The Red Tusks are a 7th Founding Space Marine Chapter of the lineage of Sanguinius. They are a successor chapter of the Red Mammoths, and maintain close ties with their parent chapter. They are fleet based chapter, specialising in close-quarters assaults such as space hulk purgation and boarding actions, as well as aerial assault. However, unlike their parent chapter and their progenitor chapter, the Blood Angels, the Red Tusks also excel at armoured warfare, often striding into battle inside huge war machines, crushing the bodies of their foes beneath the tracks of their tanks, the red and gold metal skin of their war machines a resplendent sight in the midst of battle.
Most recently, the Red Tusks answered the call for aid from their progenitor chapter, the Blood Angels, when the vile aliens of Hive Fleet Leviathan threatened their homeworld of Baal and her two moons. Alongside many other successor chapters of the Blood Angels, including their parent chapter and closest allies, the Red Mammoths, the Red Tusks rushed to the aid of their progenitors.
The Red Tusks were wiped out completely save for a handful of battle-brothers. Were it not for the introduction of the Primaris Space Marines, it would be safe to assume that the Red Tusks would have been destroyed, unable to rebuild their numbers up to full fighting strength. As it is, the Red Tusks are now almost entirely made up of Primaris Marines.
Chapter History
The Red Tusks are famous within the galaxy for their expertise at armoured warfare, their war machines driving into their enemy's position like the tusks of a mammoth, wet with the blood of the heretic and the xenos. They have participated in some of the most famous tank battles in the history of the Imperium.
Like their progenitor chapter, the Blood Angels, the Red Tusks are also experts in the art of aerial assault. They also perform many close-quarters assaults such as space hulk purgation and boarding actions. However, they come alive in the midst of an armoured assault. The Red Tusks exchange speed in their war machines for extra layers of thick armour, the better to soak up the firepower of their enemies.

Chapter Homeworld
As a fleet-based Chapter, the Red Tusks do not have a homeworld, instead maintaining a mobile fortress-monastery on their flagship, The Sanguine Tusk. However, they do keep a store of gene-seed and a base on the homeworld of their parent chapter, the Red Mammoths.

Chapter Organisation
The Techmarines of the Red Tusks are a vital part of part of their combat disposition. The Red Tusks have an unusually large number of Techmarines in their ranks, almost one per squad. The Red Tusks often deploy their squads as separate, autonomous units outside of the chain of command of a company. They consider it vital for at least one member of each squad to be well versed in the esoteric knowledge of the Adeptus Mechanicus.

Chapter Beliefs
Priding themselves on their knowledge and skill in the lore of the mechanical, the Red Tusks often accompany the adepts of the Adeptus Mechanicus on missions to salvage archeotech, particularly Standard Template Construct (STC) technology. It is traditional for some of the highest ranking members of the chapter to sport many bionic implants to show their status within the chapter. The augmetics also represent the level of knowledge the battle-brothers of the chapter have in the lore of the Mechanicus.

Combat Doctrine
The Red Tusks specialise in close-quarters actions such as space hulk purgation and boarding operations, as well as aerial assault, but they are famous for armoured warfare, and this is where they come alive. Their assaults are often preceded by an orbital bombardment to soften up their landing zone, as well as to take out the majority of the enemy's defences. This orbital bombardment is followed by a large drop pod assault, followed by the Red Tusks' war machines being transported to the surface.

After the Red Tusks deploy their armour, beginning with the faster vehicles such as the Scout Bikes, Assault Bikes, Attack Bikes and Jetbikes, they field their heavier armour, often customised to exchange speed for thicker armour plates and extra weapons. Following this, their infantry is fielded.
Each company, and each squad within a company is taught be to an autonomous fighting force, capable of operating outside of the chain of command. Like with their war machines, the Red Tusks typically field squads with heavier firepower, such as Desolation Squads and Hellblaster Squads. However, they do enjoy melee combat, finding it satisfying to watch the life bleed from the eyes of their enemies, their chainswords teeth becoming clogged with blood and gore. It is a refreshing change from the cocoon of their war machines, although this is typically where they are most comfortable, and where their tactical genius reaches its peak.
