"There is no truth but the Emperors. We are the carriers of the Truth."
—Void Paladins Adage

The Void Paladins are a formerly Loyalist Ultramarines Successor Chapter created during the 4th Founding that follows the tenants of the Emperor's Imperial Truth, and because of this were declared Renegades and exiled from the Imperium of Man in 721.M36. They were mostly a fleet-based crusading Chapter with several planetary fortress outposts for recruiting and resupply, though now they and their Chapter Serfs are an integral part of the government and military forces of the isolationist Pueblo Confederation deep in the Eastern Fringe.

Chapter History[]

Founded in the middle centuries of M32 during the 4th Founding in the wake of the near-disastrous events of the War of the Beast with the likes of the Angels of the Blade, Hussars Sanguine, Iron Myrmidons, Palatine Vindicators, and Praetorians of Blood, who would all become close allies following the brutal Idolater Crusades shortly after they were founded. Following their inception, this Chapter crusaded with honour across the galaxy against all manner of Chaos and xenos enemies. Their most common enemy were Chaos Space Marines and pirates that plagued the galaxy in the early to mid M30's. This rogue Chapter has been relatively quiet and kept to their own in Imperial records, but there are some reports of them being active fighting against Heretic Astartes outside the Eye of Terror including on & around Cadia during its fall, and besides a few assaults on Inquisition armoury worlds there has been at least one report of them killing Imperial forces on Genao but this event is under Inquisitional investigation for heresy on the part of the victims.

Revelations on Putamn[]

After several millennia of crusading for the Imperium, in the early 700s M36 the bulk of the Chapter found itself in a war of attrition against Aeldari forces belonging to Craftworld Athirlyn on the backwater world of Putamn. Their Chapter Master of the time, Abba Milaro, was subsequently injured during the fighting and was seemingly taken by enemy forces. In fact he had been saved by them, and when he had mostly recovered their Farseer commander showed him a psychic vision that flashed to hundreds of moments, dating all the way back to before the Horus Heresy and even the Great Crusade. Abba saw events such as when the Word Bearers where humbled on the world of Khur and forced to kneel by the Emperor for worshiping him, and another moment when the Master of Mankind was speaking to the last Terran holy man, Uriah Olathaire, about His vision of the Imperial Truth, as well as many other moments forgotten or suppressed over time. When he finally came back to reality, the Aeldari brokered a ceasefire with the Chapter Master and the other Aeldari forces and departed from the world. Once the planet was safe and the Chapter Master had returned to his own flagship, Abba called the entirety of his crusading forces across the galaxy to come to Iben as soon as they tactically could. When they all gathered at their Fortress-Monastery on Iben, he laid out the visions he had seen and endeavored to discover why, at least, had the Emperor's original vision of the Imperial Truth had been altered. Abba planned to travel to Terra after visiting Macragge for council.

Betrayal to Defection[]

This fateful decision caused the Inquisition and the Ecclesiarchy itself to send a large strike force and attempt to silence them before he could reach Macragge, but instead sparked a small war with the Void Paladins upon the surface of Iben as well as its orbit. This strike force included the normal forces expected like guard & naval assets as well as Adeptus Sororitas, but a few space marine chapters were involved including the Solar Falcons who enjoyed laying their rival low while the Angels of the Blade & Palatine Vindicators were both allies that saw what the Void paladins were doing as heresy and opted to confront their former ally personally. The local population of Ibeni was utterly devoted to the Astartes and thus fought hard to protect them from what they saw as traitorous forces of the Inquisition. Millions died in the large scale bombing campaign against the few large cities on the planet. Eventually the chapter was able to fend off the assault but lost over half their number, a third of their fleet, their fortress-monastery, and most of the native Iben population. After this, the remaining Paladins and Ibeni scavenged as many resources as they could carry and loaded onto the remaining vessels of Chapter's fleet as well as some captured Inquisition ships and departed for a world that had been located, but kept secret by Abba as a sanctuary world in case they spawned a successor chapter, Pueblo.

A New Home[]

After traversing the galaxy they came to the planet Pueblo, a desert world outside of Imperium control since this area of space is outside the Astronomicon and went untouched during the Great Crusade. Pueblo had been founded by various Rogue Traders and rich nobles from the sector fed up with Imperial oversight. Its moon was controlled by a reclusive former Mechanicus faction that held several small forge hives complete with a spaceport and small orbital shipyards. The Pueblans did not like the seemingly Imperial allied invaders at first, but after negotiations were conducted they agreed to an alliance. The Kiseran would not become the planets ruling warlord like most astartes homeworld's and the human nobles were allowed to retain some of their local power, though in practice the Kiseran eventually held the most sway. The planet is run by a council of the leaders of the many factions of the planet, but the overall leaders of that council are the Quatumvirate: the main leader among the Rogue traders, the main leader among the Nobles, the leader of the Mechanicus faction & now the Kiseran of the Void Paladins. Under them is a Senate comprised of members from each House, Rogue Trader, and every other political entity on or controlled by Pueblo. It was upon this desert world of Pueblo that perhaps the darkest part of the Chapter's history took place, which would come to be known as the the 'Night of The Splintering'.

Night of the Splintering[]

For a standard century the Chapter recovered its numbers and supplies to eventually go back to crusading in some way, in this time they brought their chapter strength to about 1,500, in excess of the Codex Astartes-mandated, maximum-allowable number of 1,000 Astartes. Three Centurii worth of Paladins from all over the Chapter, including Legatus Xzore of the 2nd Cohort and his entire veteran Centurii, had decided to declare themselves independent of the yoke of Imperial rule and willingly became a Chaos Warband. They infiltrated the planet's star port located in the capital hive in the dead of night and were able to steal several docked warships and some supply transports meant for the Laeraethus. Using the transports they managed to utilize the vessel's boarding pods and fired them into the ship at point-blank range into the open hangers, with no warning, and used the time to get as close to the gene-seed vault as possible. While this was happening, most of the Traitor warships attacked and then boarded a Pueblan naval patrol, securing all of their ships and then adding them to their growing flotilla. They also took hundreds of civilians to be utilized as slaves for later uses.

While many of the Chaos-splinter faction marines were killed in the brutal boarding action against the transport, the main force under Xzore's leadership were able to steal half of the saved gene-seed and make good their escape, utilizing several Thunderhawk transports they found docked within the flagship. Xzore personally killed Abba, shattering Abba's chest with a power maul after his traitorous veterans hacked at Abba from all sides in a vicious melee fight that cost Abba an arm and a leg fighting them off. After his death Xzore had an apothecary remove Abba's gene-seed so as to deprive the chapter of it as well, before smashing the body several more times until it popped like a grape to further hurt his former brothers. They were able to get picked up by Xzore's personal battle barge, Now named the False God, and headed into the warp at the cost of their traitorous brethren still fighting aboard the transports, who were fighting against a boarding action and thus were a perfect shield to keep from being shot at. Before leaving the highest point of planetary orbit, and scant seconds before the Laeraethus finally had a clear shot to open up with a broadside, the False God fired a full broadside not at the flagship bearing down on it but the planet itself before vanishing into a warp tear. The capital hive was shattered by the destructive effects of the bombardment, killing millions of humans in the crossfire of a chapter war for the second time. Overall about a Centurii worth of the chaos splinter faction survived the journey into the warp, mostly his cohorts veteran 1st Centurii, and with the stolen gene-stock and newly acquired naval fleet vessels they joined a Chaos Sorcerer named Akemos to create the Cabal of Destiny. Many heroes had risen up but the most surprising was the newest & youngest member of the Librarian, Lexicanium Vikres, who was part of the Phalanx guarding the Relic Vault and ended up being the soul survivor of the defenders. When they were pushed into the vault itself Vikres was psychically drawn to the Blade of Athirlyn, an Aeldari force sword that was gifted to Abba by Craftworld Athirlyn as a sign of good faith at the culmination of the Putamn Campaign, and used it along with his powers to hold of the remaining attackers. After this battle he is granted full ownership of the sacred sword, its size being perfect for an astartes to gracefully wield one handed while still having enough blade to cleave a Terminator in half with a single strike.

Picking Up The Pieces[]

By the time morning hit the capital the hive was engulfed in fire. The broadside had cut most of the hive spires in half and ignited thousands of fires across the city, these fires were fed by insulation and other burnable materials to the point that they spread into each other and became raging infernos. While the hive tried to save itself the Void Paladins were all gathered to the Laeraethus and were told of the news regarding Xzore's betrayal as well as the death of Abba. Everyone of the paladins made a vow to honor Abba's memory by spreading the Imperial Truth & helping the Pueblans rebuild, as well as wiping out the traitors who fled with Xzore. Abba's mutilated body was laid to rest within their planetary fortification on Pueblo called Ma'arra. For over 7 decades the chapter provided superhuman laborers as well as their skilled techmarines to rebuilding the shattered hive. When it was done the Pueblans renamed the capital to Abbaheim in honor of Abba.

A Chapter Forged Anew[]

While Pueblo was being repaired the chapter underwent some internal changes as well. Instead of the Cohorts being separate task forcesa they would each have a new function, like the Fourth Cohort being fulltime defense of Confederate space, as well as more integration with the Rorarii and higher security measures to insure that this would never happen again. It also started the long debate about permanently moving the Relics and Gene-seed to the planetary fortress which as of late M41 has been done, freeing the Laeraethus for large scale void warfare without risking Relic and Gene-seed vaults. Following the Expansion Crusade the chapter enjoyed an explosion in recruits from the growing Pueblo Confederation, eventually bringing them to their current size of around 5000 marines even with them fighting several costly wars in that time. Freebooterz and Drukhari are a constant threat to the chapter as is the forces of Chaos, though the heavily armed Confederate Militarum has kept the majority at bay. Only the war torn planet of Kurtan contains entrenched enemy forces on its surface and its surrounding system, a constant war has been fought for off and on for decades though the planetary Duke does not want much if any astartes due to their inherent destruction with their tactics and has depended on the Confederate Militarum and Rorarii to wipe out the enemy forces.

Era Indomitus[]

When the Great Rift manifested across the galaxy a strike force of Void Paladins found themselves defending Cadia up until the planet's destruction and later on the nearby fortress world of Troii as well. Back at their home worlds the Pueblo Confederation weathered several Chaos incursions as well, forcing the Void Paladins to slowly spread their forces out more and more which has only made battles more costly. Currently the largest chapter deployment is in the Ranian Sector as part of the Ranian Crusade to assist the Hussars Sanguine in protecting their own sector.

Chapter Homeworld & Recruitment[]

Pre Defection[]

Prior to leaving the Imperium, the Void Paladins recruited from the planet Iben, a civilized world of ice and forest that was virus bombed following the Defection of the Void Paladins. The Ibeni were a warlike culture with fortified castles built into the frozen ground. After their defection it became an Inquisition controlled armoury world until the Paladins finally returned for the Annihilation of Iben. As a Crusading Chapter they were mostly fleet-based and had a formidable naval fleet on par with some sector battlefleets prior to the Inquisition's assault cut it down by over a third. By M42 the fleet has more than recovered from this setback thanks to the industrial output of the Confederation and gifts by rogue Traders currying favor with the chapter.

The Laeraethus[]

Though its use as a Fortress-Monastery has been moved to the planetary fortress of Ma'arra on Pueblo as of late M41, this ancient Galleas of War has been with the Chapter since its founding and has served as its Flagship for long millennia.

Post Defection[]

After traversing the galaxy they came to the planet Pueblo, a desert world outside of Imperium control. They also maintain a few fortified outposts, called a Castrum, on several planets they have defended or recruited from. The main outpost of this nature is on Larani V, locally called Summerhaven, & is defended by a demi-Centurii while the rest have a phalanx or so. Besides recruitment they do this as a way to keep an eye on the system.

Pueblo1

Pict Capture of the Less Populated Side of Pueblo, Capital World of the Pueblo Confederation

  • Pueblo/Ma'arra- Pueblo is the capital world of the non-Imperial allied Pueblo Confederation and site of the chapter's new Fortress-Monastery, the Ibeni who followed them into defection settled here as well. The chapter fortress on the surface, Ma'arra, is carved into a massive 70km diameter & over 10km into the sky granite hard red rock plateau covered with a plethora of orbital defense batteries and even more close range point defense guns to defend from ground assault, shield generators completing its initial defensive abilities. The top of the plateau is covered with landing pads to accommodate untold transports at once. After the First Cabal Invasion of Pueblo a sheath of ultra dense crystallized stone mined from the Confederate world of Sagara was added to reinforce the walls, this material also being a powerful psychic dampener capable of shielding the Fortress-Monastery from warpcraft like scrying or direct assaults. This base is the main resupply point for their cohorts and every Paladin has a private room for when they are not deployed.
  • Larani V/Summerhaven- Feudal world where small selections of warrior children are given to the Void Paladins as part of their debt to the chapter. In return some paladins are stationed here to covertly guard it from the nearby threats and to keep to keep the feral ork tribes in check. The planet is a temperate planet similar to Terra during its feudal era before industry took hold. The first part of joining the chapter for most Laranian aspirants is to survive the desolate tundra forests bordering the polar regions to reach the hidden Casturm, small tribes of feral ork eek out a short life in these forests before being killed by a Paladin or aspirants that use brute force over stealth though many that are found by the Ork are killed. The Centurii uses an old walled estate built in the southern polar region called Summerhaven as their Castrum, its frozen walls are hidden far from the prying eyes of any that would seek it out. Summerhaven itself is full time manned by a demi Centurii from the fourth cohort and defensively manned by a rotation of Centurii from all fours cohorts who also assist with training, currently guarded by the 2nd Cohort's 5th Centurii.
  • Kurtan/Kelaha'Suwar- Castrum located deep in the mountain wilderness outside the capital hive. It is often attacked by the various raiders that assault the system which makes for quicker training.
  • Domhan/Castrum Urram- Fortified mansion hidden deep within the forests of Domhan, it is sometimes used as a retreat for senior officers &/or sensitive meetings.
  • Soeruta/Castrum Osvajalc- This foreboding citadel sits hidden away from the busy hives of the industrial world, as Soeruta has never fully taken to Confederate rule this Castrum is as much to keep the population placid as it is for recruitment.
  • Onkore/Voidspire- Castrum located in the middle of the capital hive, it is one of the busiest recruitment centers for the Chapter outside of Pueblo.

