"Listen closely Brothers, for my life's breath is all but spent. There shall come a time far from now when our Chapter itself is dying, even as I am now dying, and our foes shall gather to destroy us. Then my children, I shall listen for your call in whatever realm of death holds me, and come I shall, no matter what the laws of life and death forbid. At the end I will be there. For the final battle. For the Wolftime."
— Purported last words of Leman Russ, Primarch of the Space Wolves

The Blood Seekers is a Loyalist Successor Chapter comprised entirely of Primaris Space Marines, created from the lineage of the Space Wolves Chapter and raised during the Ultima Founding of 999.M41. The Blood Seekers were created after the end of the Indomitus Crusade by the new acting Lord Commander of the Imperium, Roboute Guilliman, from the ranks of his Unnumbered Sons.

The Blood Seekers were tasked with seeking and destroying daemon host within Segmentum Tempestus and Segmentum Ultima; that had overrun Imperial Army and Naval Assets in the region. With their formed as brutish shock troops, with a strict deployment to locate and destroy heavy positions of daemonic hordes. However, the Blood Seekers took a specific approach to focus their efforts to hunt the various cults of the Thousand Sons that ran rampant in the two Segmentum.

Currently, the Blood Seekers operate pursuit operations against the Cult of Duplicity and the Cult of Manipulation near Maccrage and Bakka, respectfully. The Chapter's reserve and shock companies support various Imperial organizations in the two Segmentum. From inception, the Chapter's 2nd and 3rd Companies have aided the Adeptus Custodes and Silent Sisterhood in repealing Thousand Sons attacks, with the remaining bulk of the Chapter serving various Imperial Guard Regiments and Astartes Chapters in order to continue their gene-father's eternal hunt of the Red-Cyclops.

History[]

Birth of Hunters[]

"With shock and awe we splinter against the greatest foes of our life time. With sweat and blood, we drive our will into the hearts of our enemies. For with annihilation nearing our very existence, we strive to bring the tainted along with us."
— Mikol the Half-Burned, Chapter Master of the Blood Seekers
Roboute Guilliman, Primarch of the Ultramarines Legion, and Lord of Ultramar

Roboute Guilliman, Primarch of the Ultramarines Legion, and Lord of Ultramar

The scattered Space Marine Chapters of the galaxy have been bled dry by ten thousand standard years of constant battle. From world to world, the daemon infested warp ripped across the Imperium, creating a Great Rift that split the Imperium of Mankind. With storms that swallowed entire systems, the beleaguered defenders of the Imperium wavered against the tide of the heretic, the traitor, and the xenos.

With the Resurrection of the Avenging Son, Primarch Roboute Guilliman, the Ultima Founding dawned on the exhausted Imperium. The Primaris Space Marines were released and deployed as the saviors of depleted Chapters and besieged worlds. These new warriors are the next step in the evolution of the Emperor's Angels of Death. From Mars to all across the forges of the Omnissiah, the Children of the Machine God worked to bolster the counter to the foes of Chaos. Entire systems burned bright with the red light of fire from their most holy forges.

Entire Chapters were forged by the roaring conveyors of Mars. One of these was the Blood Seekers Chapter. Born from gene-seed of the Space Wolves, the Blood Seekers were poised for battle from their inception. The Blood Seekers were sent to the galactic south, with their purpose being the preservation of Holy Terra's dominion of Segmentum Tempestus against daemonic hordes and petulant Heretical Astartes. With shell and blade, the Blood Seekers were deployed with various Imperial guard formations to bolster the counter-attack against Chaos. The Praenomen served valiantly, with their aid lifting the Siege of Arthes (999.M41), the home world of the Wild Hunters Chapter.

Hunt of the Impure[]

Since the founding of the Blood Seekers, the Chapter has remained active as the Sons of Russ across many worlds and systems. Their stubborn command has led great victories throughout Segmentum Tempestus, from the Incursion of the Ironax Sub-Sector (999.M41) to the Wrath of Sons (999.M41), the Chapter has battled itself bloody time and time again; gaining an unhealthy reputation for their stubborn and defiant nature against their allies and foes.

