The Life Bearers are a Loyalist Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes belonging to an unknown primarch, and were created during an unknown founding. The Life Bearers have no home world to call their own, preferring to be a fleet-based chapter, but are currently scouting the planet of Garreth. Specializing in boots on the ground combat, excelling at marksmanship preferring to utilize combi-weapons and bolters. The Life Bearers rely on Dreadnoughts and The Invictus Tactical War-suit in combat scenarios over the usual tanks of other Astartes chapters.
Chapter History[]
The Life Bearers are a part of an unknown founding but are suspected to have been the 4th founding after the War of The Beast. As they have been seen as early as 600.M32.
The Life Bearers have stated themselves to have supported the Pentarchy of Blood During The War of The False Primarch. Most records from the War of The False Primarch have been purged leaving only their word that they fought.
A large presence of Life Bearers fought in the Badab war surprisingly with marines on both sides. The successionist Life Bearers, Supporting the Lamenters, were tricked alongside them, leading to an internal civil war within the Life Bearers. The Badab War showed a more violent side of the Life Bearers along with them sustaining heavy casualties.
Currently The Life Bearers are surveying a plant known as "Gairrath", a planet that resembles real world earth during the Devonian period, as a suitable candidate for their home world. This Planet is a paradise world as they consider building a fortress monetary in orbit around the planet to preserve its haunting beauty.
Notable Wars, Battles, and Campaigns[]
The Great Exorcism (Unknown Date .Late M36)[]
During a battle against the daemons of Nurgle, The Life Bearers had received reinforcements from The Exorcists, during which a few Life Bearers would begin falling to chaos, The Exorcists aid was able to help combat the corruption causing those corrupted to be redeemed. Many of the Life Bearers that received help to combat chaos possession in this battle have become Chaplin's. this interaction between the Exorcists and Life Bearers is why the Life Bearers hope for redemption of those succumbed to chaos. The study of chaos Marine bodies began shortly after this event.
The War on Traitors (646-650.M36)[]
Around a thousand years after the discovery of the T'au the Life Bearers were tasked with protecting an Imperial noble after they had heard of humans joining the T'au. The Life Bearers had sent a small squad of 5 marines to work diplomatically with a noble to reconvert these humans back to the imperium. Upon arrival these marines were immediately met with hostility which mortally wounded the noble they were assigned to protect. Without a way to diplomatically speak to any humans The Life Bearers would fire back. This Incident is known as "The Ashamed Culling" In which hundreds of Humans were slaughtered alongside the T'au. Only One Marine made it back by the name of 'Lukos Maximin". The Incident caused The Life Bearers to make the decision to go to war killing all T'au that stood in their way and making sure to keep human casualties to a minimum in hopes for re-conversion. Their original orders did not go to plan as many human casualties were documented on the battlefield. After the first siege the Life Bearers under command of Captain "Drako Markimus" made the drastic and rare decision to mercilessly kill all humans as well after the realization that diplomacy was not an option. This War is deeply embedded in the History of the Life Bearers as a reminder of their Culling. This War is one of their most documented battles.
The Battle of the Malevolent (740.M40)[]
A small skirmish between the Life Bearers and the Marines Malevolent after the Life Bearers witness unnecessary killing of civilians by this notoriously brutal Chapter. Later led into 'The War Of The Malevolent'. Documented losses unknown.
The Invasion of [REDACTED] (741.M40)[]
A large scale Tyranid invasion that ended up wiping out and entire planet even with the help of 3 different Space Marine chapters. Also marked as the beginning of 'The War on Malevolence'.
The War on Malevolence. (741-742.M40)[]
A year after 'The Battle of the Malevolence', multiple units of Life Bearers would be sent to a planet to back up a squad of Ultra marines during a large scale Tyranid invasion which would later be known as 'The Invasion of (Redacted)'. After sustaining heavy casualties, the Marine Malevolent were also deployed in which the Life Bearers would Witness yet another brutal display from the Marines Malevolent. The Recklessness of the Marines Malevolent costed the Life Bearers their mission and the planet as a whole. This led to Lieutenant Cameros of the Life Bearers to demand a trial against the Marine Malevolent for heresy only for it to fall through. Filled with anger Lieutenant Cameros would get into multiple skirmishes with the Marines Malevolence before Waging a civil war on the Marine Malevolent. The war lasted roughly two years spanning multiple planets. During this time there were many instances of the Life Bearers losing their patience. These instances documented the Life Bearers engaging in combat with ruthless unending force where they didn't stop until everyone in their path was dead. During that time many speculated that the chapter was decedents of the Blood Angels lineage, although such speculation was proven false. This blood lust has not been documented since. This War demised the numbers of the Life Bearers before a successful victory on the Life Bearers end when the number of the Marines Malevolent was no longer known. After whipping out a good bit of the Marines Malevolent, the Life Bearers created an order that their successor chapter (former name lost) To change their name to the "World Guard" Would now be exclusively based around defense. This decision Helped end the war, as the World Guard was able to utilize defensive warfare against the Marines Malevolent, while the Life Bearers could focus on offensive warfare against the Marines Malevolent.