Notable Campaigns[]

Loyalist Actions[]

  • Idolater Crusades (550-648.M32): Massive crusades fought by the entire newly founded Chapter along with the Angels of the Blade, Iron Myrmidons, Praetorians of Blood, Palatine Vindicators, who were all also newly founded chapters, and the older Hussars Sanguine who commanded the loyalist forces against a dozen Chaos Space Marine Warbands in the Eastern Fringe lead by the Battleforged. Several of the loyalist chapters involved in this crusade would. Even with the Forces of Chaos using daemons and other warpcraft they were killed or pushed out of the sector after 98 years of fighting. The chapter lost over 85% of its number in this crusade & did not return to full strength for almost 1000 years. In this time of recovery the first Rorarii regiments are created to fill the gap left by the lack of astartes.
  • Onkar Crusade (960-966.M34): A weakened chapter along with its newly created Rorarii legions, and several other chapters, conduct a several years long crusade against Ork that had taken root near the jungle covered hive world of Maurya in the Onkar system. The Ork had taken over several outlying planets along with their fortified outposts before making a hard push to Maurya itself, slowed only by the tenacity of the Mauryan Guard and PDF forces. Though the crusade cost the paladins several hundred battle brothers and thousands of Rorarii they were able to clear the jungle temple complex used as the main ork stronghold while the other chapters held the hive defenses.
  • Reign of Blood Crusade (300's.M36): Though most of the Adeptus Astartes kept out of the affairs of Terra during this time the Void Paladins were pulled into it. One of their cohorts at the time, about 250 marines, was helping Imperial Guard regiments combating pirates within the system. But when fanatical locals loyal to Goge Vandire started rioting against the Guard regiments for not executing thousands of reformists but instead securing them inside a fort, as the general in charge was not a fan of fanaticism after fighting real heretics for solar decades. When these rioters started assaulting the base with stolen PDF weapons the Paladins used drop pods to put themselves between the fanatics and the Guard units. Immediately they were swarmed by the massive crowd and over a dozen paladins were quickly killed by sheer force of numbers and a few stolen heavy weapons before they were able to regroup and vengefully counterattack them which cut down hundreds of fanatics before they finally fell back, it has been noted by the Centurion who lead the drop pod assault that the rioters were as frenzied as chaos cultists. After this the Cohort, and eventually the entirety of the chapter, joined the reformists and helped free other nearby worlds of bloody fanatic control. This also marks the beginning of a rivalry between the Void Paladins & the Solar Falcons, who spent some time backing Goge Vandire until even they realized he was insane. But during their allegiance to him they came into brief conflict when the Falcons dispatched a Centurii along with several voidships to help patrol or fight heretics that fired upon a Paladin voidship which immediately fired back, both sides suffered damage and casualties but the arrival of the rest of the Paladin flotilla forced the Falcon patrol to flee.
  • Putamn Campaign (717-721.M36): War of attrition fought against Aeldari over control of Putamn, a small Agri world under Imperium control. It was during this war that the Kiseran of the time, Abba Milaro, was shown the Emperors true vision known as the Imperial Truth as opposed to the Imperial Creed. Though it ends in Imperial victory it is considered the last loyalist action conducted by the Void Paladins.

Renegade Actions[]

  • lben Purge (721.M36): Vicious assault conducted by Ecclesiarchy & Inquisition forces against the chapters homeworld in an effort to extinguish them before they started asking around about the Imperial Truth. This force consisted of a dozen trooper regiments, multiple Sororitas companies, a battleline Company of Solar Falcons, a demi company each from their former allies the Angels of the Blade and the Palatine Vindicators who both joined the strike force for different reasons, & several senior Inquisitors as the commanders transported by a large fleet of warships and armed transports. Most of this force is wiped out in the ensuing conflict but most of its inner core escapes as the desperate naval battle turns to the Paladin's favor when the Centurii-Primus of Abba the Great boarded and destroyed the Inquisition flagship along with killing the lead Inquisitor of the assaulting forces, as well as an Athirlyn flotilla arriving and flanking the Inquisition's fleet. Entrenched enemy positions were left alone during the defection so as to not provoke them & any prisoners were locked in a barracks with supplies and a vox. Afterwards the Inquisition uses virus bombs to kill any paladins & Ibeni that may have stayed behind, this also claims the lives of most of the surviving remnants of the disastrous first assault who had been assumed butchered in its aftermath.
  • Heilnar Ambush (742.M36): Ambush against the newly renegade Void Paladins by a force of their former allies the Palatine Vindicators which caused the death of most of the Paladins involved, though they reaped a heavy toll on their attackers before the Legatus of the Paladin forces was killed in a duel with the Vindicator's commander and future Lord-Commander of the chapter Francio Kodromus.
  • Larani Crusade (003-009.M37): Short crusade fought to liberate several human systems at the same time from Ork and tau forces already in combat with each other for the systems. during this time they liberated the Feudal world of Larani V and set up a recruiting program, from this program has come hundreds of Paladins including Sezrion and Saiot. Due to the importance of Larani V to the Chapter in regards to recruiting and the establishment of an outpost on the planet the chapter named the crusade after it.

Expansion Crusade (011-078.M37)[]

Crusade fought to expand the Pueblo Confederation into nearby star systems. Several wars were fought during this time against both the locals they conquered and the raiders that had preyed on most of them. The end of this crusade ushers in new star systems to the Confederation, as well as some of the most grueling warfare the Confederates has ever seen, including the use of planet scarring weapons like atomic and phosphex bombs as well as horrific biological & chemical weaponry.

  • The Hunt for Kaptin Wuzdraz (011-070.M37): A long game of cat & mouse is played out over most of the Expansion crusade against Kaptin Wuzdraz, Ork leader of a fleet of Freebooterz that had long plagued Pueblo and the surrounding systems. His flagship was the ork Dednot Red'Toba, a battleship sized vessel made from a salvaged battle barge and fitted with an extra thick layer of armour and far more guns than had been on it before while still keeping its bombardment cannon and dorsal lance turrets, it was a dreaded sight for the entirety of the hunt. He was able to keep a step ahead of his hunters until he was finally killed by a Paladin strikeforce at his surface hideout, he had been on his battleship but it was crippled and he escaped to the surface before its destruction. The survivors of his fleet fled the system to regroup and find new territory to pillage, ending up deep into Imperium space. After his death the forces dedicated to hunting him later pour into the Kingdom and are used to blockade Tann and invade Soeruta simultaneously even while the Ablaria & Lurnngrad warzones raged. This surprise assault added 2 more warzones for the already thinly stretched Kingdom military and is the turning point for the Kingdom's defense.
    • Invasion of the Neuvoga System & the Battle of Pala'Tute (074.M37): While still being pursued by Confederate forces Kaptin Wuzdraz notices that amount of Confederate forces tied up in the war with the Kingdom and fully invades the Confederate capital system in an attempt to sack Pueblo. Fortunately for the Confederates Athirlyn naval forces had been asked at the beginning of the Crusade to help guard the Nuevoga system while the majority of the fleet was engaged against the Kingdom. This culminates at the Battle of Pala'Tute where Aeldari warships & a Confederate defense flotilla go head to head with the bulk of Gorgtuz's Freebooterz and are able to split the pirates up and take out many of their Kroozers & Terror ships before Wuzdraz was forced to retreat back to his hideout. Aeldari scout ships follow him and with this information the assault that takes his life is launched.
  • Draugur Incident (048.M37): The Draugur system contained only a single habitable world surrounded by several barren worlds, unknown to the Confederates as well as the chapter all of these contained Tomb worlds belonging to the Yenkaura dynasty that slowly started to awaken due to a war between xenos pirates. Elsewhere on this planet a Confederate fort was being besieged by Tau forces when the pirate survivors came to them with the dire warnings. Eventually all of them banded together to push back the Necron waves enough to abandon the planet. After this the Void Paladins have declared the system forbidden.
  • Krumore Pacification (069-078.M37): Considered the most brutal war of the crusade, it saw the pacification of the Neo-Krumore Kingdom and the Krumore system it controlled. When Confederate explorers found this system in M37 they were surprised to find a semi functioning human world that had survived Old Night. It had fallen to ruin and then rebuilt repeatedly for much of its history. For thousands of years the Kingdom survived and at times even prospered but slowly it fell back toward ruin as xenos raiders assaulted the system looking for slaves and resources. This all changed when a Confederate vessel hailed a frontier outpost belonging to the Kingdom, at first it went fine but the Kingdom soon forbade the Confederates to ever enter the system again and punctuated this by imprisoning the chief diplomat of the explorers. Needless to say this caused a quick response and a large flotilla of Confederate warships and infantry transports went to the Kingdom lead by the full First & Third Cohorts of the Void Paladins lead by the Kiseran himself. This set off a 9 year war that saw the total ruination of the agri world of Lurnngrad, a dozen other hives across the Kingdom were destroyed, and billions of dead before the King relented to Confederate demands. This surrender comes after the Ramilies-class Starfortress protecting the capital planet falls to boarding actions and a massive ground invasion hammered the main hives for weeks. Several worlds were home to continent spanning trench lines and subjected to forbidden weapons like phosphex which was used by the Confederates in retaliation for the Kingdom's use of atomics.
    • The Battle for Hadies & the Battle of the Daedrica Moons (069.M37): When the Confederate fleet first arrived in the Krumore system they assaulted the naval base at Hadies and quickly overran it, seeing the loss of their primary naval base in the outer planets they heavily increased the defense of the Daedrica Moons as their next bulwark. This included the majority of their elite naval commandos armoured in void capable armour and the highest end weapons available in the Kingdom, along with an extensive fleet of warships. The initial battles were naval engagements with few boarding actions though the invasion of the primary moon was the first large scale use of astartes against the Kingdom and they were horribly unprepared for the onslaught of the Void Paladins. Their naval commandos were almost completely annihilated trying to hold back the Paladins, most of their fleet assets are outright destroyed or captured by boarding actions. With the loss of the Daedrica Moons & with the surviving warships retreating the Kingdom had nothing to block the Confederates from the habitableworlds of the outer planets: Kalt, Lurnngrad, & Ablaria.
    • the Kalt Campaign (069-070.M37): The ice world of Kalt had been the first full surface invasion of the Pacification as the battles for Hadies & the Daedrica moons were mostly naval engagements. It was obliterated during the course of the Krumore Pacification by an Exterminatus via two-stage Cyclonic torpedoes carried on board the Ironclad warship Ibeni Vindicta. This was done after it was found out that a chaos cult sponsored by the Cabal of Destiny had been on the planet and a free for all between the various groups erupted, eventually the cult summoned daemonic allies and so the Exterminatus order was given. While the majority of the Kingdom did not know about the daemons and thus hailed it as the hallmark of Confederate brutality, once their survivors started trickling in with stories of chaos from the surface and pict feeds taken from orbit this line of thinking was quietly dropped.
    • Ablaria Campaign (070-076.M37): War fought to break Ablaria from the Kingdom, over half of the planets hives are destroyed during the conflict including its capital hive. After this campaign ended the regiments fighting here were sent straight to Lurnngrad to reinforce the Confederate forces on the surface.
    • the Scouring of Lurnngrad (070-077.M37): Lurnngrad was a vital agri world in the Kurmore system and was the site of the largest ground war of the Pacification. Its entire surface was covered in fortifications and trench lines that spanned whole continents. The planet was subjected to atomic and Phosphex weaponry and to this day is unable to support plant life, now only used as an armoury world by the Confederation with a few mining outposts. This battle convinced much of the Kingdom that they were most likely not going to defeat the Confederates.
    • Soeruta Campaign (075-077.M37): War launched at the same time as the Blockade on Tann, it targeted the civilized world of Soeruta. Not wanting to turn their planet into another Lurnngrad they surrendered at the closing of that planets Scouring though pockets of resistance continued to plague the Confederates until the close of the war, though some of these groups were absorbed by some of the planets more rogue nobility as private armies.
    • Tann Blockade (075-078.M37): A flotilla of Confederate warships were sent to blockade the Knight world of Tann in an effort to stem the amount of Knights that came from it to fight for the Kingdom. This blockade was not completely successful at stopping the Knight houses but was enough to give the Ablaria & Lurnngrad warzones some relief and turn the tide in their favor.
    • Siege of Neo-Krumore (078.M37): The final battle of the Pacification, it took several weeks to dislodge the orbital defenses and as many weeks for the ground invasion to grind the capital into submission.

