Trivia[]
The Red Wolves Chapter badge and colours were created by a fan group at Wolftime Gaming . Using the traditional Paint scheme of the Space Wolves they created the chapter on the release of 40k 8th Edition, though expanded the Chapter on the release of 40k 9th Edition.
Chapter Inspiration[]
Following the example of the Space Wolves where the most recent incarnation is described as "a fantasy-style army in a science fiction universe." The backstory and "character" of the army is inspired by Germanic and Celtic barbarian mythology with a strong focus on the mythology of the Norse Vikings. The release of Primaris Marines in the 8th/9th Editions and the lack of Space Wolf specific characters (and the unwillingness of the Space Wolves to include Primaris Marines in their force) meant it was an ideal time to look to creating a fully Primaris Marine force for use in 40k.
Often perceived to be an all-out assault army, like the Blood Angels or Black Templars; this is, however, erroneous, for the Space Wolves/The Red Wolves have a much more flexible and balanced play style and a greater behavioural reliability than other Chapters.