The War on Chimeras (582.M41)[]
A planet infested by genestealers had sent out a distress beacon. The frequency was picked up by the Life Bearers and they were sent to investigate. Landing on the Planet near the hive city a flood of gene stealers swarmed the drop pods this infestation proved too far gone to stop and evacuation efforts were set in place to extract remaining civilians. a short time after evacuations were completed the executive order to use Infernus Marines on the planet and a Culling was performed. The order to eradicate all remaining genestealers was chosen causing a mass purging on the planet, under this order many squads to be temperarily armed with Flamers for the eradication of the genestealers. These efforts ended in victory as the planet had been successfully purged of genestealers. Rebuilding of the hive city and its defenses started shortly after.
Badab War (901 - 913.M41)[]
The Life Bearers had a large presence in the Badab war, surprisingly on both sides causing an internal civil war. A good portion of the Life Bearers had join the Secessionists due to their ties with the Lamenters some supported them believing the Lamenters would not betray them, Realizing the Lameneters had been tricked the Secessionist Life Bearers had begun negations with the Attacking Life Bearers leading to less Casualties in battles were both sides of Life bearers are present. The Life Bearers on both sides played a supporting role in the Badab War in the beginning years of the war With Apothecaries, Techmarines, and Chaplins being the main fighting forces (The Secessionists joining in 904.M41 and Loyalists in 905.M41). By 906.M41 Where the loyalist side began deploying more Battleline and Infantry Forces, while the Secessionists were only able to field Tactical marines. By 907.M41 The Loyalist began deploying Tactical Warsuits and Dreadnoughts.
In 908.M41, Successionist Life Bearers that were supporting the Lamenters had been attacked by the Minotaurs while on the fleet ships of the Lameneters, All known Successionist Life Bearers where believed to have been killed in this incident, reports of a unbridled rage similar to the War on Malevolence was spotted as the Minotaurs killed the wounded Lamenters, The Life Bearers slaughtered a high number of Minotaurs defending the wounded Lamenters, This rage ultimately lead to their mass executions.
By 909.M41 The Loyalist Life Bearers began withdrawing their Warsuits and Dreadnoughts. Going back to just using their main Battleline and Infantry Squads to continue supporting support the Other Loyalist chapters.
During the Red Hour the Life Bearers joined The Salamanders in their relentless slaughter of the Astral Claws, A similar rage being displayed akin to the Secessionist Life Bearers during the slaughtering of the Lamenters, Reports state the Life Bearers were screaming things akin too "You will pay for slaughtering our brothers in blood!" and, "All the blood of their deaths are on your hands!" reports state that the Life Bearers blame all the deaths of the Lameneters deaths on the Astral Claws for tricking them. By The Fall of The Palace of Thorns, The Life Bearers were Eager to finish of the Astral Claws for their crimes against not just the Imperium, but their own battle brothers within their chapter, and their brothers in the Lamenters. Violent Rage and bodies followed in the path of the Life Bearers. Knowing the Astral Claws would not surrender the Life Bearers showed no mercy, They fought until the Badab War was over.
War Of Absolution (929-932 M.41)[]
Just under 40 years after Konraz Laman became Chapter Master, Multiple large chaos fleets were spotted invading the Kepway Star System. Under command of Chapter Master Konraz Laman, the Life Bearers were sent there. The 1st company being supported by the 8th and 9th companies which were expecting little resistance, were sent to aid the Ultramarines already stationed in the Kepway Star System. Eventually replacing the 8th and 9th company with 2nd and 3rd after realizing the situation was dire. The Fleet Originally comprising of exclusively World Eaters, quickly was supported by The Black Legion and Alpha Legion. Originally just The Ultramarines and Life Bearers were fending off the Chaos Marines, but quickly the situation became worse after roughly only 18 hours, in dire need of reinforcements, a call was sent out that was received by both The Blood Angels and The Space wolves that was also intercepted by the Sons of Malice, Although the Sons of Malice proved a powerful force against Imperial Forces, They also proved problematic for the other Chaos legions, slightly evening the odds allowing for the Life Barriers to acquire reinforcements from their 4th and 5th companies.
