The Piron Trap was an Imperial defensive action conducted the Grey Steeds Space Marine Chapter in defense of their Chapter home world of Grassia from a group of Chaos Cultists that had infiltrated the local nomadic clans. In an attempt to hunt them down and purge them from existence, the Chapter was unknowingly led into a carefully executed trap.

After the slaughtered the cultists, upon the death of the final heretic, they were ambushed by a small Nurglite Chaos Warband led by a Great Daemon of Nurgle. Fierce fighting followed, but eventually resulted in a stalemate, as both forces were forced to withdraw after sustaining several casualites on both sides.

History[]

A group of chaos cultists is spotted among the people of the nomadic clans of Grassia. The chapter's seventh company, led by Noren Lupus, rides to intercept what they believe are fanaticals trying to conduct a blasphemous ritual. The pursuit, however, proved to be a trap, for when the last Cultist is slain, a toxic mist appears out of thin air, affecting several animals and brothers before they have the time to activate the power armor air filter.

After the chemical attack, they are ambushed by a small warband of Nurgle worshippers known as the Sons of Poison, led by the Lord of Contagion, Toxul Evermist. After the fierce combat both forces withdraw due to heavy losses.
