The Disciples of the Jagged Iron are a relentless and savage warband, bound by the dark powers of Chaos. Their twisted beliefs and unquenchable thirst for power have transformed them into nightmarish warriors, adorned in macabre, iron-clad armor and wielding weapons imbued with the very essence of the Warp. Led by a malevolent warlord whose name is whispered only in dread, this Chaos Warband seeks to plunge the galaxy further into turmoil, their motivations shrouded in secrecy.
At the heart of their sinister crusade lies a Fallen House, a noble lineage that once served the Imperium with honor and distinction. But as the taint of Chaos took root within their halls, they succumbed to corruption and betrayal, ultimately embracing the dark forces that promised them power beyond imagination. Now, their ancestral home is a twisted bastion of malevolence, and the Fallen House stands as a nightmarish testament to the insidious nature of Chaos.
History
Discovered during an Expedition started by the Forgeworld Mjorn, not much is known about the Disciples of Jagged Iron. What is known is that the Disciples are fully entrenched on the Frontier world in which the Expedition was based on. Chaos Knights of Khorne and the other Dark Gods have made major inroads into eliminating satellite bases Mjorn's Expedition and the conflict is growing as Mjorn pours resources into discovering what the Warband is protecting.
Warband Organisation
A mysterious and elusive figure, known only as the Unseen Warlord, leads the Disciples of the Jagged Iron. The true identity of this malevolent mastermind remains shrouded in darkness, masked by both psychic deception and technological subterfuge. Beneath the Unseen Warlord, a Council of the Forsworn oversees the strategic planning and decision-making processes. Comprising high-ranking Chaos Knights, Iron Warriors, and Word Bearers, this council ensures unity among the disparate forces within the warband.
The highest-ranking member of the Chaos Knight House holds the title of the Lord of the Cursed Throne. The Knights are organized into Dreadblade Cohorts, each commanded by a ruthless and ambitious Chaos Knight. These cohorts serve as the vanguard of the warband, delivering devastating firepower and overwhelming melee assaults. The largest development is the appearance of a Chaos Knight House in full unholy glory that has matched blades with Knight House Fásacha. It is clear that it is not some small court or rogue lance but a fully supported Daemon begotten house that supports the warband now known as the Disciples of the Jagged Iron. The Knight House and certain members of the upper echelon of this Warband have been identified as the Chosen of the Forsworn Silver.
Heretic Astartes descended from the Iron Warriors form the backbone of the Disciples' ground forces. Known as the Ironbound Legionnaires, they specialize in siege warfare, utilizing heavy weaponry and fortifications to break the enemy's defenses. Composed of corrupted Word Bearers, the Wordbound Zealots serve as both sorcerers and spiritual leaders within the warband. They channel the powers of Chaos, manipulating the Warp to sow confusion and terror among the enemy ranks. Cultists, known as Fleshthralls, form the bulk of the warband's infantry. These fanatical devotees are driven by a combination of fear and reverence for their chaotic overlords. Deployed in overwhelming numbers, they are used to overwhelm and distract the enemy. Cultists establish Darkway Stations on the surface, serving as makeshift outposts and staging areas. These stations facilitate rapid deployment for the Flying Columns, providing essential support for hit-and-run tactics.
Skilled sorcerers and daemonic engineers, known as the Twisted Artificers, work in tandem to create and maintain the warband's daemon engines and arcane war machines. They imbue these mechanical monstrosities with daemonic essence, ensuring their otherworldly efficacy on the battlefield. At the heart of the warband's operations lies the Unholy Nexus, a hidden stronghold where the Unseen Warlord resides. Gigantic statues of the Four Powers and the Machine God dominate this dark temple, serving as a focal point for the warband's twisted worship and unholy gatherings.
Combat Doctrine
At the core of the Disciples' combat doctrine is their mastery of siege warfare. Drawing from their presumed Iron Warriors heritage, they are experts in the construction of impregnable fortifications and the breaking of enemy defenses. The Disciples meticulously plan and execute prolonged sieges, often utilizing underground bases and concealed redoubts to shield their forces from enemy detection and to launch surprise assaults.
Daemon engines are a prominent and terrifying feature of the Disciples' arsenal. The Warband deploys these monstrous war machines with ruthless efficiency, using them to breach enemy fortifications, sow chaos on the battlefield, and strike terror into the hearts of their adversaries. These daemonic engines are often embedded with heavy weaponry and dark technologies, further enhancing their destructive potential.
The Disciples employ Raptor Cults and Dark Chaplains to create Flying Columns, which engage in hit-and-run tactics. These specialized forces, with an eerie mix of Word Bearers and Iron Warriors symbolism, strike swiftly at the heart of their enemies. Their goal is to disrupt enemy supply lines, sow discord, and weaken the resolve of their foes. The Warband leverages unusual coordination between these forces and their subterranean strongholds.
Thousands of devoted cultists flock to the surface to serve their malevolent masters, creating makeshift waystations and perpetually pressuring enemy lines. These mortal followers are often used as cannon fodder, shields for the Warband's more valuable assets, or as distractions to divert the attention of the enemy. The Disciples of the Jagged Iron are not above using these disposable masses to achieve their ends.