Orks of Waagh! Kraktoof

Orks of Waagh! Kraktoof

With their successive victories in Segmentum Tempestus, the Chapter gained praise and renowned by Imperial command, who sent the Chapter on its first true united effort. The Blood Seekers were dispatched to Segmentum Ultima to combat the destructive invasions of the Lorphax sub-sector. Under the Battle Fleet, Father's Hilt, the Blood Seekers found themselves in a three-front conflict. On the world of Lorphax Major and the agriworld Starya, the Imperial Guard regiments of the Carmissian Reds found themselves besieged by Ork tribes from Waagh! Kraktoof.

From the rolling hills of Lorphax Major to the industrial mono-culture fields of Starya, Ork bands ravaged gripped the world. But the threat itself was not the Blood Seekers objective, for the malignant gaze of Chaos had surged onto the system, infecting both Ork and Imperial Guardsmen. For the Death Guard's 5th Company at turned its petulance onto the system, with the Imperial outpost of Lara collapsing under intense might.

The Blood Seekers arrived in the sub-sector, its fleet smashing through outlying defenses including the Death Guards fortifications on Lara. The war itself shaped the Chapter, with the most notable battles of the Olgian Pass and the Grave of Sorrows rising Praenomen to the status of Chapter Renowned. From Lord Magnate Virgid Svajone the "Axe-Handed" to Nomen Mikol the "Half-Burnt", the battle itself redefined the Chapter's purpose.

Thousand Sons Sorcerer Khrove Takar

Thousand Sons Sorcerer Khrove Takar

For the invasion of the Death Guard only brought more destruction. For the daemons of Tzeentch, aided by mysterious cults of the Thousand Sons, found themselves onto the moon of Lara through the cosmic rift. With a surge of screamers and flamers, the Blood Seekers fought valiantly with every praenomen slain taking more daemons than one could bare to count. Yet, the surge was not halted by mere bolter or plasma.

As the 3rd Great Company, under Lord Magnate Einarr Velikoye, held back the Death Guard and the 2nd Great Company, under Virgid the Axe-Handed, fended off the Daemonic hordes of Tzeentch, Chapter Master Mikol Longfren led his honor guard, the Baltai, against the Thousand Sons sorcerer who had opened the rift, Khrove Takar. The Battle of Wolf and Witch lasted nearly twenty standard Terran Hours, with much of the Baltai sacrificing themselves along side their Chapter Master. The battle only ended when Mikol decapitated Takar, not before Takar burned half of Mikol's face in warp fire.

From the destructive campaign of the Lorphax sub-sector, the Blood Seekers set out to destroy their historic enemy. As Sons of Russ, it was their duty, their right to purge the material world of the sorcerer. For Mikol the Half-Burnt, the Blood Seekers would bring ultimate destruction upon the Cults of the Thousand Sons, hunting them across Tempestus and Ultima till they were cornered and brought to ruin.

Homeworld[]

Vakuridan[]

Departmento Cartographicae pict-file of Vakuridan, Chapter homeworld of the Blood Seekers.

Departmento Cartographicae pict-file of Vakuridan, Chapter homeworld of the Blood Seekers.

The world of Vakuridan is civilized ice world located in the galactic south of Segmentum Tempestus. The world itself is located in a system of three worlds, each of which are outside the system's natural habitual zone. Across the world of Vakuridan, large glaciers span much of the northern continents. The habitual human cities live along the equator, with large sprawling fortresses that protect the underground merchant and noble cities under the earth.

Biosphere[]

Vakuridian is approximately 131 million miles from its home star. The world is divided into six large landmasses, with the total land area being 17.2 million square miles. The once proud oceans of Vakuridian now lay in complete ice, with the two north most continents, Lech and Krakus, being almost completely covered in the glacier sheet known as The Olden Wall. Most human settlements reside along the equator of the world, with average temperatures ranging from -51.2°C to −89.2 °C.

The natural wildlife resides mostly concentrated along the equator, however, during the warmer seasons, migration to the south pole of Vakuridian occurs. The terrestrial and native species appear to be the descendants of ancestors who lived in warmed environments before the ice age began. Krill and phytoplankton remain as the bedrock of the ecosystem, with primary, secondary, and tertiary producers and consumers creating a balanced ecosystem that provides for the human settles.

Over 750 different species of fungi and moss have been recorded on the world, with the fungi population providing the majority of the planets oxygen and food supply through cultivation on the most settled continent of Lestek Minor.

