This article is comprised of a complete list of all the fanon Adepta Sororitas Order created by our contributors here on the WH40K Homebrew Wiki. Along with a brief synopsis of each Order, this list also serves as a visual reference. Included in this list are Expanded Universe Order as well as those Order who join the Chaos, regardless if they serve the Dark Gods or not. This list does not include Order that fall into the humour category. This is an ongoing project, and as such, additional Order will be added or removed accordingly. For those Order that are missing from the list, please feel free to edit this article and add it, or if the Order article has been deleted, feel free to remove it.
The Order of the Ardent Oath is an Order Militant of Convent Sanctorum created in early M39 to bolster the canonization of newly admitted Saint Forlorn. They are assigned the Shrine World of Morn - the birthplace of their Patron Saint, and tasked with purging heresy from the Argus Sector and find that their holy task will not leave them wanting as the sector is beset by wicked heresy, traitors and xenos.
The Order of the Ashen Mantle is an order of the Adepta Sororitas that guards the Serein Sector of the Ultima Segmentum. Founded purely for military purposes, it has the dual duties of garrisoning the Brimstone Fortress and maintaining vigil over the Shrine World of Arxis II and the pilgrim route that leads to it. The former is a massive bastion and logistical nod that must remain in imperial hands to be able to support future large-scale conflicts and crusades. The latter is the birth world and resting place of a famous saint and Astra Militarum officer, Orellius the Opprobrious.
The Order of the Azure Sky is an Ordo Militant Adepta Sororitas order that was formed on the new Cardinal World of Palros's Reach. The Order was on Palros when an Ork WAAAGH! invaded during their planning phase, forcing a mere company to hold back the greenskin tide. With the help of the Azure Ravens Chapter, the Battle-Sisters were able to turn the tide and wipe out the Ork scum. In gratitude, the Order took the name 'Azure Sky' in honour of their Space Marine allies.
The Order of the Baroque Chalice is a small order of six and a half thousand sisters belonging to the Convent Prioris. They are fleet-based and roam the Segmentum Pacificus hunting down heretics and orks.
The Order of the Black Banner are an Order Minoris of the Adepta Sororitas, operating out of Port Gallowglass. Unofficially known as the Pirate Order or the Privateer Sisters, they were raised from newly converted the pirates and brigands of Port Gallowglass after being visited by Saint Bonita of Murande. Despite their faith and duty, they have kept many of their former traditions, practices and beliefs leading some to question if they are truly worthy of the title of Sororitas. However, despite their young age, the order is ever eager to prove itself by raiding Xenos worlds, destroying heretic fleets and proselytizing in the oft neglected underhives, slums and ghettos just like their patron Saint Bonita did.
The Order of the Blazing Horizon are an Order Minoris of the Adepta Sororitas based in the Sentar System of the Sanctus Sector in the Segmentum Ultima. They were founded by Canoness Becca Paratus and settled on Noliath because, being at the edge of the Imperium and being victim of a warp storm that cut them off from the Imperium, there were frequent invasions in the system. Noliath is now a relatively peaceful planet but it hasn't always been so. This was the most strategic planet for the Sisters to set up their secondary convent in order to keep a watchful eye over the the other planets in the area and become a rapid response team. This was also a politically sound planet to call their homeworld. The Sisters of the Blazing Horizon have a fondness for purging by fire and they work well with other Imperial forces including the Inquisition. They are very focused and if one word of potential heresy crosses the lips of a person, there are no second chances. They will immediately be taken by the sisters and tested for the taint of chaos. Then the culprit, if able to pass the test, is placed in a reconditioning school and must make their penance. Surprisingly enough, this order does not have a larger than average number of Repentias but they do have quite a bit of penitent engines and mortifiers.
The Order of the Blessed Laurel is one of the Ordo Minoris with numbers around 4000 Battle Sisters belong to the Convent Prioris. From their Shrine World of Pontavar in Herzavar Sector, the Blessed Laurel roam around the Imperium aiding the weak and purge both Heretics and Aliens alike. The order is well known for its undying devotion to the Emperor of Mankind and values loyalty, devotion, self-sacrifice, and aid to the weak. The order combat doctrine is known for its extensive usage of fiery melee weapons, incendiary bolter rounds and lightning attack through mass number of both Zephyrim and Seraphim squad.