Although being reinforced by the Space Wolves and Blood Angels tensions continued to rise within the first half 929.M41 as casualty rates had a rapid incline on both sides. Even with the Sons of Malice also fighting against the other legions there was still a larger number of Chaos marines attacking Loyalist Marines. By 930.M41 intervention by the Dark Angels began as planets began to fall and crumble and be mark with a mortality rate of absolute for space marines. This intervention slowly began turning the tides of the war. 5 Loyalist Chapters proved just enough to finally start pushing back the never-ending waves of Chaos marines. Although pushing them back the process was slow and tedious process, any progress was better than no progress. By late 931.M41 not even 40% of the Chaos legions were pushed back. Even with the help of the Dark Angels progress was slow and tedious. Come 932.M41 progress was still less than 40%.
Around Mid 932.M41 a crusade fleet of Black Templars had reached the outer edge of the Kepway system. They began supporting the defense of the system by offensively charging into battles against the chaos legions, by the beginning of 933.M41 the galaxy has pushed back just above roughly 90% of the chaos marines invading, labeling the defense as a success and an overall win, a good portion of Life Bearers still patrol this system picking off stragglers of Black Legionaries.
The Life Bearers along with the Ultramarines had received the highest mortality rates out of any of the Loyalist Astarte's chapters that participated in this battle.
The Healing Crusade (Unknown Date)[]
The Healing Crusade was a failed Crusade that was meant to bring the Life Bearers back to full strength. This crusade was originally dubbed "The Suicidal Crusade" after the Life Bearers had reached around 100 to 200, they went on one last big crusade in hopes of regaining members but believing they would fail, instead their numbers skyrocketed in the beginning of the crusade it was renamed to "The Healing Crusade". While for a short period The Life Bearers reached 1000 Marines strong, a demonic invasion near the end of the crusade caused the Life Bearers numbers to dwindled back down to between 900 and 800. these records have been since classified and redacted due to the large-scale daemonic invasion.

Chapter Beliefs[]
The Life Bearers believe in the idea of humanity, civilization, and individualism.
Life Bearers encourage companionship between each other, focusing on strengthening their connections with one another. Similar to how the Salamanders return to nocturn to visit with family and work on trades and skills, Life Bearers are allowed to visit other Chapter recruiting worlds and experience their culture and ways of life, some even permanently taking up a life on these planets visiting them often in their spare time. This also ties in with their belief of individualism. Life Bearers are encouraged to have their own life outside of being a Space Marine. Many take up hobbies and activities outside of their duties as Astartes. The Life Bearers don't have a certain hair code, many stylize their hair, growing beards, letting their hair grow out, expressing themselves through their hair. They are allowed to be their own individual.
The Life Bearers also have a deep respect for the corpses of humans, mourning and honoring those who have fallen. Life Bearers shun and look down upon those who enact cannibalism. This has led to many problems with chapters like the Mortifactors.
Along with their beliefs in color Life Bearers have a long-lived tradition of wearing Mark VI "Corvus" pattern ("Beaky") helmets. The origin of this tradition is unknown, but during the Badab War they had stockpiled Corvus helmets from fallen space marines that they had cleaned and repainted. Many believe the Life Bearers wear beaky helmet as symbol for birds, life, and the Aquila. The Life Bearers have different Corvus helms based on their unit and Armour composition.
Life Bearers believe all life is valid in some shape or form. They feel pity and sorrow for those infected by gene stealers, enacting swift and merciful deaths to those who have become infected. They also hold out hope for those who fall to chaos. Their Study of Chaos has led to renegade and traitor allegations only for them to end up false. Their study of chaos has been fruitless. They still hold out hope though. This hope for redemption has come from their time working with the exorcists.
Their perception of Xenos is akin to animals. They see them as animals to the upmost extent, They Study them, specifically dissecting them. They have learned as much as they can from dissecting them, now their dissections are used for information on cooking. Before dissecting Xenos the Life Bearers cooked and ate xenos, they believe it is the upmost disrespect to a Xeno by turning them to waste within their gut. Many of the Xenos the Life Bearers eat come from them hunting Xenos for sport. Trophies are expected in this chapter. The Life Bearers prefer "pray" that fights back while hunting. Their favorite meals usually include some variation of Aeldari meat.