Post Expansion Crusade[]

  • First Cabal Invasion of Pueblo (133-137.M37): The first attempt by the Cabal to secure more gene-seed or otherwise destroy the Void Paladins & their recruitment base. This is also the first true test of the Confederate military. They secure a foothold on the moon away from the forge hives and from here push straight to the surface of the planet. After several years of intense fighting they are pushed out of the system after very heavy losses on the part of the Rorarii and Pueblans themselves from the daemonic urban warfare. During this conflict Athirlyn forces stationed in their quarter of Abbaheim not only defended their section of the city but took in as many civilians as possible while also ranging out with kill teams to hold back the Chaos forces. This cemented the human population in trusting the Athirlyn.
  • Horu Assault (143.M37): Assault on a feral world used by the Cabal as a recruiting place in vengeance for the attack on Pueblo. Athirlyn Exodites & Aspect Warriors are sent along to assist in the assault. The Cabals main fortress on the planet is destroyed along with thousands of the native chaos worshiping savages. In this attack over a dozen chaos tomes are stolen and placed within a warded vault somewhere in there holdings.
  • Battle of Onkore (631.M40): This was the final battle against an Ork WAAAGH that threatened both Confederate and Imperial space. Alongside the Void Paladins and the Rorarii was the aloof loyalist chapter the Cacharodons, together they tore into the Ork positions and completely wiped them out. This battle also signifies the beginning of their alliance, giving them supplies and a safe harbor whenever they need it in return for a vow of silence on the location of the Pueblo Confederation.
  • Genao Massacre (999 M40): Violent attack against imperial citizens on the planet Genao in the defense of Aeldari who had been captured by a chaos cult called the Cult of the Dark Millennium that was trying to open a portal to the warp so daemons could destroy the planet on the eve of the new millennium, an event that would have had a similar backlash as Cadia with massive warp storms over at least a full sector. Since the public didn't know about the cult all they saw and reported was the Void Paladins & Aeldari forces attacking from orbit and killing hundreds of loyalist arbites and PDF as well as dozens of innocents inside a mansion. Currently the event is under Inquisitional investigation due to what was found within that mansion, and their is no explanation for why several dozen eldar were seen being carefully removed from the mansion, even at the cost of one of their own defending them, and loaded onto a Stormbird before disappearing into the void.
  • Second Cabal Invasion of Pueblo (604.M41): A second attempt by the Cabal to assault the holdings of the Void Paladins. This time they are soundly defeated first in space and then on the surface of the moon when they try to land their damaged transports. It is estimated that over a million chaos cultists awaiting orbital drop were killed on the moon by the combined airpower of the Pueblan navy and the chapter's own Storm Eagles, or during the sweep and clear missions conducted by the fourth cohort afterwards.
  • Sabbat Worlds Crusade (755-801.M41): Though considered renegades they secretly assisted the Mauryan Guard during several of their most difficult battles of the crusade. During this crusade is when Sezrion made a name for himself as a skilled swordsman with his massive chainsword against a champion of Khorne, splitting him in half from groin to shoulder and again right below the ribcage before his halves fell apart, the champions brutal daemon weapon was sealed away on Ma'arra with the other chaos relics as a way to keep them out of the hands of other Chaos in the future.
  • First Tau Incursion(955-960.M41): Due to the nearby warzone on the planet of Battlement becoming more intense than they planned, the Tau moved a part of their fleet into a nearby system looking for a stronghold from which to funnel reinforcements to their warriors and come across Pueblo itself, quickly moving to an invasion orbit when defense patrols of the Pueblo navy start to harrass the incoming fleet. As they push to the surface they meet a waiting army of over a thousand Astartes and untold Rorarii and Auxila allies, while their ground forces engage in this brutal battle the Void Paladins fleet, including the Laeraethus, engage the Tau fleet. The Tau fleet is obliterated to the last ship and the ground forces smashed the improvised Tau fortifications. After this battle Kiseran Vikres puts the chapter on high alert and sends out much of the fleet to hamper all Tau transports within the sub-sector, including throttling the Tau supply lines going to the forces against the Emperor's Liberators on Battlement. While this was a short war for the Void Paladins it was the end of a 20 year long struggle for Battlement's freedom against the Tau.
  • Battle of Epsilon 319b62t (970.M41): On a mining planetoid known only by the explorator placeholder it received when it was first discovered, was contested warzone by forces from the Cabal of Destiny and the Drukhari as they both also wanted to enslave the miners after both teamed up in killing the defense garrison guarding them as well as their meager fortification. A full Centurii had been observing Cabal forces in preparation for a covert assault, alongside a force of Athirlyn exodites hunting for stolen soulstones believed to be captured by their sadistic kin, when Allarus the Stormsword & Centurion Vellom along with his entire command Cadre were killed from a devastating Drukhari ambush, the xenos also ambush the Cabal forces when they try to join the battle. During the ambush Sezrion seizes Allarus' fallen weapon, the relic blade Stormsword, and with it is able to rally the remaining Cadres and scatter the enemy before launching a full on charge into the Cabal forces. During the final assault on the Cabal forces Sezrion is sheathed in warp energy and seems to fight off a daemonic incursion of his soul while the rest of the paladins defend him from all sides. All Cabal & Drukhari forces, along with most of the Paladins and over half of their exodite allies, are killed in the brutal onslaught that follows. After this battle Sezrion is granted full ownership of Stormsword and all that comes with the champion rank.
  • Second Tau Incursion (973-979.M41): After a change of leadership for the Tau commanders dealing with the Subsector containing the Emperor's Liberators & the Void Paladins, a second assault force is dispatched to begin the pacification of the area. This force is lead by the Ku'Vaw sept and its ruling Ethereal Aun'Krin, who chooses to keep his forces together instead of attacking both at once and chooses Pueblo as the first to be dealt with. A plethora of xenos soldiers are used to offset the expected casualties of the campaign with a heavy use of Kroot & Gue'vesa pulled from the large populations on Ku'Vaw as well as the eternally cackling Nawls, known as Rota'shas or "Day Fire" as the species is purely brought up as mercenaries, that are infamous for their natural language sounding like a constant light laugh. This incursion is far better planned than the first foray against Pueblo and at first only the outlying planets are hit and the main fleet is kept moving so as not to get caught in open combat with the larger human fleet while also forcing ground invasions to counter attack the Tau forces already deployed. After a series of setbacks for the Pueblo Militarum half of the Third Cohort deploys under its Soluto to straighten up the high command and bring victory. His initial report is that the Tau are employing vast xenos forces to choke up the front lines while battle suits hit any weak points found. It is eventually found out that human mercenaries had been hired to train the Gue'vesa troops to a higher standard than that seen in the Imperial Guard, the reasoning for their unusually high effectiveness against the Auxila forces. After 6 years of war across as many war zones within Pueblo control the main Tau base was destroyed by a surprise attack from the Paladin fleet that was followed with a massed drop pod assault. With the Tau forces in sudden disarray many are slaughtered before a general retreat pulls them out into space, where they are constantly harassed by the Pueblo fleet until they finally leave the systems. While many would say that the war was a total loss for the Tau, Aun'Krin considered it a personal victory as he had purged his sept of the majority of his dissenters as well as the fire warriors loyal to them. He had also bloodied the Pueblo forces and since most of his casualties were mercenaries Tau death was far less than expected. With his dissenters dead he solidified his iron grasp on Ku'Vaw and its population.
  • Odun Cleansing (981.M41): Short but savage battle between an Ecclesiarchy endorsed force of guard regiments pulled from shrine world systems, several thousand sisters of battle, a small squad of Grey Knights, and the entire first company including the Lord's-Castilian of the Solar Falcons, were attacked by the entirety of the First Cohort of the Void Paladins along with thousands of Rorarii, a large amount of forces from Craftworld Athirlyn, and a very large force of Pueblan Auxila. The loyalist forces fought until the last while Lord-Castilian Gorje fought a duel with the Paladin's own champion, Sezrion, while Vikres and his personal Centurii was busy with the more pitched orbital battle above. The fight lasted a full day as the two warriors battered the other and dodged mortal blows, each receiving injuries while their respective forces slaughtered each other around them. The fight ended with Sezrion impaling the massive astartes straight through his heart and spine before pinning him to the ground with Stormsword, Gorje headbutted Sezrion a couple of times out of defiance as his life quickly drained out onto the ground. Though in the end it was a victory for the Void Paladins, as a show of respect they gathered the gene-seed of the enemy dead and sealed them so that they would not rot waiting to be retrieved by Imperial forces, a fact guaranteed when a vid-feed of the entire duel was publicly broadcasted across the sub-sector after they departed including a warning to the Ecclesiarchy to leave them alone by Sezrion himself. As Odun was an Inquisition armoury world it was filled with warehouses of wargear from rare munitions to super heavy tanks as well as several Knights that had still been in storage and were siezed in a teleport assault followed by drop pods early in the ground invasion.
  • Tyrannic Invasion of Esl'Athirlyn (997.M41): This massive war pitted the Aeldari defenders of both Craftworld Athirlyn and its small cluster of maiden worlds against a Tyranid Hive fleet that assaulted the entire terraformed star system. Along with the Aeldari defenders were several legions of Rorarii and several Cadre of Void Paladins as part of a cross training program done with the Pueblo Confederation, on Pueblo is several companies worth of Guardians and Aspect warriors for the same reason. These human forces joined their Aeldari hosts in fighting the hordes of Tyranids that poured across the planets. After a week of fighting Confederate and Void Paladin reinforcements arrive and force their way into orbit to drop soldiers and supplies to aid the defenders of Enarc before aiding the others. it would be another month before the system is fully purged of Tyranids, with small packs of them hiding in the jungle wilderness of Enarc for long decades afterwards.
  • 13th Black Crusade (999.M41): Half of the First Cohort fought for the Imperium against the massive chaos assault on several fronts, including the Fall of Cadia as well as joining the defenders on the fortress world of Troii shortly afterwards. Aside from these battles other strike forces were sent elsewhere to assist where they could after the formation of the Great Rift as well as guard their home systems from the various assaults that happened from its formation.
  • Third Cabal Invasion of Pueblo (999.M41): While the Great Rift tore across the galaxy, the Cabal of Destiny gathered a large strike force that included not only their own forces but several Crews from the Dogs of Arrogance to provide the overall numbers for the assault, in order to capitalize on the weakened fabric of reality and bring a daemonic incursion upon the system. While more devastating than the last invasion this one also falls upon a substantial orbital defense grid and several fleets of warships, having also been mobilized due to the Great Rift. Heretic ground forces were deployed across Pueblo when the Dogs of Arrogance split their combined fleet and drove their warships headlong into the fray. These doomed ground troops entrenched themselves where they could but were quickly crushed by local militarum forces. Elsewhere in the asteroid filled orbit of the gas giant Caspia, unknown to the Void Palains and the Pueblo Confederation, Akemos lead a small coven of Cabal Sorcerers in finishing a ritual spanning all of their "failed" attempts at invading Pueblo and departed just as secretly...
  • The Annihilation of Iben (Unknown Year.M42): After years of planning following the success of the cleansing of Odun, Vikres decides it is time to finally avenge the Ibeni who died during the Iben Purge in M36. The full weight of the Chapter and the Rorarii are deployed to Iben and like on Odun bring a group of Athirlyn seers to block astropathic communications to ensure that the planets defenders are alone. The Inquisition did not heavily man the planet as it was already a frozen death world in a forbidden zone, its vast underground warehouses guarded by combat servitors as much as human soldiers. The fury unleashed by the chapter and the Rorarii bordered on Khornate rage as millennia of bitter memories passed down the generations of Ibeni boiled out of astartes and human alike, not only were no prisoners taken except for some astropaths and Inquisitors taken for intrusive psychic interrogations but the savagery displayed by the majority of the attackers against even the menial staff forced the Iterators and Rorarii officers to reign in the slaughter before it devolved fully beyond control. The Arce Magnus was infiltrated using ancient tunnels and cleared out within a few hours of frantic point blank combat as Rorarii flooded the fortress alongside astartes to shut down its void shields and allow teleport assaults. Once Terminators started appearing randomly all over the defense lines it was over. As it was an inquisition armoury world members of both the Deathwatch and the Grey knights were there and were killed alongside the rest of the defenders. Massive stores of rare munitions and amour pieces as well as vehicles were located along with more basic patterns seen by Imperial forces. Once the surface was cleansed of life and its warehouses fully emptied the chapter departed to orbit and all watched as the Ironclad warship the Ibeni Vindicta, a formerly Inquisition owned warship boarded and stolen during the first Iben Purge unleashed several cyclonic torpedoes while the entire fleet fired full broadsides at the Arce Magnus, slagging the continent and starting a violent tectonic reaction before the torpedoes even did their work and utterly shattered the planet until it was nothing but a debris field. A solar hour of further broadsides turned every large fragment into tiny asteroids and reduced the planet to as close to dust as possible, after this the fleet left the system and purposely left a trail to a barren system called Masada.
  • Operation Masada (Unknown Year.M42): This precise ambush saw the near total annihilation of the second strike force assembled to fight the Paladins, luring the Imperial forces to a desolate world of rock covered deserts within a system full of asteroids that hid a majority of the renegade fleet. A main contributor to the success of this operation and its resulting ambush was a high ranking Rorarii spy within the Ecclesiarchy, codenamed "Gospel", that was privy to the command center for the strike force on the civilized world of Stanna in its main hive. Due to the work of this agent reinforcements were sent to the wrong system, estimates of the Paladins military force were greatly understated, disorder was sewn in the highest echelon of the officers that bled its way down the hierarchy as issues compounded with other issues, & even assassinated several prominent targets of opportunity which only heightened the problems of the strike force's overall logistics. While Gospel disrupted the strike force from within, the chapter as well as the Rorarii and a large force of Aeldari from Craftworld Athirlyn massacred it with a series of ambushes and forced killzones outside a heavily fortified bastion. Though the Solar Falcons were busy dealing with warzones on several fronts they provided 2 Households but both were put far below half strength with most of the survivors injured by the end of the battle. In orbit the allied fleets laid waste to the Imperial fleet as the Aeldari ships conducted lightning strikes while the bulkier warships of the chapter charged in for boarding actions. Many of the Imperial ships were either scuttled or destroyed by these boarding actions with several becoming fully captured and added to the Paladin fleet after being repaired.
  • Ranian Crusade (130.M42-Present): This large scale military campaign is currently being waged to rid the Ranian Sector of several chaos & xenos incursions that have claimed a dozen systems across the Imperial dominated sector. They are fighting alongside the Angels of the Blade, Hussars Sanguine, Iron Myrmidons, Palatine Vindicators, Praetorians of Blood remade with Primaris, & the Tenebris Shades; against the Carmine Reavers and the Children of Iron within the Katon system, Churraba remnants from the uprising on Walcha that have regrouped on Tralvan, & Nawls on Doth that have begun raids on all surrounding systems. Currently the entire Third Cohort as well as half of the First & Second Cohorts, and over 100,000 Rorarii, are deployed in this crusade.