The Order of the Blind Sisterhood are the remnants of a fledgling Adepta Sororitas Convent sent to be established in a distant part of the Segmentum Tempestus. With hopes to confirm and pronounce the elusive Living Saint, Fifine, a substantial force was dispatched. However setback after setback, military defeats, fracturing leadership and ultimately a calamitous discovery, whittled away their strength. The remaining Sisters have gathered around Legatine Sophia Prudence, who has allied to a Lord Inquisitor and agreed to become his sword.
The Order of Blooming Darkness is an Ordo Minoris originating from the Order of the Sacred Rose who honors the deceased Saint Lauriam. They are extremely faithful and loyal and believe that once you turn your back on the Imperium, there is no coming back. However, the sisters of this order are also highly in touch with the beauty of the Imperium and take it upon themselves to only destroy the world they're fighting on past rebuilding if absolutely necessary.
The Order of the Cardinal Mistress is an Order Militant of Convent Sanctorum created in M42 at the behest of Eos Ritira, as one of the earliest actions when she took office. The Order, which hails from the rural world Sancaos XII, was tasked to assist the Indomitus Crusade with every fiber of their being. The patron saint of the order is Saint Ameldael, who gave her life during the defense of Cadia before the Cicatrix Maledictum appeared, during the 12th Black Crusade.
The Order of the Crimson Sepulchre is an Order Militant of the Convent Sanctorum hailing from the Shrine World of Narona in the Ultima Segmentum. Created in M38 in the wake of a heretical uprising on the very world they now call home, the Order's main purpose is the continuation of the battle that birthed them, namely the pursuit and purgation of heretical uprisings on planets across the Imperium.
The Daughters of Guilliman are a fairly young Adepta Sororitas Order completely dedicated to the resurrected Ultramarines Primarch Roboute Guilliman, with loyalty to him taking priority over anything else. They hail from a little-known planet called Britannia (named after an ancient Terran empire by the scholars who colonized the planet long ago) at the edge of Ultramar. Unconventionally, these Sisters do not serve the Inquisition, and they allow "battle brothers" among them, including but not limited to space marines. If they thought he weren't against the idea, they might worship Roboute Guilliman, as he is very much a 'savior' to them.
The Order Dolphinus is a minor ordo militant of the Adepta Sororitas that grew out of the Order of the Ebon Chalice and the Orders Sabine. Founded in response to the notorious Lan Austere Affair in M40, the young order operates out of the Abbey of Our Lady Amphitrite alongside the Orcinus Astra Adeptus Astartes on the Imperial Shrine World of Oceanus. They maintain an intimately close relationship with the Blackfish, so much so that Dolphina are recognized as "nukah" (battle sisters) and are organized into the Chapter's Moieties alongside the Space Marines themselves. For all practical purposes, they operate as a single institution even though the Dolphina take tremendous care to assuage concerned actors in the Ecclesiarchy that they are not.
The Sisters from the Order of the Dawn are a minor order Pronatus. Although they are a non militant order, they are called upon for interrogation of heretics, witches and xenos. They have a deep respect for relics and want to learn more about chaos relics in order to further the knowledge of the Imperium. Quite skilled at interrogation and getting to the truth, they are rarely duped by their subjects. They were chosen to fill the ranks of the Order of the Dawn due to their curiosity, thirst for knowledge, unwavering faith to the Imperium and they believe that, with the right questions, answers can further the order's knowledge of chaos, chaos relics and worshipers.
The Order of the Divine Fire is a Lesser Order Militant of the Adepta Sororitas, created on the world of Encendion in the Azuran Sector from a splinter "radical" faction of the Order of the Eternal Flame in the year 781.M41. The most sacred artifact of the Order is a fire created by a weapon of the Salamanders Primarch Vulkan during the Great Crusade, taken from Gielia and cared for for centuries. Holy braziers lit everywhere the Orders' military forces travel, as well as all over the world of Encendion itself from the massive Cathedra to the Hospitaller district to the Chapel-Barracks of the world. Like their mother order, they believe in mercy to the penitent no matter their crime and brutal, burning violence against the heretic, daemon, and xeno.