Culture[]

The human settlements of Vakuridian live in state similar to the early 17th century of old Terra. The habitats of the world live in vast under ground cities, each one carved from bygone mines that were repurposed by noble houses and merchant clans. The largest cities are situated on Lestek Minor, the highest elevated and direst continent on Vakuridian. Each settlement is ruled over by a Magnate, an elective position from noble families called Ducals. The Magnate overseas the various Ducals, who operate a important duty for the survival of the underground city state: trade, military, and agriculture. The most powerful Magnate is that of Plast, an hereditary potion equal to the rank of Planetary Governor. The Plast oversees the great agricultural production of moss foundries and the collection of tithes for the Administratum. The current Plast is Vostosk Mikahi, who resides in the largest settlement of Masovia.

The settlements of Vakuridian are divided into nine great clans. These clans claim hereditary title over the historic lands of Vakuridian and its settlements, from its windless waste to its massive hunting fortresses of the Olden Wall. The way in which these clans formed was not from the original governors or leaders of the world, but from free warriors and mercenaries that once popularized early Vakurdian warfare.

During the early period, Rulers often hired these free warriors and mercenaries to form military units called Druyz, as standing armies were impossible to maintain. Eventually, during the time of Imperium's arrival, the society developed into a form of feudalism. These warriors became landed lords for their service against other settlements, with powerful Plast granting land to many. These warriors soon rose in society over the centuries, with many Ducal families being born from the new class of nobility.

Fortress-Monastery[]

The Blood Seekers Fortress Monastery is the old mines of the mountain Vanaheim. This massively constructed stronghold serves as the Chapter's home on the icy world. Upon the center of the vast plateau of the northern polar continent of Krakus, there is a range of glaciers whose peaks are said to rise above the atmosphere. Their crest break through the Olden Wall, with shards of glacier ice peering to the sky. The tallest of all lies in the very middle of the range of broken ice, dwarfing its fellows in sheer size. This peak is Vanaheim.

Notable Campaigns[]

The Wrath of Sons (999.M41)[]

Upon the Lorphax sub-sector, the might of the Imperium beats loudly against Greenskin and Diseased hordes. The Wrath of Sons was the first military engagement of the Blood Seekers as a Chapter, with the Chapter itself supporting the beleaguered Imperial Defenders against Greenskin hordes that descend into madness as the servants of Nurgle and Tzeentchian daemons collide in bloodshed.

The Wrath of Sons began after the Great Rift tore through Imperial Space. Orks of Waagh! Kraktoof assaulted the vital worlds of the Lorphax sub-sector. To halt their advancing tide of the Waagh!, the heavy infantry regiments of Carmissian Reds were deployed onto the Hive world of Lorphax Major and the largest moon of Ita Senta. During the battle, the Carmissian Reds destroyed Orkish settlements and secured the northern hive cities of Lorphax Major.

However, as the Greenskin raids increased, troubling reports recorded red boils and blisters growing on the Greenskins. The 21st Carmissian Regiment reported vast numbers of Guardsmen succumbing to a similar infection, with the regiment being isolated as a general withdrawal was announced.

During the Flight of Mangisa, it was said the smell of death filled the very air. From obit, tainted and twist works of steel and flesh arrived in system. The gun decks fired upon the Imperial vessels, ripping escort and transport craft to pieces as swarms of enemy gunships moved towards the fleet. The command ship of the Carmissian Reds deployment, the Mother's Rest, was destroyed, its engines imploding as Heretic Astartes of the Death Guard's 5th company surged through its bowels, killing and slaughtering all inside its hull.

Upon word of the Death Guards arrival in system, word reached the Nomen of the Blood Seekers, Mikol Longfren. By might and power of the Imperium, the Blood Seekers Battle Fleet, Fathers Hilt, arrived on the outskirts of the Lorphax sub-sector. Just as the fleet arrived, strafing fire began as Death Guard outpost on the minor moon of Lara opened fire upon the fleet. Mikol and his honor guard, the Baltai, led a personal strike against the moon, with the 2nd company under Lord Magnate Virgid Svajone, supporting the attack as Death Guard reinforcements deployed on the moon's basin to clash with the 1st Great Company.