Chapter Appearance[]

Chapter Colours[]

The Void Paladins primarily wear dark stormcloud grey power armour like they did when they were still members of the Imperium, a symbolic gesture of their status as renegades. Their shoulder pauldron insets as well as parts of their armour trim is accented in royal blue, though gold trim is also used to denote rank. Despite their renegade status the Void Paladins still utilise the various markings and numerations in accordance to the holiest of tomes, the Codex Astartes. To them, disregarding or neglecting their battle-plate's upkeep and assigned designations brings both dishonour to their genesire, the Chapter and themselves. To most of the Paladins it is there only connection to the Imperium that refuses to accept them. Also it helps with blending in when they do deploy near loyalist forces as more than one battlefied's High Command has assumed them to be sent by the Imperium itself.

Void Paladins Armorial

Armorial used by the Void Paladins

Chapter Badge[]

The Void Paladins badge is a grey coloured kotinos (olive wreath) with the open end facing up, surrounding a grey delta centered upon a field of royal blue. Commanders and other high ranking members wear a gold kotinos and delta symbol instead, to denote their veteran status.

Cohort Designations[]

Upon the right knee of a Void Paladin will be a sigil that denotes which cohort they are a part of, though some champions and specialist ranks have their own symbol or lack one all together. First Cohort has the Chapter badge in gold, Second has a golden bust of Roboute Guilliman, Third has a black Skull, and the Fourth uses a silver Chapter badge.

Helmet Designations[]

Most of the symbols of rank from the Ultramarines is present within the Void Paladins in some way. Centurions, as well as the honour guards and champions, use the same type of transverse-crested helmets as seen on high ranking Ultramarines. Veterans & Sergeants can also have a smaller longitudinal crest that goes from the from front-to-back of their helm.

Chapter Beliefs[]

Due to Abba's vision they spread the Imperial Truth instead of the Creed or an offshoot of it. This is what brought them into conflict with the wider Imperium and what pushed them into their Renegade status in the first place. Nevertheless they stick to what the Emperor himself wanted. Currently the Imperial Truth, or just the Truth, is the main “religion” on Pueblo though the Imperial Creed and its offshoots is allowed for the time being due to the personal freedoms allowed to the human lords of the planet, as decreed by Abba when they settled the planet and joined its ruling government. A recent problem of spreading the Truth has created for them is the public emergence of cults dedicated to the Imperial Truth among the population of Larani V, as well as several investigations into the matter by just local authorities for the time being though much more powerful entities will surely catch wind of this so called Cult of Truth.

Even before they were considered renegades they held strong anti authoritarian beliefs that permeated into their structure and overall ideology, unlike the Ultramarines that are a model of a Codex compliant chapter and their gene-lineage. Like their gene-lineage they have a strong care for the humans under their care and humanity as a whole, often carrying out daring missions to come to the aid of human worlds under attack that cant wait for Imperial forces. Even so more than a few Cadre have been wiped out because of Imperial forces arriving right at the end of a battle and moping up everything that is not them or the locals.

Combat Doctrine[]

A defining attitude with all Void Paladins is that no battle brother, or at least his gene-seed, can be left behind. this is because of the losses suffered in the early periods of their existence and is the main reason they have been able to swell their numbers to the size it is now. Every phalanx has at least one Apothecary to tend to injuries and claim their Gene-Seed if they fall in their service to the chapter.

In battle prior to their Defection they were much more willing to engage in large scale crusade campaigns that incurred huge casualties but now with the loss of the limitless resources of the Imperium and their Original Homeworld they have become much more tactically varied with their missions, as well as using dirtier tactics to overcome their fanatical enemies. When it come to the combat itself they still favor closer range action but like their crusading tactics they have had to focus more on precise ranged attacks or silent executions instead.

Chapter Organisation[]

Unlike most chapters born of Roboute Guilliman's gene-seed, the Void Paladins were anti-authoritarian even before their defection, this translated into several changes like company layout, unit types, and size. Their cohorts were the separate crusading forces sent out to far away warzones and were made up of a few Centurii much like a phalanx being several cadre working together. Their crusading battle style forced them to recruit beyond the Codex-mandated amount of 1,000 Astartes, due to constant casualties across multiple warzones. As they were now outside of Imperial authority and have had a long time to rebuild their current size the Paladins have grown in number, far in excess of a standard Chapter at around 5000 astartes between the 4 cohorts and the support specialists.

Dominus Council[]

The chapter is lead by the Dominus Council, Ibeni word meaning high general or master, consisting of the Kiseran and the seven various Dominus' of the Chapter each overseeing a specific branch of the Chapters support roles: Master of Truth(Iterator), Master of War(Soluto), Master of the Fleets(Navarch), Master of the Mystic(Magi), Master of the Forges(Opifex), Master of the Apothecary(Medicus), & Master of the Rorarii.

Cohorts[]

They spit their large force into 4 Chapter sized groups, called a Cohort, with each one lead by a Legatus who in turn is in command of 10-12 Companies, each called a Centurii, lead by a Centurion comprised of 10-14 Squads, each called a Cadre, with about 5-10 Paladins each lead by a Decanus or Sergeant equivalent. Multiple cadres fighting in formation is called a Phalanx, and is the basis for the close range infantry tactics used by the Chapter since its crusading days, lead by the most senior Decanus in the phalanx. Often a Phalanx will not exceed 3 cadres or the max that can fit within a single Thunderhawk. Each of the four Legatus' have a personal command Centurii known as the Centurii Legio that is outside the normal numbering used for the rest of the Centurii, set up like a secondary veterans Centurii though it is considered to be the more elite of the two, while the Kiseran has a separate one as well called the Centurii Primus that deploys entirely in Terminator armour. Often each 1st Centurii will specialize in a certain type of warfare while the Legio/Primus Centurii take over most of the normal veteran Centurii things like Terminator use and Sternguard/Vanguard Cadres though these are also used by the 1st Centurii to a lesser degree.

  • First Cohort, the "Chosen of Abba"- Overall commanded by the Kiseran himself but day to day commanded by Legatus Titus. Has the biggest concentration of veteran warriors and terminator suits as well as the most warships for void warfare, in which its 1st Centurii specializes in for boarding actions and other aspects of void warfare. Most of the members are pulled from the other Cohorts to fill the battle line Centurii while the most promising recruits will be pulled in for the reserve Centurii.
  • Second Cohort, the "Primarch's Own"- Commanded by Legatus Groilleh, this Cohort is used as a normal chapter in that Centurii are sent off piecemeal to warzones as needed and rarely fight as a single force. Considered the main combat force as it has the most overall with the First Cohort being a smaller but more elite fighting force or the Third being twin hammers. Set up almost the same as a Codex compliant chapter with only the unique ranks and Centurii-Legio being the difference. Its 1st Centurii specializes in rapid aerial assaults & line breaking tactics.
  • Third Cohort, the "Back Breakers"- Commanded by Legatus Damerius it is usually split into 2 demi-cohorts or deployed as a single entity instead of sending multiple Centurii out like other Cohorts, and is used as either a hammer blow or as a reserve force to warzones at risk of being overrun. As such their veterans are split along with the Centurii Legio to give the Soluto a veteran Centurii. The veterans of this Cohort specialize in siege warfare & vehicle use. Each demi-cohort has two battle line Centurii, a single reserve Centurii of each type, a veteran Centurii, and scouts added as needed. Named either the demi-Legio or Soluto depending on who is in command of the veteran Centurii in that demi cohort. This Cohort has the biggest concentration of astartes, with 12 oversized Centurii overall, and land vehicles to give it raw armoured firepower in their large scale assaults.
  • Fourth Cohort, the "Shield of Pueblo"- Commanded by Legatus Trath, Master of the Watch. this Cohort is in charge of the defense of the Confederate systems as well as the training of new recruits. Its Legatus is always the day to day commander of the fortress on the plant surface, Ma'arra, as the Master of the Watch. This cohort has the most Rorarii attached to it and access to the most reserve legions as well in emergencies. Their 1st Centurii specializes in anti piracy and defensive operations.

Non Cohort Formations[]

Beyond the normal Cohorts and manpower of the chapter exist several formations, ranging from a Phalanx to a Centurii, that are either uner the command of someone outside the chapter or allowed to roam free under the command of an independent veteran officer.

  • Directorate Militants- Secretive Centurii that recruit from every Cohort and handles some the most covert and important jobs of the chapter, that of the equivalent units to replace the Deathwatch and Grey Knights for the Confederation as both Daemons & Xenos have been issues in varying degrees since its creation. Each is beyond the authority of all but the most senior officers in the chapter, their Directorate handlers, & the Quatumvirate Council itself. They are often supported by the Fourth Cohort in missions that require extra firepower. They dont have a void fleet of their own but are transported by the Directorate's fleet or Rorarii fleet, each Centurii does have a depot of specialized aerial & ground vehicles.
    • Centurii Cazador- Elite Veterans & Specialists with experience against various Xenos will combat those threats in elite Cadre with normal veteran Centurii gear. This group is the more active of the two sub groups with more constant missions due to the piracy at the border systems. It is also the bigger of the two with it usually hovering around a full Centurii.
    • Centurii Exorcista- Likewise similarly skilled Veterans & Specialists with a focus on combat oriented Librarians as the officers, all clad in artificer MkVIII or Terminator armour complete with Laranian runes of protection inlaid with psyweave materials defend against warp based assaults. They use Pueblo pattern Bolters or Storm bolters along with ample special weapons, & Power or Force weapons for melee. They are the Chapter's stand in for Grey Knights, meant to combat any Daemonic threat that crops up in the Confederation. Due to the extreme standards for recruitment it never numbers just over a demi Centurii. The membership in this Centurii is often permanent due to the secrecy of their missions, often only those that are needed in an officer role elsewhere are transferred out. The best of example of this is the Kiseran himself, Vikres was an officer of this Centurii before his ascension to the rank of Dominus Magus.
  • Independent Veteran Forces- These formations are independent forces that range away from the majority of the chapter and the Pueblo Confederation to assist allies across the wider galaxy, from Craftworld Athirlyn to various Imperial entities, or otherwise do as they wish to bring war to their enemies. Each has a Confederate made pattern of Vanguard Cruiser as a flagship and sometimes will be granted Escorts as well.
    • Chaad's Phalanx
    • Gomez's Phalanx
    • Sezrion's Phalanx

Ranks & Titles[]

  • Cohort- Chapter sized formation equivalent.
  • Centurii- Company equivalent.
  • Phalanx- Roughly equal to an infantry platoon, is a formation made up of several squads working together.
  • Cadre- Squad equivalent.

Officer Ranks[]

  • Kiseran- The rank given to the Chapter-Master of the Void Paladins.
    • Praetorian Guard- The Kiseran's most trusted guardians, while the Centurii Primus is the Kiseran's personal company of Terminator clad veterans, these warriors almost never leave his side. They show their status with a red robe over their armour that is adorned with the Sigil of the Kiseran.
  • Legatus- Rank given to a Cohort Master, treated like a chapter master by his personal cohort but is ever loyal to the Kiseran. The Legatus of the First Cohort is more the right hand man and assumed future successor to the Kiseran, often being the day to day leader of the cohort while the Kiseran deals with the bigger picture.
  • Soluto- A unique type of officer to the Void Paladins, acts as a support tactician between the Legatus and the Centurions, is in charge of overseeing the tactics used during the Cohorts campaigns and to aid the Legatus in many of his decisions. Since most officers like charging into battle at some point it falls to the Soluto to stay behind and take charge of the overall stratagem. Though it would seem that they would be the more pacifistic members of the chapter due to their support role all Soluto are considered elite even among other veterans & have a grim humor that they most often lead a fallen cohort's bloody last stand in the known history of the chapter. Often seen as the right hand man of the Legatus and his successor if not someone else. Found in each of the four Centurii Legio but the highest ranking Soluto is called the Dominus Arma and is part of the Centurii Primus within the First Cohort. The other Soluto all report to their Dominus on a daily basis so he can be up to date on the chapters troop movements and resupply needs.
  • Navarch- Each cohort has a naval commander for its own fleet, the Navarch of the Kiseran's personal cohort is considered the overall Master of the Fleets for the chapter or the Dominus Classis. Each of the various Cohorts has a powerful flagship as well as another dozen warships to defend it as befitting a fleet based chapter skilled at void warfare.
  • Tetrarch- Similar to the same rank within the Ultramarines, they are a cohorts statesman when dealing with other entities. Each cohort has one and there is no Dominus as they report directly to the Kiseran himself.
  • Centurion- Commander of a Centurii, equal to a codex compliant captain. Each Centurion usually has a secondary duty within the Cohort or even possibly within the Confederate government.
  • Prefect- Honorary title used as a prefix to their normal rank when multiple of the same rank are together and is most often used for the commanding Decanus of a Phalanx, and more rarely by Centurions when multiple battleline Centurii fight together. It is sometimes also given to champions if they hold a secondary rank as well.