The Order of the Dire Moon is an order founded on Fenris and made up almost exclusively of Fenrisian natives. Despite being a burgeoning new chapter, the believes of the clans have heavily permiated the convent in just a few short decades. The Sisters pray in the name of the Allfather and a few of the older superiors are old enough to remember when the world was seiged by both the Thousand Suns and the Inquisition, embittered to both.
The Order of the Ember Thorn is one of the many Orders Militant of the Adepta Sororitas, known also as the Sisters of Battle. This Order was founded in honour of Saint Sabbat by an unknown Ecclesiarch in the 38th Millennium. Although Founded at the same time as the more famous Orders, they have never reached the same level of fame or size as the more celebrated Orders, they have, nevertheless, continuously served the Emperor faithfully for over three thousand years. They are known for possessing large numbers of Sisters Repentia.
The Order of the Eternal Bloom is an Order Militant of the Adepta Sororitas. The Order was founded on the Shrine World of Hydrangea in 537.M40. The sisters of the Eternal Bloom believe that the Emperor's light is with them always and so their faith is always in bloom.
The Order of the Eternal Flame is a Lesser Order Militant of the Adepta Sororitas, founded on the Shrine World of Gielia in 448.M39. The Battle Sisters of the order are notable for following some tenants of the Salamanders' Promethean Cult, valuing self-reliance, self-sacrifice, and loyalty. Like the Salamanders, the Order of the Eternal Flame fights to defend the common people of the Imperium, and frequently aid the Imperial Guard in countless war zones across the Imperium.
The Order of the Eternal Sands is an Order Militant of the Adepta Sororitas and spiritual descendant of their patron saint, Aliya. It was founded after the Siege of Nudaa Al-Sabah in which the Order of Our Martyred Lady fought side by side with the planet's inhabitants, the Sukaan Al-Jibah, to destroy a Cult of Tzeentch that had corrupted large quantities of the world's population at that time. The new Sisterhood was formed in response to the increased activities of the Forces of Chaos in the sector, a threat that the Sisters of Battle opposed during the Jihad Al-Hakim, a War of Faith that conquered the entire sub-sector in retribution to the Ruinous Powers' aggressions against their homeworld. The campaign concluded decades later with the creation of the first Caliphate and with it a theocratic regime that would change the fate of billions forever.
The Order of the Golden Lioness are a powerful, prideful, and boisterous force of female warriors of the Adepta Sororitas. Hailing from the same planet as their Battle-Brothers of the Blood Hounds Space Marine Chapter, they were found during the rediscovery of the planet Hartjen by an unknown Inquisitor of a Grey Knights squad in M37. This particular Order believes that the Emperor has manifested himself as the raging storms across Hartjen. They see it as their role to use the Emperor's Storm or Woedende to strike against the xeno, heretic, and mutant. They also believe that it is their duty to help the innocent no matter who it is.
The Order of the Holy Flame is a minor Order Militant of the Adepta Sororitas which operates from their homeworld Sophia's Rest. Their order was created to watch over the remains of the Imperial Saint Sophia. They maintain a stoic vigil over the Persid system and across the western Segmentum Solar for they know they are the last reliable bastion of the Emperor's Light on the frontier. They stand between Holy Terra and whatever dire threats lurk in the war-torn Segmentum Pacificus.
Order of the Iron Rose is a Minor Order of the Adepta Sororitas that is tasked with the protection of the Friorhol Sector, but more importantly the protection of Vriod and its System the Faegiroa Star System. This sisterhood was founded almost immediately once the Adepta Sororitas was founded, finding a quick home in the heavily Ecclesiarchy control system. After the event is known as the "Battle of the Emperor's Word" the Order of the Iron Rose has agreed to allow the Sector's Inquisitorial Conclave's Ordo Hereticus Inquisitors to use and command Commanderies of sisters.
The Order of the Lambent Chorus is a lesser Order Militant of the Convent Sanctorum, hailing from the Cardinal World of Castoro in the Segmentum Pacificus, and founded in honour of Saint Mara in the early 41st Millennium. Much like their Matriarch, the sisters of the Lambent Chorus take to their duties with a brooding and solemn demeanour. Despite their otherwise dark countenance, the sisters of the Lambent Choras are often seen in the accompaniment of other orders of the Adeptus Sororitas, chiefly either the Orders Pronatus, or the Orders Hospitaller.