Combat Doctrine[]
The Life Bearers are expert marksman, choosing to use bolter and combi-weapons for their squads and unit formations than other weapons usually associated with their usual unit composition. All Life Bearers are trained to be marksmen to be able to be prioritized as Intercessors for Frontline engagement when needed. Squads that usually appear with different weaponry from the base bolter, (Eradicators, Hellblasters, and Infernus squads) utilize Combi-Bolters instead of their unit's base kit. Eradicators using Melta-Bolter Combi-Weapons, Hellblaster Sqauds utilizing Plasma-Bolter Combi-Weapons, and Infernus Squads utilizing Flamer-Bolter Combi-Weapons.
The Life Bearers excel at hand-to-hand combat utilizing the Power Fist type of weapons over other melee weapons. All Melee units and within the Life Bearers chapter are equipped with Power fists replacing their main melee weapon, Sergeants That are usually equipped with alternate melee weapons from the rest of their squad are always utilizing and equipped with power fists or lighting Claws.
Unlike other Spacemarine chapters and armies of the imperium, the Life Bearers equip their scouts with Bolt Shotguns instead of the typical astarted shotgun. The LifeBearers use reverse engineered Bolt Shotguns simular too the ones seen in the leagues of votann, these Bolt Shotguns are worked on by special Tech Priests aboard the battle barge "Sanctuary". To convert them to be more onboard with other weapons of the imperium. The Life Bearers keep the fact they use Bolt Shotguns very secretive to avoid allegations of heresy, as they have taken a liking to this weapon in recent years.
The Life Bearers don't utilize Vehicular and aerial combat compared to other chapters, they prefer boots on the ground combat, instead of utilizing Tanks and Airships the Life Bearers utilize War suits in dreadnaughts in place of vehicles. All of the vehicles within the reserve companies are Tactical Warsuits even with some vehicles replaced by Dreadnaughts.
Gene-Seed[]
Genetic Flaws[]
The Omophagea gene-seed of The Life Bearers does not extract genetic memories correctly, instead taking the emotions and survival information without experiencing the memories of the creature. This is theorized to be the reason why the Life Bearers consume Xenos in mass.
The Life Bearers have experienced what is believe uncontrollable fits of rage in high stress situations against Marines Malevolent and many other chapters that throw human life to the side. This was theorized to be instances of the Red Thirst and Black Rage. This is still unconfirmed.
Deathwatch Service[]
The Life Bearers have a large presence in the Deathwatch even being some of the first members to join as far back as 600.M32. The Life Bearers use the Deathwatch a way to hone their main hunting parties' skills against Xenos, all veteran Life Bearers are tasked with joining the Death Watch before joining the first company as a way to prove their ability to hunt and kill Xenos, Almost All veteran Life Bearers wear their Deathwatch pauldrons in place of their veteran markings. Life Bearers use their time in the Deathwatch to hone their Tracking and Hunting skills against Xenos specifically in their assault squads which are renowned within the chapter for their hunting abilities even outside of the Deathwatch, Most Life Bearers within the Deathwatch are currently Primaris Marines, specifically Assault intercessor that are being trained to be better equipped for their own chapter and ability to hunt on the same level as their Firstborn counterparts. Many of these Marines being trained under Firstborn Life Bearers that still reside in the Deathwatch as ways to better indoctrinate the newer marines into their own chapter, and better their hunting skills.

Chapter Master Konraz Laman In Gavis Armour
"It is a risky process, But I have to do it for my brothers, and their brothers in the other chapters." - Konraz Laman "Crossing the Rubicon" into a primaris marine.
Konraz was originally a firstborn marine notable for battling in "The War on Malevolence." when only 20 years old, after the end of the war Konraz was given the title of veteran and became the Sargent of his own squad. Living through many major events Konraz became extremely experienced and was spoken of with the highest of regards, Just 10 Terra years before the Badab War was crowned as chapter master in 891.M40 after the original chapter master disappeared in the warp being presumed dead. Many of the tactics used by the Life Bearers during the Badab War were implemented by Konraz cementing himself as an exceptional chapter master. After the Badab War. Konraz became good friends with Malakim Phoros (Chapter Master of the Lamenters) and Gabriel Seth (Chapter Master of the Flesh Tearers) creating an alliance known as "The Alliance of Brotherly Blood" Standing beside Gabriel Seth against renegade allegations. Many Of Konraz's actions have been in the interest of not only his chapter but also other chapters he has fought alongside. Between 999.M41 and 111.M42 Konraz would undergo the same procedure Calgary would and transition over to a Primaris Marine for the betterment of his chapter. During the procedure it is rumored he woke up almost dying but meraculously managed to pull through. Konraz is still the Chapter Master in the current millennium.