Specialist Ranks[]

  • Dominus Veritas - Chapter equivalent of a Master of Santicity & Reclusiarch.
    • Iterator- Similar to a Chaplain in a codex compliant chapter, instead of the Imperial Creed crafted by the Ecclesiarchy to keep control of the imperial masses they spread the Imperial Truth. The name Iterator is from the time of the Great Crusade, it was the people responsible for spreading the Imperial Truth to newly compliant worlds and undermining other more secular faiths. Though they still hold a near religious role due to the creation of purity seals and wards to fight daemons, a fact that has always kept a sliver of doubt and private debates within their ranks as to if He truly is divine. Armed with the same Crozius Arcanum and dispense the same justice to chaos tainted anything as their imperial counterparts including the use of skull helms.
  • Dominus Medicus - Chapter equivalent of a Chief Apothecary.
    • Medicus- Similar to an Apothecary in a codex compliant chapter. Each cohort has its own head apothecary called a Legio Medicus, but the most senior apothecary for the chapter is called the Dominus Medicus.
  • Dominus Magus - Chapter equivalent of a Chief Librarian.
    • Magi/Magus- Similar to a Librarian in a codex compliant chapter. The head librarian of a cohort is called a Magus. Each cohort has around ten Magi of their own while the Magus is part of the Legatus' personal Centurii. The most senior librarian in the chapter is called the Dominus Magus. He is also in charge of culling the psyker population on Pueblo to manageable levels so that daemonic possession doesn't happen or spread. Also he will train those that are strong enough of will to become either future Magi or part of the Auxila as a battle psyker.
  • Lanista- Instructors that train the aspirants and neophytes in the art of war. Most are part of the Fourth Cohort as part of the garrison force at each Castrum, though each Cohort has a few to finalize the training of the scouts in the ways of the Cohort. The head Lanista for each cohort is called a Lanista-Legio while the headmaster and Master of Recruits for the chapter is called the Lanista-Primus.
  • Venator- Specialist recon marine that is a hybrid between a scout sergeant and a sternguard veteran instead of a raw recruit like normal scouts. Often they operate alone or in small kill teams but can be attached to a normal Cadre as well. The head Venator in a Cohort is called a Venati-Legio while the Venator found in the Kiseran's Centurii is called the Venati-Primus and is considered the highest ranking Venator overall. One thing about Venator Cadre is that they are all part of the Centurii Primus & Legio's, making them more or less the personal scouts of the Kiseran/Legatus as well as their eyes and ears, or assassins, if need be.
  • Opifex- Similar to a Techmarine in a codex compliant chapter. Each cohort has its own forge Master called a Legio Opifex, but the Master of the Forges for the chapter is called the Dominus Fornax. Due to their renegade status they can no longer go to Mars and receive training but instead are trained by their own veterans and the Confederate Mechanicum.
  • Signifer & Vexillifer- The standard bearers of the Chapter, a Signifer bears a Centurii or personal champion's standard while a Vexillifer bears the Cohort standard. The Centurii Primus has an extra Vexillifer considered the senior most standard bearer, called the Vexilli-Primus, that carries the chapter standard.
  • Ancient- Term used for those within the shell of a Dreadnought.

Line Ranks[]

  • Decanus - Commander of a cadre, equal to a Sergeant in a codex compliant chapter. When cadres group up into a Phalanx the most senior Decanus is in charge if their is no other higher rank present.
  • Paladin- Battle-Brother equivalent.
  • Shield Guard- Unique type of assault marine that instead of jump packs uses a combat or boarding shield along with some kind of melee weapon, usually a chainsword, and a bolt pistol. Instead of being fast attack units like their jump packed counterparts they focus on shield walls and similar defensive tactics. First created from the Larani V aspirants since the feudal world gave them skilled shield users that are used to coordinated teamwork in the heat of battle but eventually spread to most reserve assault marines since they can use the shield and teamwork as a kind of crutch until they are more able to jump into the midst of enemies and slaughter on their own. Often used to defend the many Voidships of the fleet alongside the Rorarii armsmen. Most officers in these Cadre forgo the shield in favor of duel wielding their weapons like other assault marines though some opt for a shield to match their brothers.
  • Scout Marine
  • Neophyte

Champions[]

  • Chapter Executioner- The brutal champion that is in charge of the grisly ritual conducted on traitorous brothers, wields a massive power axe with a plasma pistol as a back up and is clad in Praetor pattern MkIV power armour from the time of the Legions for actual combat. He is the only champion that regularly has flesh trophies of any kind in battle, with helmets and skulls or other parts attached to his waist but never as extreme as most chaos marines. Another duty is that of being the Kiseran's personal champion, as any indiscretion against the Kiseran is against the chapter as a whole and will be met with sudden & unrestrained violence.
  • Quatumvirate Councilman- While not actually a Champion in a normal sense, the chapter jokingly refers to whomever is the assigned representative of the chapter on the Quatumvirate Council as a Champion of Politics. As befitting the representative on the highest council in the Pueblo Confederation this astartes wears a ceremonial set of relic MkII Crusader Power Armour and wields an equally old Power sword to go with it though uses his personal armour and weapons for combat deployments.
  • Stormsword- Offensive champion that has a more traditional role, that of beating enemy commanders in single combat but is also a commander in his own right. The title follows the ancient greatsword of the same name, bestowed upon a worthy swordsman upon the current owner's death.

Non-Astartes Personnel[]

Like the Ultramarines that they hail from they have good relations with the humans that work and live around them. They deploy legions of chapter serfs called Rorarii and can call upon the offensive Militarum forces of the Pueblo Confederation's capital world of Pueblo, named the Pueblo Auxila, if needed or if the threat is local.

Rorarii[]

Rorarii are the chapter serfs as well as an elite infantry force all their own, similar to the Storm Troopers of the Imperial Guard. These men & women help guard the chapter's holdings and operate some of the support roles on board warships as well as overall being a personal human military force of the chapter. Most are recruited from the descendants of the Ibeni that followed the paladins into defection though all Confederate planets have since joined in as well. Each uses environmentally sealed carapace armor along with a local Lasgun patten named the "Rorarii Pattern" that uses xenos tech to put it on par with a hellgun power wise but without a cumbersome backpack. They favor Plasma & Melta weaponry for the ample special weapons in each Cadre and heavy weapon support, though Las weaponry is very common as well due to the xenos tech incorporated in the more higher end local patterns. They are trained by the paladins themselves making even a basic recruit on par with the storm troopers of the Imperial Guard. They use much the same ranking system as the chapter with a Decanus, Centurion & Legatus being equal ranks in their hierarchy but use the term Legionnaire instead of Paladin for their basic trooper, call their main commanding officer the Dominus Rorar, & call their main regimental grouping a Legion which numbers around 6,000 troopers. Each cohort has its own Rorarii Legions but the First and Fourth Cohorts have triple & quadruple the normal Rorarii to help guard the warships and Ma'arra itself respectively. Theirs is the only non astartes Dominus for the entire chapter and has equal say in respect to any other Dominus, meant to better ground the long lived astartes to that of the mortals they defend as much as adding to tactics.

Deathwatch Service[]

When the chapter was still considered loyal they gave many brothers to the Long Watch in the defense of Mankind from Xenos. When the Iben Purge happened it was assumed that those brothers were forced to take oaths as blackshields but sadly intel gained from the cogitators on Odun confirmed that they were assassinated by their fellow Kill team members on orders from the Inquisition prior to the Purge.

Notable Void Paladins[]

Loyalists[]

  • Kiseran Vikres "the Wise" Tirautu, the Last Son of Iben- Ancient chapter mater of the Void Paladins and an immensely powerful psyker due to his age granting him a very long time to learn about his powers and how to use them, easily outclassing the current Dominus Magus Kaeso and most other Librarians & Sorcerers the Paladins have come across. Wields a Magi staff in his left hand, which he has increasingly relied on to aid his movement outside of armour, to help focus his powers in combat and a relic force sword of Aeldari origin as his main weapon in general as despite his age Vikres has always loved the thrill of melee combat. Besides his warp powers he has a rare Pueblo pattern CombiMelta as his ranged weapon maglocked to his ancient suit of Cataphractii Terminator armor. He has been building his chapter up as much as possible for many centuries, his goal eventually to reach Legion status in preparation for the eventual crusade to purge the Cabal of Destiny once and for all. Following the Annihilation of Iben in M42 Vikres has gained the solemn title of "Last Son of Iben", being the last living being born on the former planet after the trio of Dreadnoughts that shared that distinction died in the assault or chose to stay behind.
  • Kaeso Menenius, the Dominus Magus- The highest ranking Magi in the chapter, was mentored by Vikres when he was still the Magus.
  • Lepidus Gratian, the Dominus Veritas- Firm believer in the Truth and the Emperor as well, has seen to many divine things in His name to not know that he is in some way, even if He did not want it and understands why He tried to deny it, divine.
  • Savod Andronicus, the Dominus Classis- Seasoned admiral in personal charge of the First Cohort fleet, as well as the rest of the chapters fleets as a whole. The Laeraethus is considered a part of the First fleet but rarely joins it on missions. He is a very humble officer for an Astartes that seems to naturally gain the respect of the ones he works with, often being considered one of the chapters chief diplomats as well. Was present during the Fall of Cadia and is currently getting ready for the next front line action against the Cabal on the planet Troii.
  • Lars Vedrix, the Dominus Arma- The most senior Soluto in the chapter and seen as one of the foremost tacticians of the chapter ever. Often lays out extensive plans from a crusade headquarters and can coordinate multiple frontlines with ease from his personal command throne within the Laeraethus. If he enters a battle personally he will use Terminator armor with an artificer power claw & dual wrist mounted storm bolters though this it is rare for him to enter frontline combat as he prefers to keep back and better guide a warzone to victory.
  • Galen Toutius, the Dominus Medicus- Head Apothecary for the chapter. Though young compared to the other Dominus' his medical skills have proved invaluable to the chapter and to the Pueblans during disasters. Considers his work helping the much shorter lived humans as the best possible thing he could do with his talent besides dealing with the chapters gene-seed.
  • Hephast Paternus, the Dominus Fornax- Giant bearded senior Opifex that lost his left arm long ago while repairing a dreadnought in combat but replaced it with a multi limb servo arm on par with a servo harness after he recovered. His nest of mechadendrites have many tools and energy weapons integrated into them but his favored weapon is the Omnissian power axe, his badge of office as a techmarine. Hephast is highly skilled at engravings & creating artificer equipment. Though considered scary looking by many Pueblans, with his half machine visage & the giant hairy bulk of his flesh, Hephast loves making trinkets for children, he is even held as a kind of patron saint of children on the planet similar to a Saint Nicholas of old earth due to his visiting of orphanages with toys to hand out along with the mars red of his techmarine armor.
  • Dominus Rorar Ivar Ulricson- highest ranking human in the chapter hierarchy, he is in charge of the Rorarii legions that serve the chapter as its armed human serfs.
  • Reclusiarch Augustus- Old Iterator that tends to the Sacred Reclusiam on board the Laeraethus. Rarely leaves the chapter's flagship though he will attend to missions of importance like the rescue of Athirlyn Seers on Genao.
  • Venator-Primus Kláus Aagard (MIA)- Commander of all the Venators within the chapter, overseeing their Cohort deployments and acting as the Kiseran's personal assassin. When news of Roboute Guilliman's resurrection reached the chapter, he went on a secret mission on his own to contact the Primarch with the intention of getting the chapter within the Imperium's good graces again. This mission was not allowed by Vikres though no news of Kláus has been heard from since. Unknown to the chapter he is held prisoner in the dark city of Comorragh as a "guest' of Archon Kaedros of the Kabal of the Broken Glass, captured shortly after leaving Confederate space and has been made to fight in several gladiatorial matches in the Kabal's behalf.
  • Legetus Cras Virilis of the First Cohort- He is the right hand man of the Kiseran and day to day commander for the First Cohort. Considered next in line to succeed Vikres as the Kiseran. Was present during the Fall of Cadia as the overall commander of the Paladins there and is currently getting ready for the next front line action against the Cabal on the planet Troii.
  • Centurion Marcus Aurelian of the First Cohort, 1st Centurii- Commander of the 1st Cohort of the Veteran 1st Centurii. Known as a stoic Philosopher & a fan of art. Uses meditation to clear his mind before a battle & will often create some kind of art after a memorable battle. his work is held in high esteem by other paladins as well as the general public of the Pueblo Confederation. Was present during the Fall of Cadia and is currently getting ready for the next front line action against the Cabal on the planet Troii.
  • Centurion Paullus of the First Cohort, 2nd Centurii- Commander of the primary battle Centurii of the First Cohort and a long time friend of Marcus. Was present during the Fall of Cadia as well as Troii.
  • Lanista-Legio Maximus of the Fourth Cohort- Venerable instructor of aspirants and scout marines, was the Lanista during Sezrion's trials on Larani along with Saiot, Alek, & Chaad. Can still be found teaching aspirants on either Pueblo or Larani V.
  • Prefect-Decanus Chaad Barlott- Longtime rival of Sezrion from their time on Larani V, when Sezrion was granted Stormsword it was devastating news to Chaad who had wanted the prestige that came with being a champion as much as he wanted to famed relic. He is skilled in swordsmanship like all Laranians and is in charge of an Assault Cadre within the First Cohort to put his skill to use, wielding a power sword and storm shield with a bolt pistol for ranged combat. Following the successful ambush on Imperial forces around Masada and Chaad's deeds during this war, Chaad was granted a similar honour to Sezion in terms of commanding a semi-autonomous phalanx away from the main Cohorts as well as beng given command of a Strike Cruiser.
  • Octavian Sandoval (Pictured at Top)- Battle brother of the Second Cohort's 2nd Centurii 2nd Cadre. While not a long time Paladin he has shown great promise as a warrior and leader even while under pressure.

