Born of the Blood Angels and the unyielding will of the Emperor, the Knights Sanguine stride forth as crimson paragons of faith and fury. Designated the Equites Sanguinis in High Gothic, they were forged in the crucible of the 23rd 'Sentinel' Founding, when the Imperium sought new bulwarks against the encroaching darkness of M38. Unlike many of their brethren, these sons of Baal hold a trinity of devotion: the Emperor as the eternal Father, Sanguinius as His divine incarnation, and the Sanguinor as the radiant herald of their combined will. To the Knights Sanguine, the Red Angel is not merely a primarch, but the Emperor made manifest. His sacrifice and majesty rendered in flesh and blood. Their chaplains preach that to fight beneath the Sanguinor's gaze is to fight in the Emperor’s own presence, and every battle becomes a holy crusade.
Their fortress-monastery rises from the icy mantle of Froskar, a frozen mining world whose molten veins shimmer with priceless alloys. There, amidst shrieking winds and black basalt cliffs, the Chapter tempers its warriors in cold and fire alike. Froskar’s volcanic depths yield tithe, metals of rare potency, a resource that binds the Knights Sanguine to the forges of Mars and the coffers of the Adeptus Administratum. Through careful negotiation and more than a few veiled threats, the Chapter has maintained a fighting strength of nearly fourteen hundred Astartes, a number that would draw censure were it not shielded by political necessity and the strategic value of the Red Scar’s mineral bounty. Scouts patrol the frozen wastes while Death Company brethren are given their last rites beneath the auroras, their final howls echoing like mourning bells across the ice fields.
When war calls, the Knights Sanguine descend in a storm of fire and wings. Thunderhawks scream across blizzards and void alike, disgorging armoured spearheads whose speed and fury rival the angels they venerate. Their doctrine is one of sudden annihilation: rapid armoured thrusts and aerial assaults that leave only blood slick ruin in their wake. To fight alongside the Knights is to witness a holy tempest; to stand against them is to face the Emperor’s wrath clothed in crimson. In every charge, in every thunderous strike of their blades, they seek not only victory but communion. Believing that each foe slain and each world defended draws them one step closer to their radiant, tragic father.

Chapter Homeworld[]
The chapter's homeworld of Froskar is an arctic world a few systems northeast of Valhalla. Due to it already barely being in the habitable zone because of how far away it is from the system's sun, it is largely frozen over, with the planetary oceans mostly hidden under thick sheets of ice, which are sparsely populated by nomadic tribes who use pack animals to pull sleds and gather food via ice fishing. The majority of the planetary population are spread into small cities that utilize the heat generated by the world's volcanically active peaks, which have the added benefit of exposing magma from the planet's mantle that is incredibly rich with metal alloys that the Adeptus Mechanicus covets - which would of course lead to a strong relationship between the planet and the Martians. This is then further compounded by the reality of life on Froskar where transit from one volcanic range to another for trade or communications is simply impossible without some form of vehicle - and that inclination toward machinery would be very much inherited by the chapter created to guard the world and its surrounding subsector.
As for the culture of Froskar, the denizens of the planet tend to have a largely communal and cooperative society due to the realities of survival in such a harsh environment and the nature of most of the population being clustered in small mining cities or manufactorum hubs. Before the chapter's arrival, the machine cult was the dominant religion on Froskar; that very much changed when the astartes arrived. Angels from beyond the stars arrived with tales of a pantheon of 3 deities: the holy God-Emperor, the Great Angel, and the Resplendent Herald. Although rites to and veneration of the machine continued, almost overnight this new church would come to quickly become the dominant faith, even spreading in certain areas to the Ice-Land (the local name for the great frozen oceans) tribes. In turn, much of the cooperative nature of the populous would rub off on the astartes who already believed that their single greatest mission was to protect the people of the Imperium. The astartes would come to have a somewhat friendly relationship with the mortal population, and seeing ministering to them spiritually and protecting them as a sacred duty for the chapter to uphold. This relationship would even grow to the point that the outermost areas of the fortress-monastery, the Domus Angelorum (low gothic "House of Angels"), would come to see use as a pilgrimage site that would have the added bonus of providing a steady flow of aspirants to the chapter; young boys who would journey to the temple to pray before the Great Angel and then pledge themselves to his sons.