The seas of Lara boiled in blood, with fervent close quarters combat surging on the Death Guard positions. From the Battle of the Olgian Pass, the savage nature of the Blood Seekers clashed with petulant disgusting foes of Nurgle. Virgid Svajone personally led the assault, with his assault troops of the Aelfwynn bolstering Nomen Mikol as a great warp rift erupted onto the moon. From its tendrils, Chaotic warp spawn surged forth, slamming into both the Death Guard and the Blood Seekers. The daemons of Tzeentch arrived, theorized to be brought to slow the growth of Nurgle's material domain.

The Purge of Krachordia (Unknown.M42)[]

Chaos Spawn on the world of Krachordia

Chaos Spawn on the world of Krachordia

Upon a Ogryn homeworld known as Krachordia, Imperial Guard fleets arrived to discover a world that been completely overrun with hulking Chaos Spawns. The native population of Ogryn tribes had vanished, with their settlements and tribal sights abandoned or decaying as Spawns from the Warp ravaged the great jungles of the world. The Imperial Guard had deployed the Atian Guardians mixed-arms regiments to the world in order to repeal the chaotic threat and locate the remains of the Ogryn tribes.

A Chaos Spawn of Tzeentch

Upon landing in the largest of the tribal settlements, Gia, the surge of Warp Spawn assaulted Imperial Lines. Within six hours following the Landing of Gia, the 2nd Mechanized Regiment and 13th Infantry Regiment were cut off from orbital reinforcements and ground command, leaving the army group in utter confusion. The Imperial Forces continued to commit themselves, however, as the tide seemed to turn, during the Battle of the River Ovia, Imperial forces located a mysterious shrine built by the Ogryn tribes. Upon investigation the Atian 7th Infantry regiment discovered a undulating sac that shifted colors and hues. Upon discovery, the skies erupted in fury as fiery comets descended from the sky.

The Blood Seekers Battle Fleet Father's Hilt, under Chapter Master Mikol the Half-Burnt, had arrived in system, ignoring Imperial Army Command and bypassing the Imperial naval assets that surrounded the world. Upon arrival, the drop pods of the Chapter landed in the heart of the Chaotic horde that assaulted the river banks along the Ovia. Flame and bolter shells shattered the Chaotic lines, with squads of marines surging towards the Warp Spawn in their Primarch's Fury.

Following the First Assault, thunderhawk gunships followed behind the assault squads, bringing the companies devastator and aggressor squads into the assault. It is said that Nomen Mikol had arrived with his brothers, but instead of joining the counter-attack against Chaos, he met with Captain Tsane Hakurisovy of the Atian 7th Regiment's "Free-Hand" Shock Squadron who had discovered the sac. All records pertaining to the meeting were sealed and declared forbidden. However, it is rumored Mikol turned his honor guard, the Baltai, against Captian Hakurisovy and his squad before departing the world. The sac was never recovered by Imperial army contingents following the Purge.

The Einarr Campaign (999.M41-Unknown.M42)[]

Following the disastrous engagements during the Wrath of Sons (999.M41), the Blood Seekers Battle Group, Accolade, under Einarr Velikoye, Lord Magnate of the 3rd Great Company, was formed. Under Einaar Velikoye, the Blood Seekers, with the remains of the Carmissian Reds, began a interstellar campaign against the heretical forces of the Death Guard in Segmentum Tempestus.

From the Sirens Storm to Bane's Landing, Einarr had surged the might of the Blood Seekers against the forces of the Plague God. With Imperial forces still committed against the Death Guard in the Lorphax Sub-Sector, Einarr disengaged his main forces to focus on the nearby 4th Plague Company that threatened the worlds near the Tallarn and Nocturne Systems. With the fall of the Shrine World of Calendhula, the Blood Seekers, with their Carmissian allies, landed upon the hive world of Caltha. Einarr led the assault personally, making land fall upon the hive city of Palutis as plague marines bombarded the remaining PDF Garrison.

