"Precision in every move, purpose in every breath. Onwards to do His will!"
—Khaten Sen 2nd Chapter Master of the Nemeon Solar

Chapter History[]

Nemeon Solar is a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter recently reformed during the Indomitus Crusade to hold bastion over a newly formed protectorate near the border to Imperium Nihilus. As a 26th founding Chapter, Sou Van of the White Scars became the first successor Chapter Master of the Nemeon Solar. Sou Van disappeared with over half of the chapter after leading them on a chase after Drukharii , the records of the endeavour have been lost to history.

What remained of the chapter mustered back on their home planet of Balas, which was shortly there after besieged by unknown Xenos. The defensive battle around the system took almost half a century and was finally victorious by passing elements of the Crusade launched by the Primarch reborn Roboute Guilliman. Most of the chapter had been wiped out and the surrounding systems around Balas burned. The Nemeon Solar gained knowledge of the creation of Primaris marines and their war gear. Anointed by Guilliman to defend the ravaged systems around its homeworld while the rebuilding took place. The chapter currently consists almost entirely of Primaris and nearly all surviving firstborn have crossed over to become Rubicon Primaris.

Notable Campaigns[]

Chapter Homeworld[]

By current records the small Nemeon protectorate holds only a few systems and has planets with varied amounts of technological advancement, The home planet of Nemeon Solar and the capital of the protectorate Balas is a feudal world with a population in the hundreds of millions, Balas could be considered a paradise world if it wasn't for the highly volatile climate and the harsh biomes it holds. from its northern glaciers to its boiling deserts the planet is a good fit to cull the weak from those to become one of the brothers with the purpose a Nemeon Solar.

Balas Auxialiry officer

The native population of Balas are hardened folk with strong ideals and culture shaping the chapter in their image over the years the different biomes in Balas has created multiple sub cultures and kingdoms with in the planet however the chapter was soon elevated as the ruling part of the planet the people welcoming them with open arms and very proud to serve the chapter any way possible. the warrior culture very similar to Chogoris means the men of the planet make for excellent Imperial guard tho the small population makes them a quite minor force mostly guarding the protectorate aswell as fighting along the Nemeon Solar on their campaigns.

Fortress-Monastery[]

Castle Nayoki

Castle Nayoki is a fortress constructed by the population of Balas for the Nemeon Solar, a great amount of effort was spent on its design and making. The castle when first constructed only housed a company of space marines but has later been expanded with additional towers and halls.

The castle's most important feature is the Tacticarum constructed at the request of the second and current chapter master Khaten Sen.

Tacticarum[]

After the foil of Sou Van and the reforms of the chapter the Tacticarums construction began, Khaten Sens's new vision of streamlined efficiency and focus on one purpose called for a space where the most highly ranked officers of the chapter would come together for highest level of concideration and planning, every campaign the Nemean Solar launches has been planned to the slightest detail with back up plans for every possibility, from logistical chains to the deepstrike co-ordinates of a singular terminator. This level of utmost planning creates whats referred as the Purpose.

Chapter Organisation[]

The rise of the new chapter master and his vast reforms to the chapter has made Nemeon Solar abandon the Chogorian ranking system and go back to standard codex-dictated rankings, With few additions to better support their high logistical needs.

  • Captain

Order of Battle[]

Headquarters[]

Companies[]

The Nemean Solars heavy usage of armor and aircraft rarely sees them deploying any forces under two hundred marines at a time. The exception is the Command Company's Terminators and Honor Guard which are sometimes used by the Chapter Master for missions requiring subtlety.

The only forces not split at all times are the Armored Companies every deployment sees use of all aspects of the chapter, Logistics, Air Support, Seeker and Command Companies dispatch forces to support the Armored Companies but are not meant to be coherent fighting forces by themselves.

  • 1st Command Company - The First Company consists of deployable command headquarters, command link squads, Auspex squads as well as terminator elite and Honor Guard that function as an extension to the Chapter Master's will on any campaign. The leader of the Honor Guard, Sokhai Koban, also carries the title of Captain of the first company.
  • 2nd Armored Company - The second company is the most elite out of the four armored companies, wielding the largest amount of veterans and ace tank crews in the chapter. Naturally they are tasked with the most urgent missions and have an excellent record. almost all of the 2nd armored company are survivals of the siege of Balas. The company is lead by Vui Haljur excellent tacticians and an even better tank commander with his Astraeus super-heavy known as "Shield of Balas" they also possess they highest amount of heavy armor in the chapter.
  • 3rd Armored Company - The third company is the most infantry based out of the armored companies, wielding the largest amount of terminators they often are able to land on planets the other armored companies might struggle with establishing landing zones and doing hit and run manuevers against the defender. Most of their armor are Impulsors and Repulsors.
  • 4th Armored Company - The fourth company specializes in taking out enemies with high amounts of armor and vehicles, they favor vehicles such as Gladiator Lancer and Repulsor Executioner aswell as Astraeus super heavies. Captain Jubun Nergis prefers the tactic of withering the enemy armor down with multiple layers of ambushes to take out a few key vehicles at a time and withdrawing under artillery support fire.
  • 5th Armored Company - "Dark company" Standing out from the other companies the fifth are rutheless and often looked down upon by other companies for having little regard for civilian casualities or damage to infrastructure often bombarding down entire city blocks to take out valued targets instead of deploying a unit of reavers or terminators. they have a wider range of vehicles in use than the other companies most of them requisitioned from the reserve company and never returned. They spend little time on Balas often staying in the void instead on their strike cruiser "Wrath of Oni". Lead by Khemris Xur the dishonored or craven as the other captains call him. They are a necessary evil in the chapter brutally efficient devastation Khaten Sen tends to send them to worlds where reconquering is no longer an option.
  • 6th Reserve Company - The Reserve company mainly consists of older space marine armor variants with specialized roles not full filled by the armored companies such as Stalkers, Whirlwinds, Hunters and Vindicators and their crew. aswell as specialized weapons crews Hellblasters and Aggressors squads with impulsor transports all ready to reinforce the armored companies in battle.
  • 7thAir Support Company - Is the aerial might of the chapter commanding multiple Overlords armed to the teeth, Stormtalons and Stormhawks they bring death from above. Every pilot marine in the air support company has bionic enhancements to improve their overall awareness and piloting capabilities. Lead by Captain Temas Yesukhen.
  • 8th Logistical Company -
  • 9th Logistical Company -
  • 10th Seeker Company - Seeker company houses all of the scout marine equilevant seekers of purpose marines who perform scouting and targeting missions with the more veteteran members of the company being full battle brothers perform sabotage and assassination tasks. they are lead by the chapter mentor Ghos Xal.

