The Appalach Crusade was an Imperial xenocidal campaign carried out against the greenskin forces of WAAAGH! Dakk 'Ead, a long-time enemy of the Emperor's Trident Space Marine Chapter. They were one of three Adeptus Astartes Chapter, including their cousin-Chapter, the Incursors and another unnamed Chapter, as well as several regiments from the Astra Militarum, that took part in a joint Imperial Crusade to cleanse the Ork menace from the besieged Appalach Sector.
It had been many years since the Emperor's Trident chapter had heard any reports of the infamous Ork Warboss known as Dakka 'Ead, and for the longest time the chapter thought he was long dead, thinking that their so-called rival was nothing but a footnote in the Chapter's history. That thought was quickly erased when a huge Ork WAAAGH! attacked the Appalach Sector. Here, Warboss Dakka 'Ead made his headquarters on the conquered planet designated Duravell. The Imperial Crusade to take back this besieged sector was comprised of mostly Astra Militarum regiments, including a regiment belonging to the famous Death Korps of Krieg and three Space Marine Chapters, including the Emperor's Trident, that accepted the call to this Crusade.
At the start of the Crusade the Imperial forces were having difficulty breaking the Ork line. one of the Space Marine Chapters, later known as the Incursors, made planetfall along with three regiments of Astra Militarum troopers. After years of the Crusade, the Emperor's Trident assaulted the Ork's stronghold. Warboss Dakka 'Ead challenge the captain of the Emperor's Trident to an honour duel. As the captain approached the Warboss, the hulking greenskin removed all of his weapons and the captain did the same. What happened next, was long hours of brutal brawling. The brawl ended when the Warboss threw the captain out of a large shattered window of a large building, but not before the captain managed to take the Warboss with him, the two opponents both plunging to depths unknown. With the death of their leader, the Orks' morale was broken and the Imperial crusaders made short work of the Orks in a matter months, scouring the world of their foul presence.
