The Radiant Scars are an Ultima Founding chapter of the Adeptus Astartes, formed by the command of the Blood Angels' Chapter Master, Lord Commander Dante, following the Devastation of Baal and the arrival of Rouboute Guilliman and the newly unveiled Primaris Space Marines.
Chapter History
The chapter got founded when Roboute Guilliman joined the forces of Blood Angels and their successor Chapters in the Devastation of Baal, to support the remaining chapters in cleaning the area around Baal, known as the "Red Scar", from the remaining Tyranids of Hive Fleet Leviathan.
As they operate as a fleet-based chapter they recruit from different planets but try to stick to recruiting from planets in the Red Scar. Instead of using one commanding ship for all the primary parts of a chapter (Armoury, Reclusiam, Librarius, ect.), they have one designated ship for each task.
They genuinely care about the people they work with, including normal humans and try to keep civilian losses at a minimum, but they also think that the means can justify the result, so if losing a planet to win a war is needed, they will sacrifice that planet without any restraints. As they are founded in the Ultima Founding, they almost entirely consist of Primaris Space Marines, but sometimes they take in Firstborn Space Marines from other chapters if they wish to join the ranks of the Radiant Scars, offering those Firstborns a place in a dedicated company.
The Scars don't see any reason for internal fighting, humanity already has enough issues, especially with half of the galaxy now in darkness. If another chapter doesn't like them for some reason, but they have to deal with each other, so be it. The job will be done and they will quickly part ways at its conclusion.
The Radian Scars give everyone a fair chance. If the other party doesn't want to take that chance it's their loss.
The Chapter does not embrace their flaw but doesn't hide it as it is a part of their "natural evolution" as a Blood Angels' successor.
The members of the Death Company are remembered as honourable brothers, no matter where it affects them, but if it overcomes them while around civilians with no enemies around, it's every Marine's duty to release that affected brother of his curse before they completely lose control over themselves. The Scars Death Company is fairly small as it is, so a situation where civilians are around have only happened twice by now. The first time there were many civilian casualties as a whole squad lost itself to the rage while on a patrol mission which caused a whole village to get wiped out.
The second time wasn't that bad as just one brother turned, which got released immediately before he could cause any harm.