From the onset of the relief effort, artillery from both ground emplacement and air strafed the Blood Seekers initial invasion force. The Battle of Palutis was a vital one for the world of Caltha, as if the city feel the Imperial foot hold on the world would be swept aside. Einarr understood this and operated with complete control over each aspect of the invasion. The 1st wave of Bagor Tenets landed near the North-West Spire of the hive, with marines of the Lou Leto surging into the heart of the demonic horde as the Asorlin Aggressor squads dropped directly onto the attackers with thunderhawk gunships leading the air campaign. From room to room, the Bagor pushed the malignant growth of the Guard down the spire, with Einarr and his Skald landing in the upperhive to support Captain Titus Rebae of the remaining PDF force. With the Skald, Einarr pushed the Death Guard from the main sanctum, with the Bagor from the upper spires regrouping with Einarr near the Administratium office block.

The battle of Paltuis continues to rage, but with famed victory in the Battle of the Pipeyard and the South-East Spire, the Blood Seekers continue their campaign to free the city from Chaotic taint.

Chapter Organization[]

The Wolf's Lineage[]

The Blood Seekers, like their parent chapter, are known for their fiercely anti-authoritarian behavior. They strongly resist the central command structure of the Imperium, organizing themselves into Tenets instead of the normal Squads and continue to refuse the dictates of the Codex Astartes. The Blood Seekers only accept some standard Imperial tactics that were considered useful for their own preferred style of warfare. As such, they have a reputation for being as ill-disciplined as they are fearless.

The Tenet of Vakuridan[]

  • Praenomen- Blood Seekers equivalent to Battle Brother.
  • Bagor- A Bagor is the first rank of a Praenomen. Bagors are notoriously savage and fiercely aggressive. These young warriors cannot wait to prove themselves in combat, charging into the front lines of the enemy. The Bagor are skilled and tested in close quarters combat, with each Praenomen armed with melee weapons such as Chainswords and Bolt Pistols. The Bagor serve as the foremost shock troops of the Chapter and spearhead the majority of assaults. If they survive to become mature and capable warriors, they will eventually be elevated to the veteran ranks of Lexander.
Space Wolves Primaris Aggressor in battle

    • Leto- The Leto are a subset of the Bagor. The Leto are culled from the ranks of the Bagor when the Chapter needs a swift, hard-hitting assault force comprised of Bike Squads or Land Speeders.
    • Lou Leto- The Lou Leto are a subset of Bagor. This specialist unit is composed of the most headstrong troublemakers from each Great Company and are often "rewarded" by reassignment to a Lou Leto Tenet and thus serve as the Chapter's equivalent of Assault Marines.
  • Lexander- If a Bagor survives long enough to mature into seasoned Astartes, they are promoted to the ranks of the Lexander. These veteran Astartes are the equivalent of a Codex Astartes-compliant Chapter's Tactical Marines.
Space Wolves Primaris Inceptor in battle

Space Wolves Primaris Inceptor in battle

    • Asorlin- The Asorlin are a subset of Lexander. The Asorlin are a form of veteran warriors. These veteran warriors are disciplined and steady even in the heat of battle, and hence entrusted with the Great Company's heavy weapons. They are the equivalent of a Codex Astartes-compliant Chapter's Devastator and Aggressor Marines.
  • Levy- For some Space Wolves Astartes, the close-knit and boisterous brotherhood of the Tenet is not well suited to their personality, as they yearn for the open spaces and isolation. These Space Marines are selected to become part of a Great Company's Levy force, providing reconnaissance and disrupting enemy movements. These Space Marines are often already Veterans, as opposed to the raw Neophytes commonly used in other Chapters' Scout Marines Squads.

Specialist Ranks[]

  • Nomen- The Nomen is the Blood Seekers' equivalent of a Chapter Master. The Nomen is generally
    A Techmarine

    A Techmarine

considered only a steward of the Chapter, with the Nomen actively dividing power and responsibility among the Lord Magnates. However, when requested, the Nomen may assume all power within the Chapter.
  • Lord Magnate- A Lord Magnate is the officer equivalent of a standard Space Marine Captain and who commands one of the companies that comprise the Chapter's military force. A Lord Magnate may be accompanied by a contingent of Skald, who are specifically loyal to him. The Chapter's 11 Great Companies are led by the current Lord Magnates, a number that includes the current Nomen, Mikol the Half-Burnt. Much of the time the attrition rate for Lord Magnate is fairly significant because of the Chapter's preference for close combat.
  • Finka- The Finka are the Chapter's equivalent of Techmarines. Sent off for training to Mars with the Adeptus Mechanicus like all Techmarines, the Finka maintain the Chapter's equipment and forge all necessary replacement wargear. Finka are traditionally attached to the 1st Great Company and re-assigned to other fighting forces on a situational basis.
A Redemptor Dreadnought of the Ultramarines

