The Battle for the Fell Stone was the valiant Imperial campaign fought by the Emperor's Trident Space Marine Chapter and local Astra Militarum forces in defence of their Chapter homeworld of Oranthi against a warband of the vile Emperor's Children Traitor Legion.

History[]

Within the first weeks of the 42nd Millennium, while all of the Emperor's Trident Chapter regrouped at their homeworld, Oranthi was invaded by a large warband of the vile Emperor's Children Traitor Legion. The battle was fierce with heavy losses sustained on both sides. As the battle was at its fiercest, numerous warp portals opened in the Fell Stone, causing several Daemons of Slaanesh to pour into the Fortress-Monastery. The warp portals were only able to be closed when the majority of the chapter's Librarians sacrificed themselves by using their psychic minds to close the portals. This cut off the Heretic Astartes' daemonic reinforcements which allowed the Emperor's Tridents to push back the traitor's assault on the Fortress-Monastery.

The Warden Velsar and his personal bodyguards dueled against a vile Keeper of Secrets known as Alnth'slthys. While Velsar was able to banish the Greater Daemon back to the warp, it was at the cost of his bodyguards, slain-to-the-last, by the foul creature. Even with the portals closed many daemons were still present within the Fell Stone. The Neverborn filled almost every level of the fortress-monastery, with very few levels secured by the Emperor's Trident. In their desperation, the Chapter awoke all of their Dreadnoughts to help bolster their defences. Then the chapter serfs rang a large bell at the highest point which attracted the undead creatures known as the Drowned Men.

The Drowned Men took the Emperor's Children off-guard and in their distraction the Emperor's Trident assaulted the traitors with their dreadnoughts leading the charge. When the Fell Stone was taken back, the Traitors' plan was realised when the gene-vaults of the chapter were found raided and all the Astartes that were tasked to guard it were all found butchered and mutilated. The chapter focused their efforts on purging the traitors on their planet. The chapter fleets emerged from their docking stations on the moon of Werlago and assaulted the traitor's fleet. As the battle on both the planet and the void raged on, many Trident ships being destroyed or taken including the flagships of the 5th, 8th and 12th companies, respectively known as the the Unforgiving Wave, Kraken's Heart and the Call of Sorrow. What happened next, was through the combined efforts of Oranthi Clans and the chapter working together, the Imperial defenders were able to finally push back the darkness. After the traitors were forced off-planet, the chapter went on to reclaim several lost worlds.
