- "Cadia stands with us, Brothers! We are unbreakable!"
- — Cassur Ramemnas, Siege Master of the Cadian Wall
The Cadian Wall are an Imperial Fists Successor Chapter formed during the Ultima Founding at the behest of Roboute Guilliman so that they may take part in the Indomitus Crusade. As steadfast and as hardy as their namesake, the Cadian Wall Chapter are true sons of Dorn.
Chapter History
The Cadian Wall Chapter is a relatively new Chapter founded during the Ultima Founding in 999.M41. Following Abaddon the Despoiler's 13th Black Crusade and the destruction of Cadia, many new Chapters were formed in response to the threat of the Cicatrix Maledictum and to take part in the following Indomitus Crusade. The Cadian Wall are one such Chapter.
Formed from Primaris Imperial Fist stock, every Cadian Wall battle-brother is a son of Dorn through and through. Masters of defensive battles, holding points of strategic importance beyond any reasonable amount of time, they are stubborn and will not be moved except as corpses.
The Cadian Wall Chapter have taken great inspiration from the Imperial Guard soldiers who held their planet against the foul servants of Chaos. Hearing of the bravery of the Guardsmen from survivors, the Cadian Wall Marines were impressed by the sheer grit and determination from these mortals, fighting on until the planet itself broke beneath them. In honour of these soldiers, and in memory of the Fortress-World, The Cadian Wall took on the name so that they may exact vengeance on those who broke Cadia.
Notable Campaigns
Indomitus Crusade (999.M41-111.M42)
- The Siege of Damascon (002.M42) - One of the first battles that The Cadian Wall Chapter took part in and one in which their brilliance as Sons of Dorn truly showed. When the Indomitus Crusade arrived at the world of Damascon, they found it overrun by the Hordes of Chaos and the Cadian Wall were deployed to reconquer it for the Imperium. Laying siege to the Hive city Damascon Prime, they used their superior knowledge of siege tactics to identify strategic weak-points along the Hive's walls through which they could break and drive the forces of the Archenemy from the planet. Unbeknownst to the Cadian Wall, the Warband in control of this planet were the Forgeborn, Traitor Marines with a burning hatred of all Sons of Dorn. Seeking to corrupt it and turn it into a new Daemon world for their own purposes, they had conquered it in the wake of the 13th Black Crusade. As if by fate, the sons of bitter rivals Rogal Dorn and Perturabo met on the field of battle as the walls of Damascon Prime crumbled around them. It was long and hard-fought, with mass casualties on both sides but eventually the Cadian Wall, with backup from the PDF of Damascon Prime, fought back the Traitors, driving them offworld.
Chapter Homeworld
Fortress-Monastery
The Fortress-Monastery of the Cadian Wall Chapter is named in honour of Kasr Kraf, the Imperial fortress-city that was the main point of resistance against the Despoiler's Black Crusade. The Chapter consider it the final bastion of Cadia, an enormous fortress built upon one of the remnants of Cadia, an asteroid found within the Cadian system as battles were fought throughout it to repel the forces of Chaos.
An enormous star-fort, the Kraf Bastion is built into the asteroid, forming a Fortress-Monastery for the Chapter as well as a miniature Hive City that all former citizens of Cadia are welcome to live in, providing a home for them as well as a suitable supply of Aspirants for Chapter Recruitment and a steady stream of menials to serve the Marines and crew their fleet.
Chapter Organisation
Officer Ranks
- Siege Master- The Chapter Master of The Cadian Wall. Currently held by Cassur Rememnas, this has proven to be a gruelling position even in The Cadian Wall Chapter's short history and so has come to be respected as the turning point of any battle in which he fights. The Siege Master is seen as the final word on any battle plans brought before him and can be the only one upon which the siege breaks or fortresses falter.

The badge of the Cadian Wall is very appropriate for sons of Dorn. It shows two towers with a stretch of wall between them, black on an khaki field.
