The Imperial Assaulters are a recently-founded Successor Chapter of the Imperial Fists that was created during the recent Ultima Founding during the 42nd Millennium and is comprised entirely of Primaris Space Marines. Styled after the old Imperial Fists Legion that existed during the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy, the Imperial Assaulters, as they have been known as, have also inherited the old tenets of Dorn during their creation. Due to this, they are noted to have made a few minor organizational deviations from the Codex Astartes.
Hailing from the barren death world of Oppugnatio, it was once a great hive world until close to after the Siege of Zaebet where they fought. Upon returning home they found their home world destroyed by the Forces of Chaos.
Chapter History
Founded during the Ultima Founding the Imperial Assaulters served as attrition and planetary assault specialists. However, they laid low until their first deployment on the moon of Mcenia when they repelled local sentient alien species and cleared the moon for colonization as it was fit for human life.
After continuing to expand to the maximum size of 1,000 Space Marines they trained and trained until one day they set out on a campaign to the planet Zaebet in the same system. Upon their return, they were met with what has become known as the "Night of 1,000 Bombs," as the Forces of Chaos invaded their planet and captured it while away. They first took the transmitter so no message could be sent. The only ones that survived were a small group of the Planetary Defense Forces now known as the Oppugnatio Aculeatus which were the planet's local defenders. They realized that all was lost and requested permission to conduct Exerminatus. Resignated to the home world's fate, the Siege Master ordered a planetary bombardment of cyclonic torpedoes, destroying their home planet, scouring it of Chaos-taint.

Chapter Recruitment
An Aspirant must first land on the world of Mcenia and survive against 100 other aspirants in an all-out fight across the planet. Each Aspirant is given ten days of rations and is not allowed to forage for more. They do not necessarily have to out-survive the other as much as prove that they possess the tactical prowess to be an Imperial Assaulter. If they kill all the other Aspirants this is another way to ensure one is chosen to join the Chapter. Usually, only 2-3 Aspirants survive this brutal ordeal as it is not forbidden to kill others, but is looked down upon unless one kills all of their opponents. Upon completion of this trial, the Aspirant will become a Scout Marine.
One of the quirks of the Chapter is that they will randomly drop Scout Marines they judge as unfit. Usually, this happens when an Aspirant assumes they have nothing to fear to ascend further within the Chapter, just because they managed to pass the Aspirant challenge. They will be locked aboard one of the Chapter's flagship until the gene-seed organs they do have are harvestable, then they will be harvested.
Chapter Beliefs
After suffering so much in the early stages of thier existance they have become more numb to death that other chapters. Due to this they fight passionately. One of thier most important beliefs is that do die in battle is the greatest honor for the chapter.
Chapter Gene-Seed
As the Imperial Assaulters are a succesor chapter of the Imperial Fists they utilize the gene-seed of Rogal Dorn. However, due to the fact that they are Primaris they do not have the same gene-flaw as their progenitors and other, much older, Last Wall Chapters - a missing Betcher's Gland - which enables an Astartes to spit corrosive acid.
Genetic Flaws
The primaris flaw which is a 001% chance of genetic deviancy from the original baseline with the passage of each generation.
Combat Doctrine
The Imperial Assaulters are masters in siege warfare and building defenses most known for attrition warfare combined with planetary assault leaving the enemy not knowing whether to prepare for a quick and dangerous planetary assault or a long and drawn-out attrition war.
Deathwatch Service
To this date none have made it to Deathwatch.
