The Gore Wolves are a loyalist Space Marine Chapter and one of the few Successor Chapters of the Space Wolves. Much like there genetic forebears they are a stubborn chapter but unlike their father chapter they have often gone too far in their defense of the Imperium. Often whipping out enemy forces to a man even if they have tried to surrender.

The Gore Wolves have on many occasion showed up on scene and witnessed the results of the enemies actions and felt the need to go full on bezerk on anyone standing in their way. They have even been censured for attacking fellow loyalist Chapters on more than one occasion because of faulty combat intel or just miscommunications by allied chapters engaging the same target. Because of this the Gore Wolves are usually only deployed to areas where they can operate independently. Many have compared their ferocity and bellicose nature to that of the Flesh Tearers. An unfortunate characterization but possibly somewhat accurate.

Usually clad in soot black colored armor with grey shoulder armor and helmet and often sporting a red streak straight down there face plate to represent there bloodlust for destroying the enemies of Mankind. The chapter has personally exterminated three royal families and there entire defense forces in separate campaigns over the centuries for betraying the Imperium and allying with various xenos factions. In xenos actions they have destroyed an entire corsair fleet and even have invaded one exodite world over the years leaving the local Aeldari population in ruins. The Gore Wolves have also fought four campaigns against Ork forces and have even invaded a Necron tomb world which ended in a stalemate as both sides where so badly compromised they had to disengage. Before the Gore Wolves could finish resupplying they were called away to a more urgent battlezone.

Chapter History[]

The Gore Wolves are one of the rare successor chapters of the Space Wolves. As a Ultima Founding chapter they where created with Primaris space marines. Even though they have been around for a short time they have already engaged in numerous campaigns and one off battles with various traitors and xenos forces.

Early in there existence the Gore Wolves where dispatched to deal with uprisings and the occasions Planetary governor trading with xenos. One such occasion brought them inot conflict wiht the royal family of Davios 5. They had been secretely trading with the Tau for nearly a century for various goods and tech. This made the Gore Wolves mission that much harder as upon planet fall thee where barraged by local forces utilizing Ion Cannon batteries at distance. Though many squads destroyed in this fashion the main force was able to push thru with help from terminators and strategically placed assualt marines via jump packs. By the time the Gore Wolves breached the palace many of the local defense forces attempted to surrender to no avail as the intial strikes and losses they incurred in there advance had drove the marines into a vicious frenzy. Every single human and a small entourage of visiting Tau delegats was slaughtered to a man in less than a hour. This was the start of the reputation the Gore Wolves would garner over the next few centuries as brutal and unforgiving.

Chapter Homeworld[]

Brilius Minor is a large moon orbting the gas giant of Brilius. The Gore Wolves home system is not far from Fenrus and they often make pilgrimages there to commune with there creators. Brilius Minor itself is much like Fenrus and Valhalla in that is is primarly a cold weather world with few lakes that are not covered in ice year round. The local fauna is not nearly as hostile as others though they often battle large snow Tusks and moose like animal for initiations. These tank sized beasts are extremely aggressive when corned and have killed hundreds of locals and Gore Wolf initiates over the years.

The Grey Furs[]

The Gore Wolves are unique in that even though they are a Ultima Founding Chapter, hence predominantly made up of Primaris Marines they actually do have veteran units that could be considered "first born". There is a rare occurance on Bilius Minor, often many of the older, grizzled members of the local populace have shown themselves more than capable in the realm of combat and much more durable than your average Imperial Citizen. There is no local PDF and some wish deeply to help the Chapter in its duties. The Gore Wolves allow some of these older warriors to volunteer for the procedures that create a space marine. Very few survive, but the ones that do are altered to a level close to first born status and are then inducted into squads of there fellow "Grey Furs" as there known to serve as rezerve marine squads. Even if they survive battle most will only survive in this form due to there age for a decade but this does not deter there desire to fight for there homeworld and the Chapter as a whole. These brave, hardy souls are revered among the chapter for what they where willing to sacrifice and suffer for to reach this postion. Often lead by Wolf Priests they show no fear in battle as there long lives have prepared them for what they will encounter.
