Chapter Combat Doctrine

The Chapter have a extreme offensive doctrine in combat. The brothers of the Chapter rely on their skills in close combat to defeat the enemies of the Emperor. In combat they only use melee weapons and gauntlet-mounted range weapons. Each brother also have a vambrace-mounted Storm Buckler. No other weapons are used by the Chapter than this.

In battle they make extensive use of teleportation, drop pods and orbital bombardments to outmanoeuvre and shock their enemies. They dont use any type of heavy support by land or air.

Chapter Fleet

The Chapter has a large and powerful flotilla of diffrent vessels.

Notable Vessels

  • Flamebreeder - This Battle Barge is the flagship of the Chapter.
  • Duskslayer - A Battle Barge that destroyed several Khornate vessels during a battle in orbit over the Chapter Homeworld.

Chapter Beliefs

The Ebon Tower

The Ebon Tower.

There are a strong Chapter Cult among the people on Decus that is called the Order of the Ebon Tower. The Ebon Tower is a huge tree temple that is used as a place for the people of the planet to worship the Chapter and to pay their respect to the fallen brothers. The ashes of the fallen brothers are spread around the Ebon Tower in the hope that one day they will be reborn, and their weapons are placed on alters.

The Ebon Tower are also used as a place of meditation for the brothers of the Chapter.

Chapter Gene-Seed

As successors of the Salamanders, the Chapter geen-seed are pure and strong. The brothers of the Chapter have tree bark texture-like skin and green-like eyes. They are also larger and more resilient than other Space Marines.

Primarch's Curse: Unyielding

With a culture that emphasises endurance and self-sacrifice, the Knight Paragons are renowned for their stubborn nature. The Knight Paragons are not swift to determine a course of action, and slower still to change their minds once they have decided. However, it is a fine line between determination and obstinacy, and Battle-Brothers must be watchful that their stubbornness does not grow into something unwieldy and perverse. When the Chapter's genetic curse manifests itself in an affected Battle-Brother, it comes on in three stages:

  • Stage 1 - Unrelenting: The Battle-Brother cannot easily change his mind once he has decided upon something. Having weighed the facts of the situation, he sees his current course of action as the best one possible, and cannot easily consider alternatives.
  • Stage 2 - Intransigent: The Battle-Brother is unwilling to compromise and is difficult to reason with. His stubborn nature prevents him from regarding any alternatives to his point of view. Unable to reconcile with the rest of his squad, the affected Battle-Brother often chooses only to rely on himself, thereby reducing his squad's overall cohesion.
  • Stage 3 - Obstinate: The Battle-Brother is slow to decide and is unlikely ever to change his views on any matter, and will die before relenting in any situation, no matter the cost to himself or others.

Recruitment

Duelists

Two warriors fight for a place as a Neophyte of the Knight Paragons.

The Chapter only recruit new brothers from its homeworld. This is done by a tournament where those who proven themselves worthy will be allowed to join the Chapter as a Neophyte. During these tournaments the recruits will fight each other will melee weapons of their own choosing. The new Neophytes will continue to use these weapons even when they become full Battle-Brothers of the Chapter and they will be with them until the day they fall in battle.