Chapter Recruitment[]

Recruitment for the chapter follows a long-standing agreement with the people of Balas with the oldest son of each family taking part in the trials, however unusual to most chapters Khaten Sen has dictated that the first stage of the trials not being physical but a mental test, testing less for intelligence or perception and more for character. Most tryouts get weeded out before the real trials begin to not waste the sons of the local population for nothing. This practice has gained the chapter increasing favor with their home world.

After the mental test, the conditioning begins the tryouts are tested on the most dangerous biomes of Balas, glaciers, desert, jungle, reefs, and mountains finally returning to the lush green fields near Castle Nayoki for the final test of one on one combat with traditional Balas dueling blades, this last test weeding out half of the participants that didn't already fall to the elements. leaving only the finest few to become space marines.

The final process to become a fully-fledged battle brother is crafting the Mask of Oni which is made from the bones of an enemy deemed challenging enough. Some even create it from the bones of other Seekers killed during the last trials which is considered a great honor to the opponent. Every mask is unique to the creator and is finally attached to the front plate of their helmets after they pass their time as a Seeker of Purpose.

Chapter Gene-Seed[]

The records state that the gene-seed of the Nemeon Solar has not gone through much degeneration from the original white scars gene-seed over the years.

Genetic Flaws[]

The Primarch's Curse known as 'Chogorian Savagery' has neither been proven to consist nor not consist within the chapter.

Chapter Beliefs[]

Brothers of the Nemeon Solar do not perceive the Emperor of Mankind to be a god but rather a guiding light to their purpose and ideals. It is common for the battle-brothers to practice poetry and meditation as well as take part in many strategically demanding board games, honing their minds as well as their fighting skills is a key prospect within the chapter.

Purpose[]

The purpose is much more than just battleplans or oaths and vows, lining your mind and body with the purpose is a spiritual state the members of the Nemeon solar aspire for before battle a type of hyper fixation on the up coming mission, being perfectly aligned with ones purpose gives the brothers an unmatched awareness of their surroundings and focus on the objective. Most of the newer primaris recruits struggle with the harsh prebattle meditation regimes required where as some of the most experienced Nemeon solar can align themselves with their purpose in the heat of battle, some battle brothers only experience the perfect alignment moments before their deaths in a last stand to complete their objective.

Combat Doctrine[]

Nemeon Solar or brothers of purpose as they call each other are a breed of Space Marines focused on swift overwhelming tactics. Known to wield vast amounts of Astraeus super-heavy tanks and Astartes aircraft. They excel in ranged combat using their vehicles to close the distance supported by bombing raids whilst terminators are deployed into the enemy backlines to sabotage and take out key targets. The wave of tanks and motorized infantry rolling over the hamstrung enemy, every move and action done with precision and purpose as the Tacticarum dictates.

Deathwatch Service[]

Multiple marines from the chapter were submitted to the deathwatch during the time of Sou Van after his disappearance the chapter was no longer in position to spare a single warrior, even long after the chapter started to restabilize again Chapter master Khaten Sen chose not to submit any of the more experienced first born for they were gravely needed to train and integrate the new primaris rapidly reinforcing the chapter.

Eversince then the chapter has submitted some aspiring primaris marines to death watch. the chapter expertise against Drukharii is highly sought after by some Ordo Xenos Inquisitors.

Chapter Appearance[]

The chapter's battleplate is often highly decorated to match the warriors of their homeworld Balas with the mask of oni being one of their most outstanding details, the more experienced warriors tend to add additional armor plates to better protect themselves from ranged fire as losing a small amount of mobility for motorized units is not a worry.

During the days of Sou Van, the relations were much warmer.
  • Ultra Marines - The aid recieved during the besiegement of Balas and the knowledge given has put the Nemeon Solar in debt of the Ultramarines holding good relations with the chapter few marines staying behind from the crusade for a while to assist in the begin of the Primaris project on Balas.

Enemies[]

  • Drukhari - The chapter's most hated foe.
  • Orks - Most often engaged foe for the chapter sometimes traveling far to bring down a newly risen waagh the chapter's tactics have appeared to be most successful against large tides of unorganized enemies.