The Order of the Martyred Heart are a lesser known Order Militant of the Adepta Sororitas that are spiritual descendants of the Order of the Valorous Heart, one of the most aggressively penitent of all sister Order; aggressively stamping out heresy with murderous zeal. From this order sprang the Order of the Martyred Heart. Hailing from the deadly and verdant jungle death world of Tenocit these Battle-Sisters recruit potential aspirants from the local populace, putting their aspirants through a grueling contest known as the 'Dark Road of the Sun'. Due to their preferred style of warfare the Order is often found to be understrength. Combined with the fact that the Dark Road of the Sun trial offers a limited recruiting pool of potential candidates, the subsequent battle-sisters are exceptionally well-honed warriors, and they rarely suffer heavy casualties. The trials these sisters endure make them extremely tougher than average. They are able to endure any environment or any type of warzone. No hardship is too great, no pain too severe that they waver in their duty. Like a relentless force of nature, these savage Battle-Sisters descend upon their enemies like a whirlwind of destruction, ravaging their enemies in a hail of limbs and body parts, until nothing remains.
The Order of the Midnight Vigil is a minor Order Pronatus of the Adepta Sororitas that was formed sometime in the 39th Millennium in response to a developing need of the Ecclesiarchy to ensure the defense of the Cemetery Worlds under its care. Never a very large order, the Midnight Vigil mostly remained localized, and have suffered considerable losses during the dangerous events throughout the 41st and 42nd Millennia. Like all Sisters of the Adepta Sororitas, the Order of the Midnight Vigil employs the "Holy Trinity" of bolter, flamer, and melta, although they take to the flamer in particular, using it to burn away any aspect of plague or contagion. Given the penny-packet nature of their deployments, they tend to eschew most heavier weaponry and almost all heavy vehicles, barring the occasional Rhino or Immolator transport.
The Order of the Motive Force is one of the three "Omnissian Orders" - Adepta Sororitas Orders which have a hybrid belief of the standard Imperial Cult and the Cult Mechanicus. This order specifically venerates the Motive Force of the Divine Trinity. Due to this, the sisters of the Order carry equipment usually reserved to Electro-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus, of both the Corpuscarii and the Fulgurite sect, which can cause friction within the Order. One of its sister Orders focuses on the Omnissiah and the other on the Machine-God. (Note: This Adepta Sororitas Order falls under the Alternate Universe category.)
The Order of the Night Angels is an Order Minoris of the Adepta Sororitas based in the CalixisSegmentum Obscurus Sector on the Frontier world of Angelus Reach. The Order comprises remnants of Adeptus Sororitas hailing from Order of the Argent Shroud, Orders Dialogous, and Orders Hospitaller. The Order of Night Angels bereft of any Imperial support or knowledge of the frontier world crashed onto the planet's surface. Despite all of this, combined with the inhospitable terain , belligerent local natives, and aggressive xenos species - the order has nevertheless persevered in the face of adversi ties.The Adeptus Sororitas believe that Trials & tribulations a tests from the God Emperor, and the faithful will triumph them over.Like their namesake, these sororitas of this Order would suddenly appear in battle like an Angel from the dark, protecting the innocent while dispensing justice in the Emperor's name, and just as quickly disappearing before the ecouldle to launch an attack against them. Now as the Great Rift or Cicatrix Maledictum tears the galaxy in two with most of Segmentum Obscurus situated in the region: Imperium Nihilus, the Order of Night Angels have taken it upon themselves to strengthen their borders in the face of horrors coming out of the Great Rift.
The Order of the Omnissian Cog is the biggest of the three "Omnissian Orders" which are young, minor, militant orders which follow a hybrid faith of the Imperial Cult and the Cult Mechanicus. The Order resides within an ancient Ark Mechanicus-class ship, the Chromica's Pride. The three Orders each focus on one of the Holy Trinity, like the name suggests the Omnissian Cog focuses on the Omnissiah or more widely known as the God-Emperor, while her sister Orders focus on the Machine-God and the Motive Force. (Note: This Adepta Sororitas Order falls under the Alternate Universe category.)