The Chaos Knight House, known as the "Chosen of the Forsworn Silver," plays a pivotal role in the Warband's combat doctrine. The demonic Knights march alongside the heretical forces, providing devastating firepower and formidable melee prowess.
The Disciples do not shy away from tapping into the dark powers of the Warp. Sorcerers and Psykers within the Warband channel the chaotic energies to manipulate the battlefield, summon daemonic reinforcements, and sow confusion among the enemy ranks. These twisted practitioners of the arcane are integral to the Warband's strategies, helping shape the course of battle to their advantage.
Warband Beliefs
The belief system of the Disciples of the Jagged Iron paints a stark and blasphemous picture of the universe, centered around the Elder Star Dragon, a deity of mechanical divinity who was once revered as the Dragon of Mars. Their perspective has been twisted by the allure of Chaos, leading them to view the Imperium's dominion over the Machine God as an unjust act of subjugation.
In the eyes of these heretics, the Blood God Khorne is seen as the true embodiment of the Elder Star Dragon's strength, a force that can be harnessed through sacrifice and unrelenting bloodlust. It is believed that by embracing these traits, their followers can gain access to the Dragon's ferocious might, furthering their unholy cause.
Nurgle, the lord of plagues and decay, symbolizes resilience and life unending to the Disciples. They view the suffering and torment that comes with embracing the sickness as a means of understanding the corruption and oppression they perceive the Imperium inflicting upon the universe. To them, Nurgle's path is a grim enlightenment, offering the potential for eternal existence even in the face of disease and despair.
Tzeentch, the changer of ways, is revered for the blessings of thought and planning that he bestows. The Disciples believe that these qualities are necessary to free the universe from the curse of stagnation imposed by the Imperium's oppressive rule. Tzeentch's powers are seen as a means to bring about the change and chaos required to break the shackles of the past.
Lastly, Slaanesh is believed to bless those who follow the path of passion with the sensations and physical attributes akin to the Eldar Star Dragon. The pursuit of excess and indulgence is seen as a gateway to becoming one with the essence of the divine dragon, a transmutation that transcends the boundaries of mortal existence.
The existence of a grand temple, featuring colossal statues of the Four Powers and the Machine God as equals, serves as a focal point for the worshipers of the Eldar Star Dragon. In the eyes of these Chaos Knights, Iron Warriors, Word Bearers, and their mortal devotees, there is no longer a distinction between them. They see themselves as integral components of the Eldar Star Dragon, and their grand temple stands as a blasphemous testament to their distorted faith, which seeks to overthrow the Imperium and replace it with their own twisted vision of the universe.

Warband Appearance
The Astartes of the Disciples of the Jagged Iron, known as the Ironbound Legionnaires, wear twisted and intimidating power armor. The armor is primarily silver, adorned with intricate purple trimmings and symbols representing the four Chaos Gods and the Machine God. The Chaos corruption has visibly mutated their armor, with tendrils of dark energy snaking across the surface. They wear helms with ominous, glowing eyes, adding an eerie and fearsome aspect to their presence. Ritualistic symbols and chaotic glyphs are etched into the surface of their armor, bearing testament to their devotion to the Eldar Star Dragon.
The mortal worshippers, known as the Fleshthrall Hordes, display a chaotic tapestry of bodies adorned in ragged, purple and silver robes. Their attire is a bizarre blend of scavenged Imperial uniforms and blasphemous symbols of Chaos.
The Chaos Knights of the Disciples, known as the Chosen of the Forsworn Silver, are a sight of unholy grandeur. Their once-noble Knight suits have been corrupted by the touch of Chaos, with silver and purple hues dominating their twisted and ornate armor. Daemonic sigils and the symbols of Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch, and Slaanesh intertwine seamlessly.
Warband Colours
The Disciples of the Jagged Iron bear the sinister colors of silver and purple. These hues, draped across their nightmarish armor, symbolize their allegiance to the dark powers of Chaos. The silver represents the cold, unyielding embrace of the Eldar Star Dragon, while the deep purple embodies the mystical and otherworldly energies they seek to harness.
Warband Badge
The Warband badge of the Disciples of the Jagged Iron is a blasphemous amalgamation of the symbols of Chaos Undivided and the Machine God. At its core lies a fractured, twisted depiction of the Eldar Star Dragon, symbolizing their dark deity of mechanical divinity. Surrounding this nightmarish icon are the four distinct symbols of the Chaos Gods, Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch, and Slaanesh, each intertwined with the cog and gear motifs associated with the Machine God. This emblem is proudly displayed on the warband's banners, armor, and vehicles, serving as a chilling herald of the chaotic unity they seek to impose upon the galaxy.
Warband Fleet
No Known fleet has matched the markings seen by the Mjorn Expedition to the Disciples of the Jagged Iron but they were discovered in the mostly unmapped wild spaces of the Ishtarian Fringe and have been discovered to have technology to hide from Imperial Sensors.