Chapter Fleet[]
Hope of Aden (Battle Barge) - Main ship of the Life Bearers belonging to an unknown classification. This ship acts as their Flag ship and Fortress Monastery. This Ship is fairly new compared to their old Flag Ship "Sanctuary". This Ship in recent years has usually floated in space near "Gairrath" as the Life Bearers are looking to build a new monastery Orbiting around it.
Sanctuary (Battle Barge) - Sanctuary is the 2nd biggest ship in the Life Bearers fleet. This Battle Barge is Heavily armored and weaponized as the perfect defense ship for the serfs inside. A high number of Chapter serfs reside on the ship treating it as if it was their home. These surfs are treated extremely well and keep the ship up and running to maximum capacity. Many Life Bearers do not reside on this Battle Barge as it's a gift to the refugees of destroyed planets who have taken up refugee there.
Several ships of unknown classification.
Chapter Relics[]
Sister Sky's Helm - The Helm of Sister Sky. Del'Ron claimed it as a relic for the chapter to represent "The companionship of The Life Bearers and Adeptus Sorotias." as the Life Bearers and sisters of battle are close allies. Many Life Bearers Believe Del'Ron claimed it for different reasons.

Chapter Appearance[]
Chapter Colours[]

Relations[]
Allies[]
Lamenters - Their Relationship with the Lamenters is one of genuine care. The Life Bearers do not care for the stigma around the Lamenters, rather then ostracizing them, The Life Bearers work closely with them to disprove their bad luck on the battlefield. Many of the battles that the Life Bearers have fought with the Lamenters have been successful. During the Badab war, their alliances with the Lamenters and Salamanders conflicted. Many Life Bearers split to join the Salamanders while other joined the Lamenters. This Split helped lower casualties on the battlefield, causing any group that had Life Bearers on either side to work things. The Lamenters Ended up Becoming The third chapter apart of "The Alliance of Brotherly Blood"
Salamanders - While the Life Bearers have a good relationship with the Salamanders and some even look up to them, they are no one to one.
Exorcists - During "The Great Exorcism" the Life Bearers grew a strong relationship with the Exorcists. Their Relationship is strong as many times the Life Bearers have gone to them for support during daemonic invasions and even have had them remove daemonic possessions from Life Bearers.
Flesh Tearers - During an unknown time Chapter Master Konraz had met with Gabriel Seth, what happened during their meeting is unknown. After, A pact was created between the Life Bearers and the Flesh Tearers known as "The Alliance of Brotherly Blood". This alliance was made by Konraz to show is upmost support of the Flesh Tearers against renegade allegations and support of those who fell to the Red Thirst. The Life Bearers are against prosecution of The Blood Angels and their successors because their curse is not reversible and is out of their control. Their alliance with the Flesh Tearers is simply the most notable one.
Enemies[]
Genestealers - The Life Bearers have a deep hatred for genestealers due to their nature messing with and destroying human dna. Genestealers are one of the only enemies that the Life Beaers will use Infernus squads against.
Marine Malevolent - The Life Bearers have no tolerance for the Marine Malevolent. If a Marines Malevolent does anything the Life Bearers consider even slightly out of line A Skirmish is more likely then not to break out. These fights usually lead to the Marine Malevolent failing their objective. The Marine Malevolent are One of the few enemies of the Life Bearers that fall under their "No Protection" List compared to other space marine chapters. Their regard for life goes out the door for the Life Bearers when dealing with the Marines Malevolent and usually end up displaying merciless acts of violence towards them.
Night Lords - The Life Bearers view the acts of terror done by the Night Lords to be worse the those of the World Eaters. Most Night Lords do not worship chaos like other Traitor legions and in that notion the acts of terror they inflict are of their own will leaves a bad taste in the Life Bearers mouth. Although not Liked, the Life Bearers knowing the history of the Night Lords, surprisingly have more compassion for them then they do towards the Marines Malevolent.
Notable Quotes/Conversations[]
By: Life Bearers[]
"For too long they have slaughtered the innocent. For too long they have avoided prosecution with lies and deceit. I WILL NOT HAVE IT ANY LONGER! Our skirmish before did nothing but make them happy to brawl. This time we will not satisfy them. We WILL harm them. WE WILL BE THEIR JUDGE FOR A TRAIL WHERE THEY WILL ONLY COME OUT GUILTY!" - Lieutenant Cameros speech before waging war on the Marines Malevolent.
"I am not afraid for death has not taken me yet. Even in the cold and pain I still feel something akin to being alive, and even if I am dead, In death I still serve to preserve the life of the innocence, and that is enough to make me feel alive" - Marko Primm's Statement on being a dreadnought.