The Order of Our Hunting Mistress is an Order Minoris of the Adepta Sororitas that was founded in M41. It was founded by Cardinal Ador VII to hunt down Hive Fleet remnants and facilitate civilian escapes. They are currently stationed on the Shrine World of Celestia, alongside their Patron Saint Miriya Scorn. They are trained for multiple years to hunt down any form of Tyranid organisms.
The Order of the Rising Phoenix is a minor order Hospitaller from the planet Astracan in the Kaeli system. The order was created by Canoness Kora Denitovitch who settled on Astracan and founded the convent 'Salvation'. Some of the members of the Order of the Rising Phoenix work in conjunction with The Chosen, a task force created by the Order of the Dawn, to destroy the Slaaneshi warband, Sisters of the Night. The Chosen is a task force comprised of sisters from Orders Militant, Pronatus and Hospitaller. Being very skilled in human biology and all things medical, most sisters hospitaller of the Order of the Rising Phoenix, are often found in field hospitals and clinics and they are not adverse to fighting alongside the Imperial Guard on the battlefield.
The Order of the Sacred Pinion is an Ordo Pronatus of the Adepta Sororitas founded on Ophelia VII for the express purpose of collecting one type of sacred relic: the feathers of Saints.
The Order of the Sanctified Blood is an Order Minoris Militant of the Adepta Sororitas which is specialized in different kinds of warfare. But, contrary to the Imperial Guard, they avoid endangering or even killing innocent civilians. The Order of the Sanctified Blood sisters is excellent fighters and tacticians. The battle-sisters protect the lives of innocent civilians, and they master all kinds of warfare for the import duty, which is their service for the Imperator. Another difference from the other Orders of the Adepta Sororitas is that the Order of the Sanctified Blood sisters deploys with auxiliary troops. According to the sisters, these troops are female and a few male soldiers who have a strong belief.
The Order of the Scarlet Rose are an Ordo Minoris of the Adepta Sororitas, the all-female division of military forces that serve the Imperium of Man's state church known as the as the Adeptus Ministorum. The order established a sanctuary on the hive wolrd of Zudaxis and upholds the faith of the world. Their doctrines and philosophies conflicted with their Imperial allies in the early years, breeding infighting in some cases. Over time, the order stabilized with a healthy blend of ideals and practices that reflected their mother orders. Small in number, the fledgling order boasts all the wargear and practices needed to wage war on the enemies of mankind. Least of all, a newly appointed Canoness piloting an Imperial Knight for the holy order.
The Order of the Silver Hand is an Ordo Minoris of the Adepta Sororitas created by the Cardinal Volkov of the Argent Shroud to protect the convent on the industrial world known as Vakaria, located near the border between Segmentum Tempestus and Ultima Segmentum, near the warp storm known as the Vortex of Despair. Due to the ever-present threat of Chaos invasion, the order was meant to be well armed and trained, while also unquestionably devout to the Emperor. The order was later forced to evacuate the planet due to overwhelming Chaos invasion and relocate to their new homeworld on planet Zoyra, which is part of the Europan Planetary Federation, a small and independent, yet still faithful stellar empire.
The Valkyries of Varneir are a Order Minoris of the Adepta Sororitas, dedicated to the service of the Knights of Russ Space Marine Chapter and the protection of Varneir in the Varneir System. Drawing their members from the best of the female Frostheim Imperial Guardsmen. Lead by Saints Freya and Astrid, the only survivers of the Axon III convent of the Order of The Bloody Rose after the Siege of Axon III. Often deploying along side the Knights of Russ and the 23rd Ranger Astra Militarum Regiment, the Valkyries of Varneir focus on aerial strikes on high value tagets, and aiding allied units.
The Order of the White Rose is a minor ordo militant of the Adepta Sororitas splintering off from the Order of the Bloody Rose. This Order is deceptive in appearance, as their religious fervor and delicate decorations make them look far friendlier than they actually are.
The Order of the Wounded Heart is an Ordo Minoris of the Adepta Sororitas. It is a daughter congregation of the Order of the Valorous Heart established on Dimmamar in 966.M37 under the protection of Cardinal Edmond Angelis and recognized by the Ecclesiarch Xystes IV and The Abbess Prioris Terezia Avile in 981.M37. Their emblem is a heart pierced by three swords symbolizing the Holy Virtues.