Sezrion's Phalanx[]

Following the victory on Masada Sezrion was given command of a modfied Vanguard light cruiser, the Obliviscaris, as well as several more squads placed within his now demi company sized personal phalanx. Besides his command Cadre his phalanx is split between a handful of various sized Cadre: two full Cadre of tactical marines, a full Cadre of power weapon using Vanguard veterans, a half Cadre of Sternguard veterans, Saiot's half Cadre of elite Venators, and a half Cadre each of normal & assault Terminators. Iterator Avidius, Magi Lazrus, Medicus Hosaea, plus Opifex Alek & a few of his subordinate Opifex together make up the specialists attached to the phalanx. A full Legion of Rorarii have been attached to his voidship to mainly act as its armsmen as well as the normal support duties of the Rorarii.

  • Prefect-Decanus Sezrion Nysted, the Stormsword, the Lantern Drinker- Stalwart swordsman that was born at the stroke of midnight at the start of 666.M41 on an Imperium controlled feudal world that is constantly besieged by ork due to the feral tribes all over its remote areas. Long before he was born it was far worse with whole cities being besieged by the feral Ork armies that would amass about twice every generation while the kings of Larani V cried out for help from the Imperium and the Emperor personally. The help that did come were not loyalist astartes but renegades that died just as hard defending the human population in His name. Due to their renegade standing the local kings gave the warrior orphans as recruits in secret. From this pact is how Sezrion came to become a Void Paladin. His current skill with a sword is such that he has been given the honor of carrying the relic Stormsword, with it the rank as one of the chapters Champions as well as the artificer bolter made to accompany it called Steel Rain. Currently a Prefect-Decanus under Marcus within the 1st Cohort leading a semi autonomous demi company sized phalanx. Was present during the Fall of Cadia and the nearby fortress world of Troii, where various Imperial remnants separated from the main evacuation fleets regrouped and were then besieged by pursuing Chaos forces.
    • Arcer & Brunar- Ibeni descended fraternal twins, they are by far the most savage members of the phalanx. they both preferre the point blank combat & jump pack abilities of an assault marine. Brunar uses a large chainsword gifted to him from Sezrion & an ornate Bolter taken as a trophy from a Solar Falcons Veteran on Odun. Arcer dual wields a chainaxe & his combat knife with an ancient pattern Bolt pistol fitted with a bayonet and a drum mag as his ranged weapon. Brunar is one of the few Paladins to be close to Hephast's bulk, standing taller than even Sezrion or Alek, while Arcer is of a normal astartes build.
  • Iterator Avidius Surus- Hardliner that holds absolutely to the Imperial Truth, but following the Fall of Cadia he has found himself doubting. Upon the doomed world of Cadia he witnessed what he can only rationalize as a miracle, a slain battle sister of the Adepta Sororitas returning to life in a burst of golden light & adorned by a pair of angelic wings and a far more ornate version of the armour she had died in just minutes before. She proceeded to come to the aid of Imperial forces and dived down on the chaos forces until the Imperials rallied. Following this she defended an evacuation site until the planet fully broke apart under her feet, disappearing from visual feeds as she hacked away at the daemons still assaulting her position. Currently he is the Iterator of Sezrion's phalanx, acting as its spiritual guide and the core of its morale.
  • Magi Lazrus- Lazrus is a veteran Magi of the chapter for longer than even Sezrion has been an astartes and resents being under such an upstarts command, a fact that he brings up to Sezrion often though he remains a loyal member of the phalanx.
  • Medicus Hosaea- Pueblan that is the newest member of the Cadre and by far the rookie with less than a decade past finishing his medical training. He has since shown an acute tactical skill he was not even aware he had, raising more praise from his brothers, as well as quickly learning the more advanced skills that only come from real combat.
  • Prefect-Opifex Alek Fuglsong- Alek is a skilled Opifex and the only one besides Saiot that has known Sezrion from his childhood, being childhood friends with him & Saiot and coming from Larani V. Along with his artificer armour and mechandendrites common to Techmarines, a CombiPlasma is mounted over the left shoulder with both the Bolter and Plasma gun halves using ammos feeds to back mounted storage. He prefers an Inferno pistol gifted to him from Hephast as his backup weapon along with his personally made Omnissian axe, a rough edged hammer on the reverse of the axe blade to crack heavy armour.
    • Opifex Pedaro- Main assistant to Alek, handling the majority of the more mundane duties as well as being a primary pilot for the phalanx.
  • Decanus Meywan Bewar- The more senior of the commanders of the tactical Cadre, the other being the Neo-Krumore born Hinrick von Tolian, within the phalanx. Meywan was born on Kurtan and uses a larger version of the curved knives common to the planet as his personal combat knife.
  • Decanus Arminius Gala- Commander of the Vanguard assault marine Cadre within the phalanx, an Ibeni bred veteran warrior with a notably savage demeanor. He wields a power sword and a Plasma pistol as his normal weapons as well as usually carrying extra grenades than normal.
  • Decanus Bodvar Nansen- Laranian born Commander of the Sternguard veteran Cadre within the phalanx. He uses similar weapons to his Sternguard, an artificer Combi weapon with a bolt pistol & chainsword as secondary weapons, though he replaced the chainsword with a power sword and uses a CombiFlamer.
  • Venator-Decanus Saiot Falcye- Childhood friend of Alek & Sezrion from Larani V, whom he calls "Sez" and is the only one to use such a nickname for him, that was trained as a ranger and as such is an expert marksman. Considered the best shot in the entire Chapter but many forget his martial training on a feudal world also makes him a dangerously skilled swordsman, Sezrion even counts him as one of his main sparring partners, and above either of these he is by far the best knife fighter within the entire chapter. His main weapon is a custom made Pueblo pattern Stalker Bolter with a built in bi-pod and bayonet, he carries several mags full of special bolt rounds to combat any threat. His back up weapons being a plasma pistol & a pair of relic power blades called Deimos & Phobos. In his chambers he has the Black sword of Camenox, a very sacred relic of the Solar Falcons that he stole to spite the loyalist rivals of the Paladins, hanging on his wall. Currently in charge of a Venator Cadre, all handpicked veterans he personally trusts, attached to Sezrion's phalanx.
    • Venator Barbatius Littera- Saiot's #2 within the Venator Cadre, acting as a secondary Decanus whenever Saiot is off on his own or by Sezrion's side.
  • Decanus Titius Burrienus- Aged Ibeni veteran that commands all of the elite Terminators attached to Sezrion's phalanx, using a power sword and a storm bolter with an under barrel chainblade as his normal weapons.
  • Ancient Daavis- Onkorian born marine that was injured during the First Cabal Invasion of Pueblo and inturred within the chassis of a venerable dreadnought. Armed with twin linked lascannons and a master crafted power fist that has a stormbolter slung under it.
  • Signifer Reikard- Sezron's personal Standard Bearer.
  • Prefectus Rehana Kezêban- Kurtanish officer within the Rorarii, on par with a Major in the Imperial Guard. Famous for her skill in urban warfare and for a candid photo taken by a journalist on the front lines where she as an Opito at the time flashed a carefree smile and wave of her hand, before casually leading her Phalanx of elite Patharii into a charge against ork positions on her homeworld of Kurtan. Her survival and interview afterwards cemented her popularity across the Confederation. Following the ambush on Masada she was made a Prefectus within the Rorarii contingent onboard the Obliviscaris as the overall commander of the warship's offensive Rorarii but not the defensive Rorarii armsmen.
  • Navigator Tasaria Madeayan Dewbur Nath-Fernweh: Main Navigator for the Obliviscaris. She is known for being a wildcard even by the standards of her eccentric brethren, those Navigators that learn under her often also carry this stigma when then go off to other ships.

Heroes of the Chapter[]

As a chapter that venerates its noble dead several of their lost members are held as saints to them and by the people of Pueblo in general.

  • Kiseran Abba "the Great" Milaro- The legendary Kiseran that was in charge during the Defection from their original homeworld of Iben. As the Kiseran he lead the chapter in some of its most glorious battles personally from the front lines like against Ork during the Onkar crusade & Eldar on Putamn. He was the Kiseran for almost 1000 years, the longest serving chapter master of any loyalist chapter at the time. After the Inquisitions first assault on Iben he was responsible for leading his marines and the surviving natives of Iben to safety. Once they got to Pueblo he was the one that secured their future as the handlers of the planet. He was killed during the assault on board the Laeraethus by Legatus Xzore and his chaos marines while guarding the gene-seed vault the night before the 100 year anniversary of the loss of Iben. Though Xzore challenged him to single combat his marines pounced on Abba as soon as they had an opening, rending him apart but leaving the final blow for Xzore who just laughed at such an honorable, and most likely oldest astartes not twisted by the warp, would be brought down with such treachery. Afterwards his gene-seed and weapons, a master crafted storm bolter & a power axe, were taken by Xzore though his ruined terminator armor was left behind. Interestingly both weapons would eventually disappear from the Cabal's hidden vaults but did not end up with the Void Paladins, giving rise to a possible esoteric reasoning for their loss. Abba's proginoid glands are held in a glass box protected by a stasis field within Xzore's personal chambers, the centerpiece of his entire display.
  • Iterator Ullius, the First Dominus Veritas- Pious & resolute Chaplain that had a very hard time accepting what Abba had learned from the Aeldari, calling it an obvious xenos trick. It was after several days of constant debate that he accepted the Imperial Truth, though he never spoke of the visions he sometimes received long ago of the emperor as well whenever he prayed in the Reclusiam that bade him to listen to "the Truth". From that day forward he preached the tenants on and off the battlefield as Abba asked and he felt was right. Died during the First Cabal Invasion of Pueblo fighting the daemonic hordes ravaging civilians in the streets of Abbaheim. To this day in Abbaheim the residential area he died defending is named the Ulllius Quarter.
  • Venerable Dreadnought "Grandfather" Spacarus- One of a trio of ancient Dreadnoughts that along with Vikres are the only surviving sons of Iben, born and raised on the planet before the Inquisition drove the from it. Of the trio Spacarus was the most devastated by this, being the oldest of them and was put into the dreadnought due to injuries sustained during the Iben Purge. During the Annihilation of Iben he followed the Kiseran command squad into battle and among many other acts of combat valor defeated a venerable Deathwatch dreadnought as well as leading the vanguard into his former home when they breached the Fortress-Monastery. During the duel with the dreadnought he was badly damaged, made worse by his later actions with the vanguard. Though he would survive the entire battle he opted to die with Iben, not wanting to leave the planet he had loved for millennia, and as the other two dreadnought sons of Iben had fallen in the batte they were placed upon the battlements alongside Spacarus. Following his death Vikres would solemnly gain the title, "Last Son of Iben".

Traitors[]

Besides these noble battle brother's there are the shameful traitors that joined, or tried to join, the Cabal of Destiny during the Night of the Splintering, or are in some way traitors in service to the dark gods. The majority of the Paladins that have gone to Chaos was during the Night of Splintering, though since then a squad or even a phalanx has gone rogue from time to time.

  • Legatus Xzore the Splinterer- Legatus that went to chaos and betrayed the chapter by stealing half of the gene-seed stored in the vault and killing the Kiseran at the time. Escaped into the warp and is one of the founding members for the Cabal of Destiny. Earned the Moniker "the Splinterer" after smashing Abba's chest with a power maul which caused his broken armor to shatter.
  • Fleetmaster Nimeron- The Navarch of Xzores former cohort that followed him into following chaos. was in charge of the False God while Xzore lead the boarding action to steal the gene-seed. Considered the overall fleetmaster for the Cabal of Destiny from his own personal Strike Cruiser, the Annihilator.
  • Sergeant Dynax- Mid ranking commander that followed Xzore into betrayal. Has lead many vanguards for the Cabal against both Imperial and other Chaos forces. Currently part of the forces amassing to assault Troii.
  • Brutus the Unwanted- Part of the chaos splinter faction commanded by Legatus Xzore and was in charge of the transports used to ferry the boarders that stole the gene-seed. When Xzore escaped with his veteran Centurii Brutus was unknowingly left behind as a sacrifice to be captured and interrogated. Once it was deemed that he was useless as an informant he had his gene-seed removed and burned as it was already considered unworthy of being used, along with each enhanced organ, one at a time, alive. He set the record for time spent alive during the execution, a grim process reserved for ALL paladins that go to chaos or betray the order in any way. His name gained the Unwanted addition when Xzore left him behind and included the following line during his escape, "..the unwanted within that transport have done their job".
  • Captain Geirmundur Brattaberg- Laranian born Paladin that fell to the worship of chaos sometime in M40 alongside Feroiv and has become one of the senior commanders of the Cabal of Destiny. His entire phalanx along with another Phalanx went with him but half of the other phalanx was killed and those that were captured suffered the same fate as Brutus, only his honor guard escaped with him to meet up with Xzore while the rest of the survivors followed Feroiv on his own mission. Wielded an artificer power sword alongside a powerfist with a bolter mounted on it in emulation of his gene-sire but has since been gifted a daemonsword to replace his now corrupted original power sword, which in turn has been passed down as a relic of the Cabal.
  • Sergeant Graeneus- Super loyal second in command that followed Geirmundur in going to chaos. Uses the power sword owned by Geirmundur before he received a daemon sword, a large gladius with a star of chaos etched over the Void Paladins iconography, a corrupted plasma pistol as his offhand weapon that fires balls of plasma bathed in balefire similar to that of the inferno bolts of the Rubricae with much the same effect on the soul of his victim.
  • Dark Iterator Feroiv- Iterator & Magi that learned of the full power of sorcery and went to the service of Chaos sometime in M40, he is responsible for also convincing Geirmunder to go to Chaos as well. Though he did join the Cabal of Destiny he eventually left to create a small warband of his own. He will still ally himself with the Cabal when it suits his needs, though is very careful of duplicity when dealing with them.

