service
Many of Redeemers have joined the Deathwatch in service against xeno threats. Serving under the Deathwatch though it's seen as a privilege only received in times of relative peace to the Chapter, as they usually operate understrengh due to heavy losses sustained in combat.
