"I could never respect any man whose dreams are not their own, and your's are nothing but those of your masters."
— Whitehawk General Griffith, to inquisitor Angelica Soklova during the Loathsome Crusade

The Hawks Imperial are a Loyalist, non-Codex compliant Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes created from uncertain lineage. They are believed to have been created around the time of the ill-fated 21st 'Cursed' Founding , however some records date them as being much older. Their history is one of strife, and sorrow. They were created by a rogue group within the Mechanicus led by the mad Tech-Priest Redacted .

Like many Space Marines they tend to look down on the normal humans of the Imperium. However they an incredibly close relationship with the people of their homeworld Fantasia Secundus. Even going so far as to make use of non-altered humans in minor combat roles, such as vehicle operators, and base guards. These human troops known to the Battle Brothers of the chapter as Auxiliary Bandsmen. These Auxiliaries are often commanded by young Astartes as a for of training.

Chapter History[]

Early History & the Centurion War[]

The history of this chapter technically starts before the chapter ever existed. On the planet of Fantasia Secundus a feudal world on the eastern fringes of Imperial space. The planet had been ruled since before the Great Crusade by two noble houses in what was referred to as the Diarchy. These were House Midland, and House Tudor. After millennia of peaceful coexistence war came to Fantasia. Troops under the command of Archetor Gennon a minor noble loyal to the House of Tudor. Attacked and seized the Midland fortress of Doldrey. This attack had been sanctioned in secret by the Tudor family, and would mark the beginning of a 100 year conflict.

This war created the perfect environment for a large number of locals from noble fiefdoms not pledged to either side to sign on with one side or the other as Mercenaries. From amongst that sea of mercenaries, and privateers rose one man of unique character. An orphaned boy named Griffith, who would rise to command a Mercenary Company largely consisting of young men, and woman. Children really who had been orphaned during the war. Despite their low average age this band of child soldiers would become incredibly well know on Fantasia Secundus.

They would serve Lord Archetor Gennon in the defence of Doldrey for three months before leaving suddenly, it is rumoured that Lord Gennon in some way offended Griffith. Griffith and his mercenary band would then pledge themselves to the house of Midland.

Over the next 5 years they would manage to not only retake all lands occupied by Tudor, but push deep into Tudor's home territory.