A Redemptor Dreadnought of the Ultramarines

  • Mira- The Mira are a unique officer class within the Chapter. A combination of the roles of Chaplain and Apothecary found in Codex-compliant Chapters, the Mira administer to the physical and mental well-being of the Chapter's warriors and also choose the Aspirants to the Chapter from among the Clans of Vakuridan.
  • Seaxena- The Blood Seekers, like other Space Wolves' successors, do not have Librarians as such because of their great abhorrence of psychic abilities, which they equate with foul sorcery from their ancestral foes; instead the Chapter maintains a number of Seaxena, who are potent psykers. The Seaxena examine the minds of all Aspirants to the Chapter for any sign of Chaotic taint or treachery. The Seaxena are equipped differently than normal Chapter Librarians, yet are not outright trusted by their own Chapter, with their numbers limited based on situational need. Overall, the Seaxena are isolated within the 1st Great Company, commanded and oversaw only by the Ducal Seaxena, Casimar Kestut.
  • Cometesse- The Cometesse is the Blood Seekers name for their Redemptor Dreadnoughts. Designed by the Archmagos Belisarius Cawl at the behest of Primarch Roboute Guilliman many centuries ago, the mighty Redemptor Dreadnoughts have only recently been unleashed against the Imperium's foes. Given motion by a fallen battle-brother, Redemptors are swift and utterly lethal. Adversaries are shredded apart by a monstrous heavy Gatling cannon, while the starburst power of a macro plasma incinerator makes short work of enemy Armour and vehicles.

Specialist Units[]

  • Baltai- Some Blood Seekers, having achieved feats of exceptional valor and martial prowess, may become members of the Chapter's honor guard, the Baltai. These mighty Astartes can lead smaller forces of Space Wolves drawn from other companies, yet normally serve as the Chapter's version of an Honor Guard. Only the most experienced warrior is a deployed along their Nomen, with their force serving against their foes. Members of the Baltai can be bestowed command position, imparting their knowledge and experience to their younger members of the Chapter and serving as the equivalent of standard Space Marine Sergeants.
  • Skald- Like the Baltai, the Skald are the honor guard of the individual Lord Magnates, with each of their guards being made up of the most experienced and veteran members of each company.

Non-Astartes Personnel[]

Like all Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes, the Blood Seekers maintain a sizable army of human support staff and specialists who keep the Chapter running when most Battle Brothers are on crusade.

Generally referred to as "Bondsmen," the Blood Seekers' Chapter Serfs crew the Chapter's warships, man the defenses of the home world, provide medicae staff, repair crews and all the various types of labor that allow the Chapter's warriors to travel and fight the Emperor's many foes.

  • Vel- The Vel make up the majority of the Chapter's serfs and include the many mono-tasked Servitors used by the Mira.
  • Keya- The Keya are the armed serfs charged with the defense of the Chapter's vessels, outpost, and holdings.
  • Cognomen- The field officers of the Keya.
  • Agnomen- The senior officers of the Keya, each Agnomen commands a force of seven hundred Keyas.
  • Bartoz- The mortal commanders of the Blood Seekers' void vessels are known as Ship Masters, charged with commanding the Chapter's warships in the absence of the Blood Seekers themselves.
  • Pacta- The Astropaths in service to the Chapter.
  • Kozlence- Like all Imperial Warp-capable void vessels, the Blood Seekers' starships require Navigators to travel the tides of the Warp. The Blood Seekers receive navigators from House Dorel.

Combat Doctrine[]

Weapons and Wargear of the Blood Seekers

Weapons and Wargear of the Blood Seekers

The forces of the Blood Seekers have a very different approach to martial strategy from their brother Space Marines. There are several distinct types of squad, or Tenet, in each Great Company, and each fulfills a different role in battle. As a Seeker progresses through his life, he may rise through the ranks until he is old. If his bravery and might are without question, he will be asked to join the Skald, or even become part of the Baltai.