Chapter Relics[]

  • Armour of Contempt- Also known as the Brynja ov Foragt in Laranian, after gaining champion rank Sezrion received a brand new suit of Artificer MkVIII Power Armor that includes Laranian runes of psychic warding inscribed on it to protect against psykers and other warpcraft. These rune were originally used by the most elite knights of Larani to protect against psychic & other warp based attacks and are mixed with psychweave technology to further reinforce them, this aspect inspired the name of the suit. It has a transverse crest and a golden kotinos adorning the helm with an advanced iron halo adding to its defensive capabilities. Like most officers in the chapter Sezrion wears an Adamantium Mantle, a cloak of exceptional artistry combined with an adamantium weave meant to augment the already well off defensive abilities of a senior astartes in the Ultramarines and their successors, upon his armour as a badge of office. The suit was built by Alek and Hephast before his promotion to Stormsword as Allarus predicted that he would be his successor someday.
  • Blade of Athirlyn - An Aeldari Witchblade given to Abba as a sign of their alliance to the other Aeldari forces. Since he was not a psyker, the blade was put into a vault until the Night of the Splintering when Vikres used it to defend the relic vault from the traitor Paladins. After he found out Abba died he decided to keep the sword in memory of Abba's promise to the chapter.
  • Deimos & Phobos- Pair of matching power blades, Phobos being a large dagger while Deimos is a longsword. Both have distinctive leaf shaped blades similar to the gladius common to the Ultramarines and their successors. They were added to the chapter after their Defection as gifts from a Pueblan merchant lord. Currently used by Venator Decanus Saiot Falcye though he will usually not use Deimos very often, having trained since his childhood in knife combat and being infamous as the most skilled knife fighter in the chapter he prefers Phobos, unless the melee is very brutal or is challenged by an enemy champion.
  • Pueblo pattern Bolters - Though not relics an item unique to the chapter is what they have called a Pueblo Pattern Bolter or just Pueblo Bolter, a beefed up godwyn pattern bolter modified to use heavy bolter rounds instead of basic bolter rounds, its meant to be fired in single shot but can be fired in full auto as well. Can use sickle mags, drum mags, or be adapted to use a belt feed. Meant as a more portable heavy bolter or as a sniper rifle depending on the users needs. Used by many veterans as their main weapon to give them more firepower and flexibility in its use. Most of the Terminators in the chapter use a belt fed Pueblo bolter instead of a Storm bolter like loyalist Terminators. The secretive order of anti daemon astartes in the fourth Cohort are known to use a rare Storm bolter variant for maximum firepower against warpspawn.
  • Stormsword- Ancient astartes greatsword with the dirty white color of fogged glass. The golden cross guard is in the shape of an eagle with a thunderbolt shaped pommel, green leather from an unknown xenos beast is wrapped around the handle. Dates back to around the Heresy era or possibly to the birth of the Imperium or even earlier. It was one of the oldest relics if not the oldest given to the chapter when it was founded that is still in their hands, though it has almost been lost several times. There are engravings of some kind of unknown human runes or hieroglyphs along the blade that glow when the disruption field is activated. Many of the psychic members of the chapter have noted the sword and especially the engravings have a subtle glow in the warp akin to blessed weaponry and that when used around daemonic forces it has an effect on their morale as well as their vile souls. The edge of its blade is capable of cutting ceramite even without using the power field thanks to alloy technology long lost to the Mechanicus if they ever possessed it. The unknown alloy used in its construction has somehow remained almost undamaged over the 10,000+ years of use, with only a few tiny chips to show for its storied history. The few chips to it have been repaired with adamantium and it has bonded well enough to assume that it was used in the original alloy, but as to what it was mixed with is yet to be figured out. Hephast has a few ideas as to what it is: a unique metal from a meteorite mined from a planet long forgotten or lost to history being his main theory, some kind of advanced xenos material like necrodermis used prior to the full banning of it in the Imperium, or possibly even that the alloy itself is some kind of Auramite but even he thinks this is the least plausible of the ideas given how rare & protected that alloy and its creation is. It is passed down to a worthy chapter champion who takes on a rank of the same name, it is customary for that champion to use an artificer storm bolter named Steel Rain as his ranged weapon. Currently owned by Pefect-Decanus Sezrion.
    • Steel Rain- Artificer bolter made to accompany Stormsword as it is meant to be wielded one handed, it was created before the defection during the Idolater Crusades at the founding of the chapter. Mounts a multi range scope & built in compensators this gives it better accuracy as well as handling. It is made to easily use a drum mag without any jamming issue on its end though drum mags sometimes jam even if the bolter doesn't. Most think its named after its punishing fire rate or the famous drop pod tactic, but it is actually named after a type of weather storm found on Iben that caused the freezing rain to come down in a hail of jagged needles that would shred flesh and bone on contact.

Vault of Madness[]

An even more warded and sealed off vault compared to the Fortress-Monastery's main vault exists deep under Ma'arra, containing a large amount of chaos tomes and other tainted relics so that they cant be used by the forces of chaos, there is even a trap that will incinerate the vault's contents with Meltas if it is tripped. Though very dangerous to have at all they have intelligence on daemons that can bring these powerful chaos entities to heel, or simply connot be destroyed by conventionel means. They can also be used to locate their soulbound users though this can work both ways and bring untold horrors to the Confederation if done wrong.

  • Tome of the Incantor- Oversized hardcover book that has hundreds of various spells and rituals in it, from its size it is rumored to have belonged to one of the Primarchs or was made for one of them. It allows the wielder to seal warp entities and close off the warp from a location. in the wrong hands it can summon daemons or rot an atmosphere with a thought.
  • Torngade- Daemon sword of Khorne that was taken from a chaos champion during the Sabbat worlds crusade by Sezrion, it is currently locked in stasis within the Vault of Madness. Within the blade is a powerful daemon of Khorne and any who wield the sword will quickly feel a pull to spill the blood of any nearby, be it friend or foe, and the daemon feeds of the souls of those killed by it. It is a glossy black metal Falchion with a curved blade made for slashing or chopping, a red daemonhide wrapped around the handle, a serrated edge for half of the blade on both sides while the back edge has serrations to the back of the point, in the middle of the crossguard is a bleed red jewel housing the daemon itself that awaits the next warrior to wield it.

Aerial & Ground Vehicles[]

The chapter is stocked with a plethora of Thunderhawks & ground vehicles like Rhinos & Predators as well as Dreadnoughts & Land Raiders though in a more limited supply for those. Some of this was the chapters to start with but by M42 they have had to raid supply depots and secluded caches across the galaxy to replenish what they have lost, the armoury world of Odun having been one of the bigger hauls they have come across. They refuse to use chaos equipment unless it is a dire emergency & must submit themselves to Iterator scrutiny for any chaos taint afterwards. Due to the chapters age they also have access to older and much more rare vehicles to initially fill their armoury like Xiphons Interceptors, Storm Eagles, and Stormbirds. Or their cherished Mastadons and Fellblades that were either gifted or salvaged from long forgotten battlefields and have done their best to preserve the ancient vehicles. They limit the use of these venerable but still deadly vehicles to the defense of their holdings, also any action that the Legio/Primus Centurii partake in can see the deployment of these powerful super heavy war machines.

  • St. Osemond (Land Raider Spartan): Relic from the Great Crusade that was passed down to the chapter at its founding. The sponson mounted quad Lascannons were replaced with quad Hell Cannons during the Onkar Crusade as a show of thanks by the Mauryan people, giving it much more versatile main weapon systems that can switch between anti armour and infantry instantly. The hull mounted back up weapons are twin linked Volkite Culverins flanking a heavy bolter, used to take out tank traps or road blockades as well as any infantry hiding behind them. It also has a pintle mounted Storm bolter and Frag Assault Launchers for close range firepower. Mostly used as the command tank for the Third Cohort.
  • Siege Hammer (Mastadon Transport): Venerable behemoth of a super heavy assault transport from the time of the Ultramarines Legions that has seen untold frontline actions even before it was gifted to the Paladins. Replaced its sponsons with twin linked Lascannons & a Plasma gun attached to each Heavy Flamer for more firepower after breaching. It is used as a command vehicle during sieges for the various Cohorts but only if a Legatus or the Kiseran himself go into the heat of a massive battle.

Chapter Fleet[]

Compared to a loyalist chapter their fleet is absolutely massive if combined in total, though it is split between four Cohorts and has rarely ever been in a single location at the same time. Many of these are not just the normal Astartes pattern ships like the Hunter-class or Nova-class escorts but are also refits of Imperial navy ships from Cobra-class Corvettes to Apocalypse-class Battleships. Overall they have around 100 Escort & Rapid Strike squadrons containing a few ships each, 52 Cruiser class warships, and 31 Capital Ships.

Non Cohort Warships[]

  • the Laeraethus (Galleas of War)- A massive 23km Galleas of War dating to the dawn of the Great Crusade or possibly even pre Imperial in origin, it is seen as the Flagship for the entire chapter and not just a single Cohort as it will deploy with other Cohorts besides the First. At its core it was based off of an ancient Battleship template stretched out in all directions and reinforced for the size, lacking the armoured prow found in later Imperial designs though still heavily armoured, giving it a profile that is ominously reminiscent of the ancient warship designs now only seen within chaos fleets. Instead of using larger broadside macrocannons to match its new scale, it opted for mounting far more of the normal size found on battleships. Designed mainly for long rage superiority, it carries a large amount of heavier lances and macrocannons to bring down capital ships at range along with launch bays and several other weapon systems to engage any type of enemy. To this end it has 12 heavy Godsbane lance turrets along the dorsal spine, heavy macrocannon batteries located on the port & starboard "wings" of the battleship as well as in the prow alongside torpedo tubes, and as the it's longest ranged weapon systems. At several times the length of most battleships the broadsides are split into 9 sections compared to a normal battleship's 3 with each side containing: twin banks of lance batteries overall containing 24 turrets for the 6 sections closest to the bridge, twin banks of ballistic & plasma based macrocannons for closer range fighting overall containing 24 cannons for the 3 sections closest to the prow, and a single row of launch bays across the bottom of the broadside sections. Multiple drop pod launchers and bombardment cannons were added to the warship during its time with the Ultramarines Legion. For defense it has the same ratio of extra shield generators as it does dorsal turrets compared to Imperial battleships and untold point defense turrets cover the warship to guard against every angle of attack from strike craft. It feeds all of this firepower & shielding with secondary reactors and an enlarged primary reactor, and all of these enhanced by the eccentric tech-priests of Xedator to keep the ample energy weapons running without cutting back on engine output. If it has to close to enemy vessels its full broadsides can and have ripped apart even Battleships, shields and all, with a single salvo. It is more than capable of slagging continents before unleashing an entire Cohort and their vehicles from its launch bays within a dozen minutes of settling into an orbit. It had been hiding within the Nuevoga system to protect its gene-seed & relic vaults, but as of 999.M41 is currently deployed for war again as the chapter has permanently moved its precious cargo to the planetary fortress of Ma'arra. It was last seen in Imperial space aiding the Hussars Sanguine when it helped push back the Churraba on Walcha, though rumored sightings of a behemoth capital ship being in the Ranian sector have surfaced.
  • the Ibeni Vindicta (Ironclad Battleship)- Ancient warship of unknown pattern or era of creation that was modified by the Inquisition to include advanced sensors and stealth systems plus powerful void shielding on top of the already massively thick armour plating, making it perfect for its intended use to carry out an Exterminatus even against massive defense fire if it cant just covertly sneak into orbit. It was one of several ships captured during the Iben Purge along with its ample cargo of various cyclonic torpedoes, very few of which have been used since. It spends its time alongside the Laeraethus as it constant defender. Its most infamous public use was the Exterminatus carried out to stop a massive daemonic infestation on the ice world of Kalt in the Krumore system during the Confederate-Krumore war, detonating the planets core and turning the planet into an asteroid belt. A more recent deployment was the Annihilation of Iben, where after several millennia the chapter finally took revenge for the loss of their original homeworld to the Inquisition and ended the planet's imprisonment, this warship delivered the planet breaking final shots to the death world.

First Cohort[]

  • the Pilum (Battle Barge)- Flagship of the First Cohort. It leads the largest concentration of warships in the chapter. Currently docked at the orbital yards above Pueblo being resupplied.
  • the Praetor (Battle Barge)- Since the Laeraethus has duties to the chapter as a whole and the Dory is used by the 1st Cohort this ship was added to the Kiseran's personal Centurii as its own transport.
  • the Wrath of Abba (Oberon-class Battleship)- It is the newest capital ship for the First Cohort fleet. Used as part of a reserve force of veterans to try and back up besieged paladins from any Cohort like how the Third Cohort is used. This warship was originally a large battleship found by a Pueblan allied rogue trader named Reza Aslan and sold to the chapter in late M41 and customized to equal a Battle Barge in most ways including having highly advanced void shields but also have the long ranged weapons of a heavy naval battleship like massed lance batteries for full void warfare.
  • the Pugio (Retribution-class Battleship)- Heavily armored & shielded warship meant to plow into an enemy fleet and blast away with its powerful broadsides & point defense batteries. Was part of the defense of Cadia along with several other warships also from the First Cohort as the flagship for the flotilla. Its location is currently unknown but was last reported leaving the Cadian gate area with an Imperial flotilla heading to a planet named Troii to regroup.
  • The Iben's Might (Strike Cruiser)- Used by Marcus Aurelian to transport the First Cohort 1st Centurii across the warp. Was part of the defense of Cadia along with several other warships also from the First Cohort. Its location is currently unknown but was last reported leaving the Cadian gate area with an Imperial flotilla heading to a planet named Troii to regroup.
  • the Permafrost (Strike Cruiser)- Named for the frozen Iben ground not located near the equator. Was part of the defense of Cadia along with several other warships also from the First Cohort. Its location is currently unknown but was last reported leaving the Cadian gate area with an Imperial flotilla heading to a planet named Troii to regroup.
  • the Obliviscaris (Vanguard Strike Cruiser)- This custom warship was created for the chapter by their advanced Mechanicum allies in the Pueblo Confederation in M38. It is modified hybrid of the MkI & MkII variants for the Vanguard light cruiser, having torpedo launchers & the standard macrocannons and launch bays as a normal MkI , along with a lance battery via a dorsal turret to put it closer to a normal Strike Cruiser in damage output without sacrificing its mobility or long range operational capabilities. Several of these modified cruisers were made for the Void Paladins and all are used by semi autonomous veteran formations, currently it is the personal transport of Sezrion & his elite phalanx. Besides several Thunderhawks & Storm Eagles as well as a Cestus Assault Ram, it has a few Rhinos & Predators, plus a Whirlwind & a Land Raider, as its overall astartes vehicle complement. A full legion of Rorarii also act as the voidship's personal armsmen and marines, including a light vehicle compliment and a few squadrons of ace fighter pilots who help defend the ship via their powerful Nuevoga pattern Quasar Starfighters.
  • the Cataegis (Vanguard Strike Cruiser)- Personal warship of Prefect-Decanus Chaad Barlott and his own elite phalanx of veterans. Like Sezrion's warship, it contains both torpedoes and a lance battery within an agile cruiser to better fight in ship to ship combat without escorts, as well as a full Rorarii legion to help defend it.
  • the Kotinos (Nova Frigte)- Escort vessel used by Magus Kaeso as his personal ship within the First Cohort fleet. Though he could request a larger ship he likes the smaller ship as its much harder of a target to hit compared to the ponderous battle barges or strike cruisers.

