The Pilgrims of Sanctus Penitents are a very small and unique non-Codex compliant Chapter composing of Space Marines from several different Chapters. The Chapter are on a eternal crusade, following the rare Pilgrim-Pattern, traveling to all known Shrine Worlds in the galaxy. Spreading the Imperial Cult throughout the territory of the Imperium. And smite all heretics and traitors along the routs, in the name and with the fury of the Emperor. Thousands of sinners and heretics together with hundreds of fanatic preachers, devoted missionaries and redemptionists follows the Chapter on its crusade through the void.

Chapter History[]

The Chapter was first created by the High Lords of Terra as a Blood Angels Successor Chapter, named the Sentinels Sanguine, during the 23rd 'Sentinel' Founding in M37. They were created as a standing force to protect several Armoury Worlds in the Xeplion System. During a battle on the Armoury World of Zerland, believed to be a small heretical uprising, several ancient war-machines was destroyed. But this was just a false attack. Several more attacks came across the whole planet and reinforcements from 245th and 832nd Maccabian Janissaries was called in. But before they arrived, the Chapter decided that Zerland was lost and retreated from the planet and ordered an Exterminatus, utilising Cyclonic Torpedoes. Utterly destroying everything on the Armoury World, and resulting in the loss of vehicles, weapons, and other equipment that are so old that the secrets of their manufacture have been lost by the Adeptus Mechanicus.

The Chapter was close to be declared as Excommunicate Traitoris. To redeem themselves they agreed to began an eternal pilgrimage. The Chapter threw away their old name and took a new - 'The Pilgrims of Sanctus Penitents'. They swore to never recruit any new Neophytes and only invite those battle-brothers that need to redeem themselves in the eyes of the God-Emperor. Since then they have been on their crusade for millennia to protect sacred places throughout the galaxy and to make sure that the population don't give in to the influence of herasy.