Most Space Wolves begin their careers as Bagors, hot-headed young warriors who cannot wait to prove themselves, charging in howling Tenets at the front lines of the enemy in their efforts to garner personal glory. The Bagor are the shock troops of the Space Wolves and spearhead the majority of assaults. If they survive to become mature and capable warriors, they will be elevated to the ranks of the Lexander, tempered by battle but nonetheless to give their lives in the name of honor.

The bravest and strongest of the Blood Seekers, after proving themselves in a feat of exceptional valor or martial prowess, may become Salk. The Salk either lead less experienced Tenets of warriors into battle, or form a retinue for the mightiest warriors of the battle force, the Nomen. Few can stand against these heroic warriors, equipped as they are with the best wargear in the Great Company's armoury, making them virtually unstoppable in close combat.

Chapter Gene-Seed[]

A pack of feral Wulfen attack their terrified foes

A pack of feral Wulfen attack their terrified foes

Like all who bare the gene-seed of the Space Wolves, the Blood Seekers suffer from a flaw in their gene-seed found in the Canis Helix gene sequence, the genetic catalyst which every Aspirant. This flaw often leads them to take on many canine traits as they continue to age, such as enlarged canine teeth, yellow eyes and abnormal growths of hair.

Unfortunately, in some, the mutation proceeds too far and transforms them during the heat and passion of battle into more bestial, wolf-like humanoids. These Space Marines are said to bear the "Mark of the Wulfen" by the other members of the Chapter because they grow elongated canine teeth and bestial claws as if they were the wolves of Fenris.

The only time that the Blood Seekers turn into fully wolf-like humanoid mutants called the Wulfen is when they are exposed to large amounts of Warp energy. During the Wrath of Sons (999.M41), ten cases were noted. Each Astartes came from different Tenets, but as the warp rift expanded and daemons surged forth, the Tenets effected were the ones first hit by the shock attack.

Space Marines who fully mutate into Wulfen bare The "Mark", which normally manifests itself in the twisted deformed beast. The cases noted by the Blood Seekers were sorrowfully gunned down by their fellow Praenomen.

Chapter Beliefs[]

The Blood Seekers, despite being from the linage of the Space Wolves, are perhaps a cross breed of Imperial value and defiance. While maintaining the stubbornness that its parent Chapter is renowned for, the Blood Seekers are raised from a humble and religious people. A world marked with ice and snow, the settlements of Vakuridan have a proud history of religious celebration and holiday. During the summer months, with day late long and bountiful, the people of the world celebrate several important dates a year, which made a translation into the chapter itself.

From rites upon death to daily squabble, the Blood Seekers hold dear the traditional tales of their home world. From great beast to rising prophets in the name of the Emperor, the Blood Seekers beliefs and culture have no only defined themselves, but brought them into some conflict with the Ecclesiarchy and Inquistion.

During their short existence, the Blood Seekers have shown defiant nature like their parent Chapter, remaining independent largely in their deployment and involvement. Surrounding its Chapter, beliefs and rumors of unholy prospect surround not just the Tenets, but even the Nomen, Mikol the Half-Burnt, who some say will bring his chapter for ruin by crossing the cyclopes.

Chapter Fleet[]

The main crux of the Blood Seekers military might comes from its Chapter Fleet. Formed from the bastion fleets of several sectors of Segmentum Tempestus, the Blood Seeker fleet, by its very nature, is extensive in operational capacity. From some of the proudest fleets in the galactic south, the Blood Seekers fleet is forced to exist in a state of near-perpetual warfare against the frequent Chaos raiders that surge from the immaterium.

Since its birth, the Blood Seekers main battle group, Father's Hilt, comprised itself with the bulk of the military and operational force the chapter could muster. However, with the threat of the Thousand Sons and Death Guard splitting Imperial response in the Segmentum, the Blood Seekers have divided into three battle groups: Fathers Hilt, Accolade, and Redsla.

As per their fashion, Fathers Hilt maintains the largest contingent of heavy vessels, with its battle group maintaining two battle barges, three strike cruisers, and various escorts and frigates. Accolade and Redsla make use of the remaining strike cruisers, including one bulk cruiser from the Great Crusade.

Notable Vessels[]