Second Cohort[]

  • the Gladius (Battle Barge)- Flagship of the Second Cohort.

Third Cohort[]

  • the Spatha (Battle Barge)- Flagship of the Third Cohort, deployed with the more veteran of the demi cohorts lead by the Legatus himself.
  • the Akinaka (Battle Barge)- The secondary flagship for the Third cohort, deployed with the Legio-Soluto as their own flagship.

Fourth Cohort[]

  • the Scutum (Battle Barge)- Flagship of the Fourth Cohort.

Allies[]

Cacharodons[]

Surprisingly these mysterious loyalists have allied with the Renegade chapter following the brutal repelling of an ork WAAAGH in both Imperial & Confederate spaces, eventually culminating with the Battle of Onkore where the greenskins were finally destroyed. Since that campaign the Cacharodons are allowed to dock and trade within the Confederation at certain ports, provided they check in with the Void Paladins personally first.

Craftworld Athirlyn[]

Aeldari in command during the invasion of Putamn. Their leader, Farseer Elowel Fithrann, is responsible for showing Abba the visions of the Emperor in an attempt to forge an alliance with the Imperium, but instead got the Void Paladins ambushed by the Inquisition and forced to abandon their homeworld. While escaping the inquisition the Athirlyn seers combined their powers to cloak the paladins fleet which is the only way that Pueblo was kept safe from the searching Inquisition. When a group of Seers from their Craftworld were captured to be used as fuel for daemon summoning the Void paladins stepped in to save them, causing the Genao Massacre against Imperial citizens.

Emperor's Liberators Armorial

Armorial of the Emperor's Liberators

Emperor's Liberators[]

Astartes chapter based off the teachings of Old Merica. They both fought the Tau and later the Drukhari around the Eastern Fringe. To this day they consider them renegade brothers in arms. This mutual alliance will be badly needed for the Emperor's Liberators in due time, as the space around a weakened Battlement is facing constant raids by the Dark Eldar, Red Corsairs, and Ork Freebooterz. Worse still is the potential threat of retribution from the Ordo Hereticus, who consider both chapters heretical and worthy of nothing less than a full purge. Though the Liberators and Paladins are now allies, they now share the same enemies too...

Hussars Sanguine Armorial

Armorial of the Hussars Sanguine

Hussars Sanguine[]

This Blood Angels successor chapter commanded the first Crusade the Paladins fought in, as well as several other times prior to the Iben Purge. Contact has been very limited since but their are secret blood oaths between the chapters dating to the Idolater Crusades. During the xenos lead Walcha Uprising that threatened to swallow the Hussar's home world they invoked this oath and the Void Paladins came in force to crush the uprising, reinforcing the Iron Myrmidons who had responded to the planets initial distress calls and had been fighting on the planet since before the Great Rift tore the galaxy in half.

IM Armorial

Armorial of the Iron Myrmidons

Iron Myrmidons[]

This heavily Mechanicus allied successor chapter of the Imperial Fists was founded during the same founding and fought alongside the Void Paladins for much of their history until the Paladins went renegade. The chapter even mobilized to help defend Iben but Abba sent a message stating for them to not damn themselves to the Inquisition. They still have secret channels for when they want to engage in diplomacy or the trading of information, their most common interaction.

Praetorians of Blood[]

Part of the alliance formed after the conclusion of the Idolater Crusades, they kept close ties with the Void Paladins even after they were declared heretics and renegades. When the news of their desruction at Katon reached Pueblo the chapter mourned them heavily, holding a service where their archivists brought forth the entire recorded history of the two chapters sharing a warzone from their creation to M41. Several relics tied to these battles were also brought forth, a handful of veterans taking them up in some way and swearing an oath to bring savage vengence tenfold to the Carmine Reavers.

PuebloConfederationFlag

Flag of the Pueblo Confederation

Pueblo Confederation[]

As the Void Paladins are an integral part of the government & military structure of this independent empire outside the Imperium, to call them simply allies would be n understatement. They are able to call upon potentially billions of baseline human soldiers in the form of the Pueblo Militarum and its naval components, and in turn many in the chapter assist in governing the empire or are part of the Centurii directly under the control of the Confederates.

Scholari Brotherhood[]

While currently allies, these renegade chapters have gone to war before when the Brotherhood learned of chaos tainted artifacts were being held by the Paladins. This sparked a short but brutal war as the warriors of the Brotherhood tried to breach the Void Paladin's fortress-Monastery of Ma'arra though the siege floundered as Confederate reinforcements kept arriving into the system. A truce was eventually called, the Paladins outright refused to even admit the existence of the vault and after recovering their dead and discarded vehicles the Brotherhood left the system. Since this war they have been able to remake an alliance as both combat chaos whenever possible, and with the Great Rift bringing daemonic incursions and other forces of chaos both chapters have begun to become even closer allies.

Tenebris Shades[]

While fighting the Cabal of Destiny a member of the Fallen named Moliten was captured by the Void Paladins. It is unknown what information or secrets were revealed to the Paladin's interrogators before a Tenebris Shades Cell found out. A small raid was made following a lead on Paladin deployments and an entire Cadre of Paladins was captured and taken back to Igora for interrogation. None of the Paladins broke and gave up the location of Pueblo before being executed. Eventually a trade was made with the gene-seed and bodies of the lost Cadre in return for Moliten who by this point was barely more than a shell of his former self as the Paladins had utilized forbidden, to loyalist chapters, psychic techniques that had broken him completely. The Tenebris Shades at first wanted to simply locate and destroy the renegade warband. Eventually they found out about several classified instances of them helping or outright saving Imperial citizens as well as military forces and decided to leave to not comit them to Exterminatus, at the same time they committed a Cell to locating their homeworld and it was successful. Grand Master Ozaris himself traveled to the system and had a face to face with Vikres, along with a black robed Inquisitor taller than an astartes in power armour that was already present within Ma'arra. Very few learned of what transpired with this meeting but to this day the Tenebris Shades have never divulged the location or existence of the Pueblo Confederation, also with Moliten was a transcript of his enitre confession and interrogations as well as assurance that all Paladins involved with Moliten would have their memories of him erased to keep secrecy of the incident secure.

"Umbra" & the League of Eagles[]

Very little is known of this powerful but shadowy individual, even his name is a code name. Assumed to be some kind of Inquisitional agent but he is sympathetic to the Void Paladins cause and helps them as an informant and middleman for Imperial equipment not able to be created on Pueblo. Unknown to all but the Kiseran and some of the Dominus he is actually one of the Eyes of the Emperor, former Custodes members that have either become to old or injured to do their job at 100%, and uses his immense power base to call on favors from all over the Imperium. He is the leader of a shadow network of others like him called the League of Eagles. The other Eagles have alliances with several other loyalist or renegade chapters, that are still loyal to the Emperor in some way, like Umbra does with the Void Paladins. Each contributes roughly a Thunderhawks worth of veterans for the covert actions done by the League and their patron Eagle.

Enemies[]

Angels Blade Armorial

Armorial of the Angels of the Blade

Angels of the Blade[]

While they were stalwart allies from the same founding and fought together many times, the Paladin's new view on the Imperial Creed and the Emperor's view of it has broken any chance of these former friends reconciling. The only possibility of that may be with the Tenebris shades, a successor chapter of the Angels of the Blade that was separately allied with the Renegade chapter, mediating some kind of truce.

Battleforged Armorial

Armorial of the Battleforged

Battleforged[]

Khornate warband that was part of the first major crusade the Void Paladins took part in, their savagery took a huge toll on the chapter and to this day they hate each other as the Void Paladins eventually held out and won the crusade.

Cabal Destiny Chaos Armorial

Armorial of the Cabal of Destiny

Cabal of Destiny[]

Chaos warband started by a splinter faction of chaos corrupted Void Paladins & Thousand sons Sorcerers, they are considered the main adversary to the chapter. Often they have tried insidious plans to undermine the Chapter with few outright wars as the Cabal's attention is often focused elsewhere.

Carmine Reavers[]

Even when the chapters were loyalists they held no brotherhood for the other, as the Carmine Reavers hated every chapter that was part of the alliance made after the Idolater Crusades. When the Void Paladins were declared a renegade chapter the Carmine Reavers were keen to test their might against them but their own slow fall to chaos distracted them from the hunt.

Dogs of Arrogance[]

This chaos warband of corsairs is a constant threat to both the Paladins and the Pueblo Confederation as a whole, the most recent large scale assault occurred in 999.M41 while the Fall of Cadia was happening.

Drukhari[]

Various raiders from these xenos have raided the systems for millennia but focused more so after the Paladins stepped in and seriously hampered the raids being done toward Battlement, even more so as the Athirlyn were able to get veteran Cadre into the Webway to combat them at the source.

Adeptus Ministorum Icon

Icon of the Ecclesiarchy

Ecclesiarchy[]

Due to their scorn of the imperial Creed the Void Paladins are very high on the kill list for the all powerful Adeptus Ministorum. According to intelligence gathered there is a large strikeforce that has been recreated with the sole purpose of wiping the paladins out once their new homeworld is found, the first incarnation was ambushed and destroyed on the planet of Odun.

300px-Inquisition

Icon of the Inquisition

Inquisition[]

The other part of the forces that took part in the Iben Purge to wipe out the Void Paladins. The Ordo Xenos wanted to know more about their connection to the Aeldari & the Ordo Hereticus wanted to make sure the Imperial Truth stayed hidden. To this day they occupy Iben and use it as an Armory ice world due to its backwater location & death world conditions. While the Ecclesiarchy still diligently hunts for the Paladins, the majority of the Inquisition has since transferred its attention elsewhere as the galaxy became increasingly congested by more powerful threats to the Imperium, though a Conclave descended from the Inquisitor that lead the Iben Purge still searches when they find leads of Paladin involvement at a warzone.

Kabal of the Broken Glass[]

While the Drukhari in general are a constant issue for Pueblo and the Void Paladins, this Kabal is a personal enemy of the Athirlyn and thus the Chapter as well. They sponsor most of the raids against the renegade chapter in an effort to undermine them and break their alliance with the Craftworlders.

Clan Empire of KaLokk[]

The Xenos empire of the Nawls upon their homeworld of KaLokk. This empire has long been enemies of the chapter ever since they adopted Pueblo as their new homeworld.

Palantine Vindicator Armorial

Armorial of the Palatine Vindicators

Palatine Vindicators[]

One of several chapters founded alongside the Void Paladins, they took their renegade status as a personal slight and have come to hate their former comrades. While the Void Paladins do not want to commit war against them they have been forced to fight them off several times since the loss of Iben.

Plague Ravens Armorial

Armorial of the Plague Ravens

Plague Ravens[]

The Plague Ravens have a seething hatred for the Void Paladins Space Marine Chapter for holding onto their loyalty to the Emperor, even with the Imperium hunting them as renegades. They have fought each other several times as the Plague Ravens have tried to spread their gifts in the Segmentum and the Pueblo Confederation in particular.

Solar Falcons Armorial

Armorial of the Solar Falcons

Solar Falcons[]

White Scars successor chapter that is known for worshiping the God-Emperor, they picked this trait up from fighting alongside the Black Templars for an entire crusade. Because of this belief, as well as a rivalry made during the Reign of Blood, they see the Void Paladins as heretics of the highest degree and have committed a sizable force to the Ecclesiarchy strikeforce meant to destroy the Void Paladins once and for all. They were also part of the Iben Purge, commiting 5 Households to the strike force. Also they have promised to commit their entire chapter if their homeworld was found. All of this is compounded by the Paladins having wiped out their entire 1st Household as well as the Lord-Castilian at the time, with all of this becoming public knowledge across the sector due to a live holo feed.

Tau Empire[]

The first battle between them was an accidental assault from a Tau fleet while they were fighting the Emperor's Liberators on the planet of Battlement. This ended in disaster for the Tau and caused the beginning of a long back and forth war of mostly void combat but the Tau have sent ground forces several times into Confederate systems to try and gain a foothold with little success. Their second major incursion hammered the Fay system and nearly tore it from the Pueblo Confederation, but the local population of the Tau held hives resisted the hard and hampered the Tau supply lines as well as killing targets of opportunity.

Zealot Scythes[]

While having only met once these chapters found themselves on opposite sides of a war and the renegade chapter was beset upon by the berserk loyalists. While the task force did accomplish it's mission the Scythes inflicted serious casualties and equipment damage before that happened.
